slight of hand for disarm?

Advice

found a thread the other day where a guy claimed he had a build where he could use slight of hand instead of disarm... (and this is the key) at 4th level.

The only way I see to do that is the weapon snachter advanced rogue feat, which of course you only get at 10th.

Is there some other magic item, feat, or class ability that would either...

1) let you get an advanced tallent early?
2) let you use slight of hand skill rather than disarm besides weapon snatcher?

Was he saying he could disarm an actively wielded weapon? Or was he suggesting he could use sleight of hand to snatch a weapon from a sheath?

he ways saying that it was using slight of hand instead of his disarm cmb, from a drawn weapon in an enemies hands... which is exactly like the 10th level weapon snatcher advanced rogue tallent, so either he had a way of getting that early or theres some other way he claims he can get it (archtypes or prestige classes, obscure fighting style feat?)

so nobody else? nuthin? I'm guessing the guy was full of crap unless somebody could tell me how its possible to get a 10th level advanced rogue tallent at 4th level...

Dark Archive

Halfling Filcher One of my favourite archetypes.

Halfling filcher gives improved steal at 4th and to use sleight of hand in place of CMB when performing a steal. This does not allow you to take held items though. My vote is toward a not full reading of rules or a generous house rule, otherwise not sure how it would be possible at 4th.

exactly, I've gotta make a rogue for a 2nd darkness campaign and was seriously considering filcher... but by 10th level I am assuming most of the encounters (like most PF games) will be against large sized and using natural weapons, making it kind of silly to max out slight of hand for an ability you wont get till 10th (or 12th if I choose to dip a couple of levels into deep walker ranger for better bab) IF there was a way to ge weapon snacher earlyer it would make more sense...

btw gloves of larceny +5 SoH
familiar squirl +3 SoH
Halfling +2
Skill focus+3
Deft Hands +2
improved and greater steal +4
etc..

I figure If I wanted to go this route by 10th I could have a SoH in the 40's and was thinking of getting grippoli heritage trait for the tounge... could have a hobbit with a long sexy tounge that could rip the sword or staff out of the bbeg's hands on a 2 from 10 ft away...

A Gnome Prankster Bard gets to "swap" items using Sleight of Hands, but that comes at level 5.

I looked at the prankster, but if it works as "steal" combat manuver then you cant take something that the target is already holding, or am I reading that wrong?

No, you're right. My bad.
