I've got 3 PFS Quest submissions outstanding (I had them all in before the contest started), as well as some fiction samples sitting with James Sutter for him to look at.

Less than three hours to go!
RPG Superstar aside, I have a little project planned for my Dance of Ruin game designs called Dangerous Doorways. Its going be a free weekly/bi-weekly encounter format for Pathfinder. Prepping Skull & Shackles for my group starting in the next week or two... and trying to scrape up some cash to go Storm Chasing at the end of April.

Superstar is coming to a close, though some will doubtless get to carry this experience on to new writing projects. I just wanted to say I have really enjoyes this year and I'm grateful for the new friends and fellow gamers I've met. I hope Ziv's game gets cracking and we fellow competitors get to relax and play together very soon.
Best of luck to Scott, Matt and Pedro. Hope to see all you fellas at Gen Con this year!

Well, Gen Con will be a little hard for me for logistical reasons. ;) Though I will be in California for a couple of weeks in April, so if anyone's got any tips about LA and San Francisco, I'll be glad to hear them!
But now back on topic, I feel the same way as Steven. I've grown fond of everybody in our "Superstar Season", and I've seen amazing stuff from everyone. At all times there was a great spirit of camaraderie in this exquisite filigreed guildhall; I never felt like I was running against anyone, but instead, alongside a bunch of really talented people. I've learned a lot from this run with you guys, and from the get-go the bar set by you all made me work harder each round.
Being in this competition is not only a great opportunity but also a crash course in game design. Once you're in, it's a matter of how quick you can take the blows, learn from them, react and keep moving forward. It's easy to fall in some traps along the way, and a slight misstep can be the end of it. Having gone through this experience, I truly, truly appreciate what everyone did in every round, because it's a hard game to play. Whatever the outcome of the voting, this was a blast. A crazy, hectic, nerve-racking, educative blast.
I hope we managed to entertain the judges and the voting public with our entries, because even if this is a job interview, it is also supposed to be fun. And oh, boy, it was (for me, at least).

The latest episode of my podcast is up, and I talk for just a few minutes about my brief but enlightening experience in the contest. Thanks again to Paizo and the Paizo community for the opportunity.

Oh I'll definitely be seeing you there Steve! Can't wait.

I've got another Creature Codex in the pipe, and I hope to submit some pitches to Paizo in the months to come. Of course, I'm currently more focused on finishing my teaching credential...
The final four pitches look great! This is an awesome set of finalists we have this year, and I'd be excited to read any of these modules.
Happy Easter to you all. He is risen, indeed!
We've all chewed our nails until it hurts to type!
Caught the pax pox. Too sick to trust my typing to be coherent. I'll try and post soemething after voting when I can't mess it up. :P
Well it's not RPG Superstar related but my year in social media has been hot, hot, hot!
Since last March I've been in the Taco Bell Doritos taco ad campaign commercial under my twitter handle @scooter313, I just cashed my first $100 YouTube check for a video w/ my fiancee & her brother hooking a monster fish (which I subsequently lost off the line), and I'm Top 4 here.
All in all life has been quite interesting!

Only four hours to go. I say we blow off whatever we're doing and Skype in a pickup Pathfinder game.
Good luck to Matt, Scott and Pedro. You've been fun companions and class sportsmen.

Congratulations, Steven! Good job!
Congratulations Steven! Loved your module proposal.
Congratulations Steven! Well Done!
Congratulations, Steven! Well played, sir.
Congrats, Steve. For everyone else, remember the 9 Blazing Months will start up soon, after we finish giving Mr. Helt his due. It's a lot of fun and we'd love more people involved.
Rather than clog up the Guildhall, I started a new thread just to highlight all the congratulations for Steve...but I'll say it here, too. Congrats, Steve! Well done! :-)

Congratulations to the top four and to all the other Top 32 for this year. You also have the opportunity to get into the game of RPG design and writing. The other three of the top four (Matt, Scott and Pedro) have a PFS scenario to create, use this opportunity to really shine and you'll get more work in the industry. Names such as Clinton Boomer, Jason Nelson, Rob McCreary, Russell Taylor, Jim Groves, and many more have gone on to make names for themselves from Superstar. For those in the Top 32, have a look at Jesse Benner and Dennis Baker from the class of 2010, they are out there - Dennis has done some extremely enjoyable PFS scenarios and Jesse's monsters seem to grace every Adventure Path issue I open. So if you want to get your work published in the RPG industry, use the opportunity that RPG Superstar provides.
Congrats, Steve. You totally earned it.
Maybe this occurred earlier in the thread, as I only lurk here I might have missed it. But I am curious because of another thread how long each of the Top 32 took to refine their item.
Was it a day? a week? or did you use the whole eight/12 months?
I thought of the core idea about a month before the competition and wrote it up a few days before.
I kept a list of all the ideas I had over the course of the year, along with ideas from previous years I didn't submit, whittled it down to six or so I thought were the gems and wrote those up about a month before the competition. I settled on the Soap a few days before submission and spent a couple nights refining the text until I was happy with it.

I spent a day working on an idea, liked it very much and then a friend shot it down.
Thought up a new one, drawing upon stuff I had done before and spent about 2 days on it.
I only start designing when the contest starts, spending 9 months crafting the perfect entry is not what Superstar is about. Quick turnover is key here, otherwise you will make top 32 and stay top 32.
An achievement nonetheless, but not the end goal.
Both times I've made the Top 32 I came up with the idea about a week before the deadline after brainstorming a few ideas. Usually the weekend before the deadline I scrap the weaker items and start revising mechanics and prose.
My Nightmare boots were a homebrew item I had for years, though they changed significantly in mechanics for the PF rules. Last year my Capricious Gangplank idea was a little too gonzo & SAK for the judges. This year's Verdant crown grew out of the play between the words oak and iron.
A week seems about right for me, too. I had drafted a few items during 2012 but wasn't too happy with any of them, so in the end I created my submission from scratch after the 2013 competition had already started.
Congratulations again to Steven and kudos to all the Top 4. Picking a winner was a tough decision for me. Good stuff all around.
If the esteemed folk assembled here would do me the favor, I'm a finalist in the Lost Magic contest on the Kobold Press site. There are five pretty interesting spells in the running. Head on over and check them out. If you think my portal jaunt spell has what it takes to be a winner, I'd be grateful for your vote. Otherwise, there are four others worthy of your attention.
Hey friends! I'm giving you an update on my whereabouts:
Back when I said I was moving to Seattle, I somehow instead ended up going to China for two weeks, coming back to Philly for two weeks of office drudgery, going back to China for two more weeks, and then going to South Korea for a week. I've avoided bird flu and earthquakes and North Korean missile threats and arrived back in one piece!
I'm going to be taking a wild cross-country journey in my well-loved 1999 Chevy Prizm with two of my West Coast college friends, finally coming to rest in Seattle somewhere between the 15th and the 18th. I hope to see at least one of the world's largest somethings along the way.
Wish me luck!
<3, Chris

P.S. - I see you had a contest while I was away. Congratulations Steven, and everyone else! You were all really deserving.

Sorry I've gone AWOL... Towards the end of Superstar, I was job-hunting. Then I found one :) I've been kind of overwhelmed.
I'd really like to get back to running the game I promised, though. I'll get back on it in the next couple of days.
Chris Update!
Well, it took some doing, but 2 travel buddies, 8 days, 3500 miles, and countless empty glasses of local craft beer later, I've arrived in Seattle! I'm settling in pretty quick, so let me know if you're local and want to hang out.
My harddrive got jostled somewhere in transit (I'm looking at you, Idaho), so it will take me a while to get back on the boards entirely, but I hope to talk to you all on a regular basis again soon!

This Monday we'll get started character creation, so start mulling over you character concepts!
Expect PMs from me over the weekend.
Awesome. How many players are ya taking? Who wants to play? Is anyone NOT playing their archetype?
