Cleric Build Help

Advice

OK recently posted a thread for cleric help and this is the fruits of the labor from it, just wondering if it seems like a solid build or joke.

Fighter 1 / Cleric 2
Human
Neutral

HP: 31 (House rule double max HD and Double con mod first level and at 3rd half HD + con mod + 1 + 1 fav option (if have) + 1 toughness (if have feat))

STR: 14
DEX: 13
CON: 12
INT: 9
WIS: 17 (15 + 2 race)
CHA: 16

FEATS:
1st Toughness
Channel Smite (Fighter Bonus)
Guided Hand (Human Bonus)
3rd Selective Channel
5th Command undead (Future feat/swap at 4th level with toughness maybe)

Domains: Magic and Strength (Urgathoa)

Weapons: Scythe

AC: 17
Armor: Breastplate
Shield: Buckler (scrapping)

Any thoughts?

I wouldn't bother with the buckler if your primary weapon is 2H.

You won't get the AC bonus most of the time, and you take a to-hit penalty when trying to attack while wearing one.

true after rereading the buckler it does suck.

Are you planning to place a point into Dex as you level up? Or going for a feat that requires 13 Dex?

Cos I don't quite understand why you would drop your Int to 9, yet leave your Dex at 13.

Clerics are staved for skill points, so you should try to avoid dropping Int any further.

I could get the dodge feat later on to help boost my AC, and I can prepare some defensive spells to boost my ac also. haven't really been hit that much so not that worried about it.

I kinda want some skills but not a whole lot we have alot of skills covered as a party, got a Magus (elf), wizard (human), inquisitar (Tengu), bard (gnome), paladin (gnome and gets only 1 skill point per level), and my cleric. I just pick up some slack. and my diplomacy beats the whole party anyways (not like diplomacy matters to my cleric that much).

Additionally, if you're dumping Int at all as a Cleric, go all the way. There's literally no difference between a Cleric with 9 Int and a Cleric with 5 Int, except the fact that you take a penalty on a few skills, which you won't really have the skillpoints to use, anyway.

Sadly I think my cleric should atleast have a -1, yeah I could have gone for a 7 and possible have better stats but I wouldn't gain anything for the party (I like to support my party unlike the good for nothing paladin)

The point is that you're going to have a whopping 2 skill points/level, pretty much regardless of what you do if your Int is under 10. Might as well pull a few extra points out of Int and put them into some other, more useful stat.

Now, if you actually want skills, I highly advise dropping your Dex to 12 (Dodge is not really a good feat for a Cleric, you only get a few feats and it's best to use them on other things) and putting your Int up to 10, giving you 3 skill points/level. 4 if you use your favored class bonus on it.

I actually like that (such a skill whore =[ )

Or I could just drop my int to a 7 and have the following:

STR: 14
DEX: 14
CON: 12
INT: 7
WIS: 17
CHA: 16

7 Int... Cleric... *face-plam. Might as walk into the game with min-maxer written on your forehead. :P

Dodge... is a VERY weird choice for a Cleric. There are just so many better feats you can take!
Toughness, Improve Initiative are all better feats for you... then Dodge...

There are also skills that you should place points in. Perception is one example, it is a MUST take skill, even if it is not a class skill.
If you have 10 int, you will have 2 + 1 (Human) + 1 (Favored Class) = 4 skill points. Not a small number.
Perception, Diplomacy, Spellcraft and Knowledge Religion are all good choices.

ALSO! Take note of the Quick Channel feat. With 16 Cha you have 6 uses of channel. In the even of your party been brought low by a Maximized Fireball, you can heal your party and skill cast a spell or get an attack!
Useful for the party.
