Tengus in Golarion...

Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

Where do they come from mostly? I'm wondering if my tengu would fit into a jade regent campaign, and I would like to know more about tengus in general. Also, where is slavery most prominent in Golarion?

Basically: Would my ex-slave tengu swordmaster work in a Jade Regent campaign?

Tengu are native to Tian Xia, but are not uncommon in the Inner Sea Region, particularly the Shackles.

Tengu live in Tian Xia (they have their own nation there called Kwanlai) but also live in the slums of human settlements in the Shackles and the Sodden Lands, a place where the slave trade is up and kicking. An ex-slave tengu could work nicely in a JR campaign. They escaped from slavery somewhere in the Shackles, then head off to try to join an expedition to Tian Xia to get (back?) to the tengu nation. :)

Thank ye thank ye, good advice.

I have him as a street rat in Port Peril, then caught by slavers and sold in Cheliax. Does that fit??

Yeah, that would fit. The only issue is that Shackles pirates tend to see Tengu as kind of lucky, so local slavers might be a bit leery of grabbing one.

Not quite, they're considered Bad Luck Sponges. So grabbing one even as a slave is still good luck for the crew.
