Are witches aware of whether the misfortune and evil eye hexes take effect?

Is there some way to figure out if the misfortune and evil eye hexes take effect? Because cackling consumes the witch's move action, the rules seem to contemplate that the witch would be aware of whether the hexes worked (that is, whether the opponent made the will save). It seems a little odd that the player would have to decide to maintain a hex round after round without having any idea if it took effect. Maybe the witch senses whether or not there is a hex in effect to maintain? That would make sense to me.

Pretty sure it works the same as spells- you know if the victim's made their saves.

Evil Eye works for a round regardless of save, so that is always worth cackling for.

Misfortune, I say you should know if they shrugged it off... but some GMs may not give it to you as they think witches are too powerful.

Hey a bit off the topic, but got me thinking about it anyway. If a Witch's Hex states a "Will Save" negates, can the hex be of any use at all against monsters that have no will save (or wisdom score for that matter)?

Depends on the curse. Some of the are mind effecting so it depends on the immunities of the creature.

What creatures don't have will saves at all?

(From my own bitter experience, undead are a _pain_ for witches - they're immune to 90% of the witch's best tricks.)

Thanks all. My GM encouraged me to play a witch, so hopefully he'll be tolerant of the abilities that can cause a bit of a headache for the GM.

I agree the undead are tricky for witches, although I think misfortune still works on them.

I wouldn't say always. If they failed the save, it's on for 6-7 rounds anyway. Chances are they'll be dead by then and I can always extend it later.

There are probably better uses for a move action than that.
