Pretty much!
As for the loot, I fully agree with the idea that when we come across an item that is given to a character specifically because it benefits the group as a whole that that items cost should not come out of that character's loot share. As Shifty pointed out, too, there must be specific cases where this applies to prevent people from claiming things all the time and saying it's for the good of the group.
As for the group's feelings towards Elghund, hopefully over time we can prove to him that we don't see him as harshly as he believes we do. I don't feel that Klo has looked to me as his second, and I do agree that his asking Annalisa about her hometown's etiquette is only proper.

Loot... such a contentious issue, my honest take is that as long as no one is snaffling all the good stuff, then it can be pretty free and easy...
If a character is getting stacked - and Skane is a prime example, then the lion's share of loot goes to the others to do with what they will. Where we have to be careful is when someone gets dead set on a specific item and foregoes all else in its pursuit (be it a Specialist Weapon or whatever). Klo's point is a decent one - if all that barred Skane from getting an armour or weapons upgrade was the cloak deficit, then I in coin-crunching terms I might be tempted to drop it (I wouldn't - but playing Hel's advocate here).
We don't want a situation where "no-one" selects an item as it would throw them into a huge "treasure deficit" - but at the same time keep wealth/loot balanced.
Agree 100% that wands and consumables are "party" items that benefit us all and shouldn't count.
With good player/DM communication we should be able to thrash out a workable and flexible agreement that fits the groups "in game" modus nei?

Kló |

Agreed. I think a well-maintained Black House Booty doc will allow us to do all that we're talking about.
As to Elghund's concern that someone could just rack up a big ole pile of "group" loot that thier character uses – while still gaining their share of the divided sold loot – we can monitor that. If the item is tracked properly – that being on the booty doc under their name with a "sell-back" value next to it – then we will plainly see when someone is stockpiling the group loot items. IF that comes to pass, we can vote as a group on what should happen… whether that means selling that stuff back and distributing the wealth or whatever.
But those items that a person is using that are still on the group loot page is still gropu loot… meaning we can decide as a group to sell it if the group as a whole wants to. This means if you want something to actually become "yours", you have to buy it off the group at the sell-back price.
If done well, this system should regulate itself (or at least allow us all to easily determine when imbalances are mounting).
At the end of the day, I want to be able to use the items we come across organically, without penalizing someone's share of the loot if it makes most sense for an item to go to them for the team's sake.
And yah, wands or other group items need to be tracked as such and not held against any single person's pile o coin.

Kló |

We're still waiting on the value of some of the items in that document. Once VoV can get us those, we can divvy up the funds and make purchases.
And while we're talking about the list, if there's anything in your specific character's list that you want to actually make yours (as opposed to group loot you're using), give us a note that you're purchasing it, and we'll figure the best way to account for that in the loot distribution.

Rikka the Dðcincel |

I'd like to rejoin the game and be a regular poster, if you have no objections. I already spoke with Mark and he is fine with that - provided the Black House players agree. So, I'm asking for a 'yea' or 'nay' from you good folks... and please be honest, you won't hurt my feelings. If you like the play balance without Rikka, prefer the smaller group, or whatever - just say so. I'll step away without complaint or ill will. Thanks.

Twilightrose |

Mayhaps DMVoV will be benevolent and allow Dragonblood472 to join anyway. *sigh*

Just a heads up, I'm headed out of town this thursday and will be back Sunday evening.
Given that VoV's away, I don't expect it will impact this game greatly, but if something comes up, feel free to play/NPC Klo as needed.
But, like i said, that's not until thursday, so you guys have to pu tup with me until then. Booyah!

Hilde Alfborne |

Ditto on the con, but I believe our group's waiting on Mark to pop back in and help us advance the scene...
Slaugh Sidhe
1) What are we going to do with the necromancer? Do we try him now or cart him back to town only to try him then? The second is great and all if Mark just says, "Boom, you're back in town." but kind of sucks if he escapes or we get ambushed. As I said in the gameplay forum, Hilde is inclined to question him now and assuming Lady Maresse IDs him as the leader, execute him now. I haven't said so, but I'm more inclined to take the sick bandits back if we take anyone. Even then however, she has little problem executing them as well if the Lady is for it.
2) What do you want to do about loot? The other group is making their decision and I think we should make one as well. I've stated my preference but no one else has spoken up. I seriously doubt everyone loves my idea so much they just want to go with it so I'd like to hear some responses.
Lets get these two discussions out of the way so we can move right out when Mark returns.

Olaf Eriksson |

Thus, if Hilde wants to execute any (or all) of them, Olaf has no particular problem with it.
----
Regarding treasure, I definitely spoke up, but I will re-iterate:
I am a strong believer in treasure going to whomever will benefit most, with the remainder being liquidated, and split between the party.

Kelgar Frostbeard |

I won't be able to expand much on this likely until next week, but wanted to chime in before I travel away.
1) Kelgar is fine with execution out here since, if his guilt is confirmed by Lade Maresse, that's what should await him in any town. I'd like to try to question him first, since we're likely to find he's working for someone else.
2) I'm also good with Olaf's suggestion. We'll hand out items, split what we sell, and perhaps every couple levels we can do a WBL check and if someone is falling significantly behind, they can take a larger cut of the coin distribution to catch up to the party average.

Bastagar Swiftthicket |

Rhokar's locked chest, Storeroom and Posessions
--- One winterblood pixie in iron cage --- "Vrixx"
--- 10 alchemist fire flasks ---
--- 3 scrolls (unidentified) --- read magic has been cast, waiting on the boss-man.
--- 5 vials of greenblood oil (contact poison, DC 13, 1 Con Damage for 4 rounds) ---
--- 2 vials of oil of taggit (ingested poison, DC 15 or unconcious for 1d3 hours) --- Bastagar will definately take at least one of these vials, if not both. His bluff and stealth skills, as well as invisibility and later disguises, will help him put this to good use.
--- 3 vials of oil (unidentified) ---
--- vials of alchemists fire (10)
--- spellbook --- Claimed by the Halfhand
--- echoes of the first world scroll --- Both Bastagar and the Halfhand can cast... do we need some fairie blood as a regent? I know a guy who knows a guy.
--- Mwk studded leather (Medium) ---
--- Mwk Shortsword (Medium) ---
--- Cloak of the Yeti (4000gp, +2 intimidate, +1 Natural Armour, endure elements) --- Did Olaf claim this?
--- spyglass
--- fine elven-make riding boots
--- silver dagger with hidden compartment --- Bastagar made the check but I dont know that we ever established what was inside
--- leather scroll case containing one scroll of endure elements... --- Given that Bastagar doesnt have so much as a cold weather outfit, I'd like to have this.
--- two scrolls of magic weapon... --- At least one claimed by the Halfhand. Perhaps Olaf or Kelgar could use the other?
--- one scroll of unseen servant...
Bandit's Arms
--- The bandit's arms add up to ten longbows, ten longswords, six sets of studded leather, four sets of leather - and a smattering of coin (180gp). --- If we haul all of this back to Heldren (unless that isnt our next destination) we could flog it off at half value for an additional 375+75+75+20 = 545gp
Stables
Three horses and tack
Downstairs Chest (Two Penny's?)
--- healer’s kit (5 uses remaining)
--- potion of lesser restoration
--- (I'm guessing Hilde and Kelgar would claim these?
Coin and valuables
--- 25pp, 405g, 205sp
--- gold ingot
--- silver lady's ring
--- three tigers eye shards
--- 1 blue quartz "ice diamond"
If you'd like to claim something just reproduce the list in the latest spoiler and let us know. We can probably keep fairly up to date that way and finalize it in no time at all. Feel free to contest the endure elements scroll or oil of taggit Bastagar's claimed so far, though. He'll help himself to some of the alchemists fire and greenblood oil once everybody's combed through the loot.

Cearb |

Loot-wise, Cearb can only really use the alchemist's fire vials, so he will take two unless someone forgoes their share, then he will take extra.
Seems Olaf, our intimidating frontliner, should take the Cloak with its bonus to AC and intimidation.

Bastagar Swiftthicket |

Seems perfect for a TWF rogue at any rate.

The Halfhand |

The Halfhand only really needs scrolls and gold to make more scrolls and learn spells. Alchemist's fire never hurts, though.
On the necromancer, the Halfhand is nothing if not a pragmatist. He doesn't like hauling prisoners or other dead weight. Once we've questioned him, he wouldn't want to keep him around. Whether that means killing him or releasing him doesn't really matter.

Rikka the Dðcincel |

so here's how I'll level up Rikka.
2nd Level HP: 1d6 ⇒ 6
Total HP: 7 + 6 = 13
Cast 1st spells 5/day
2 Cantrips (1 from level, 1 from Fast Learner) - Daze, Mage Hand
5 Skill Ranks (2 + 1 INT + 1 Human + 1 Favored Class)
UMD, Perception, Appraise, Intimidate, K:Planes
BAB +1
CMB +1
CMD +1 (14/11)
Will Save +1
Concentration +1
vs SR +1
Familiar (HP and BAB improvement)

Hilde Alfborne |

Sluagh Sidhe::
Has anyone used Detect Magic on the elven riding boots? Seems odd to find those here.
Hilde will ask the Lady if she wants to return the three captives to town or question/kill them on the spot. While Hilde is overly compassionate, the two men forfeited mercy when caught in the presence of a necromancer. She can forgive banditry but desecrating the dead is too much. If willing to execute the three, I will ask that we question the necromancer and then that Caerb perform the duties. Hilde will attend to confirm the sentence has been carried out and will expect everything to be simple and businesslike.
I'm looking forward to Voice returning from Hawaii. On the good news front, I took the last of my "make or break" tests and passed. The hardest term of general sciences is over and now I'm preparing for Step 1 of my Boards while finishing the last term. That test is eight hours long and I'm really not looking forward to it.

Cearb |

I appreciate the extra fire bottles as they give Cearb something to do on those long runs when his little legs don''t get him into position in a single round (or two).

Your wintry guide to the colder climes of Golarion has returned from his island getaway. Oahu and Kauai were indeed most excellent and nascent plans are in place for spending of accrued long service leave time on Kauai. 16 hours in a plane yesterday and 6 hours time difference to acclimatise to will make recovery relatively slow - most likely won't have an in-game post up till tonight as I work through the mass of threads and get things straight again.
But you can officially consider me back in the saddle and back in the game :)
I'll plough through the myriad of spoilers and see if there's anything I missed as well.

DM - Voice of the Voiceless |

Reading up on the spoilers now that I've managed a gameplay post on each side. I'm finding the group dynamics discussion quite interesting, and there will be a couple of key points coming up that will help to be 'touchpoints' as far as development goes.
I'm chuckling slightly that Elghund is still seen as a bad guy from killing an animal - and Annalisa got off fairly easy for crotchkicking Rokhar to death... but then again, only Elghund and Skane were awake at the time that the crotchkicking took place, and they didn't make any mention of it ;)
Re-emphasising that loot divvying is up to each group's own devices. Just let me know if you need clarification on any individual item values, etc.
Re: relative position in the storyline - both groups are at the same point, but there was one key difference between the Fae and Ulfen fights that might spoiler something for the northern brutes ;)
On the PFS discussion - it is a yes, I have no issue filling out sheets for those that want them. We're still a good distance from that point in the storyline though, so it won't come up super quick.
As to Rikka - welcome back, and unfortunatley for DragonBlood I think 6 will be the max I'll go in either group. He'll be first off the post if we do get a dropout for any reason... but for now I'm sticking with those I've got.

Twigs |

... well, that's one way to go out. Ouch.
Also somebody still needs to claim that cloak of the yeti, and I'm unsure whether Halfhand and Kelgar want a cut of the alchemical items. Assuming yes, I think that's a 4 way split. 3 alchemists fire vials for two of us and 2 vials for the others. There's also the greenblood poison if people expect to get any mileage out of it.
That's good news on the PFS sheets. I have a magic stone slinging cleric that's a little too far from precise shot for me to endure another module with...
--- 3 scrolls of lesser animate dead (2HD) --- Sell, burn, or give to the wizard. Bastagar's too superstitious to go near them.
--- 5 vials of greenblood oil (contact poison, DC 13, 1 Con Damage for 4 rounds)
--- 3 vials of oil of magic weapon --- We should divvy this and the other scroll up between us in case we run into any incorporeal creatures, or anything with DR magic. Bastagar won't need one with his damaging spells, so say Olaf or Kelgar take the scroll and the rest of y'all grab an oil
--- vials of alchemists fire (10) --- To be split 4 ways, unless I'm mistaken. That's a cut of 3 for Caerb, A cut of 2 for Bastagar and a cut of 3 or 2 for Halfhand and Kelgar
--- spellbook --- Claimed by the Halfhand
--- echoes of the first world scroll --- Not sure what we were doing with this.
--- Mwk studded leather (Medium) --- No takers? Will sell for 87.5gp
--- Mwk Shortsword (Medium) --- And this for 155
--- Cloak of the Yeti (4000gp, +2 intimidate, +1 Natural Armour, endure elements)
--- spyglass
--- silver dagger with hidden compartment --- still unsure what's in it
--- two scrolls of magic weapon
Bandit's Arms
--- The bandit's arms add up to ten longbows, ten longswords, six sets of studded leather, four sets of leather - and a smattering of coin (180gp). --- Half Value: 545gp[b]
Stables
Three horses and tack
Downstairs Chest (Two Penny's?)
--- potion of lesser restoration [b]Hilde? Kelgar?
Coin and valuables
--- 25pp, 405g, 205sp
--- gold ingot
--- silver lady's ring
--- three tigers eye shards
--- 1 blue quartz "ice diamond"
--- fine elven-make riding boots
Bastagars Claim:
--- 2 vials of oil of taggit (ingested poison, DC 15 or unconcious for 1d3 hours)
--- leather scroll case containing one scroll of endure elements... --- Given that Bastagar doesnt have so much as a cold weather outfit, I'd like to have this.
--- one scroll of unseen servant
--- Two vials of alchemists fire

Annalísa Finnrsdóttir |

Annalisa has so totally moved past Elghund's attacking the elk, and again, if challenged on it, Annalisa would begrudgingly admit that it wasn't the wisest thing to do, she let her pride and anger get the best of her and would apologize as needed to the group.
@Twigs - he didn't literally mean crotch, she just kicked the hell out of the man that was tied on the floor. He caused her to run and hide in fear. She returned pissed, saw him prone, and took her anger and wounded pride out on his bound body.

The Halfhand |

Back in action, alright!
I can grab the Echoes and Magic Weapon scrolls to study, as well as the Unseen Servant for personal use. Discussing the animate dead scrolls in character could be a good way of establishing the Halfhand's view of necromancy.
Alchemists fire for me, too.

Kló |

Hey! Nice to see this thing moving again. :)
I did a post in the Black House thread to sum up what we dont have ID'd or Appraised from our loot list (as well as any checks I could provide to help in that regard). As soon as you're able, VoV, can you help fill in the holes, and then we can move forward with some loot purchases. :D

Nonetheless it made me feel a little less hesitant to coup de grace the bloke. If we're going to start back we may as well start swinging, eh? (I'm hoping this turns out more Benny Hill and not an elk incident of our very own. :P)

Please help me with Hilde's Paladin Oath
The Oath of Boughs
Nought but Truth,
from my mouth shall flow.
No debt shall I accrue,
and none shall I bestow.
For the places in-between,
the Defender of Twilight,
know Evil from Shadow,
protect that which is right.
Break not the Laws of Men,
the Kingdom or the Court.
To natural courses hold,
of time, of place or sport.
Honor beauty for its own sake,
force it not to bend its knee.
Even weeds deserve to grow,
where possible, let them be.
1. Hilde's statements must always be the literal truth. Deception is acceptable, as long as her words are always literally correct.
2. Hilde may not give or accept gifts. Everything must be traded in equal value. However, value is not always immediately apparent, nor is it always based on coin.
3. Hilde must seek to separate that which is Evil from that which is simply unpleasant. She must protect that which is not from that which is Evil, whether she approves of it or not.
4. Hilde must follow the laws of the Land of the Linnorm Kings, the First Kingdom and the Court of Twilight. Should they conflict, she must seek atonement. She is not responsible for enforcing these laws, simply to follow them.
5. Hilde must follow the code of good druids as well as that of the paladin. She may not stop events from happening when they should, may not take natural features out of their habitat and must tailor her life around fulfilling these duties. She is not responsible for forcing others to do so.
6. Hilde must appreciate the differences between things, even if it clashes with her desires or preferences. She may not destroy that which she finds unpleasant or even abhorrent unless it is actually Evil. Unfortunately, this means that not only must she put up with The Halfhand, but must actually find a way to appreciate him and promote his welfare.
All comments are welcome. Some of these will be harder to follow than others, but I think that is the way of moral codes.
