I'm so excited about my item

I will definitely weep manly tears if my item doesn't make it through.

I've been pondering it for a long time. I forced myself to move away from the idea and look elsewhere to make sure it was the best. Yet it came in a flash of inspiration and has seen many hours of perspiration. Figuratively because of all the time I put in, and literally it's really hot down in Australia at the moment.

It's an exciting item that does something I haven't seen before. It has a really great visual appeal and is something I could see many adventurers wanting to have handy.

I'm waiting for it to be proof read before I look over it again one more time. Then it's submission O'Clock.

Please don't risk identifying your item or submission time otherwise you could break anonymity, get dq'd and waste all your efforts.

It seems to me he expertly avoided saying anything even remotely specific about his item. I think we don't have to worry so much. :)

Dudemeister, I know the feeling! Last year I was beside myself worrying about little nitpicky things in my entry. This year I took my time, so I am confident it will do at least somewhat well. I'm excited instead of worried.

But if I get through again I'll still need to take an hour to calm my nerves. What a rush that is!

I am a bit nervous. My archetype is f'n awesome. Item though I think is good enough to publish, just don't know if it will be wow enough to make the top 32.

Yeah I read over that post A DOZEN times to make sure that I didn't disclose any details or my submission time.

Even if you're super stoked about your item and feel its "done" it's still a good idea to leave it alone for a day and look at it with fresh eyes. Still I feel really good about this year. Best of luck to you all :-D

I couldn't agree more with the idea to let it sit for a while and come back to it later. Your mind processes a bunch of stuff subconsciously, and giving it a bit of time to stew will help consolidate exactly what you want to achieve.

I really miss my item from last year. I really dug it, but I never got a chance to introduce it into a campaign I was running. Now my group is pretty much kaput (2 moved to another continent), so I may never get to see it in play. :-(

One thing I really like about the Superstar competition is that the quality of items that get into the top 32 is so high that anyone can pick them up and introduce them into their games, just as if they were actually printed in a book.

That would make a nice lil PDF. "2013 RPG Superstar Yearbook" to showcase all the contestants and their entries. Clark Peterson and Anthony Adam featured as the cheer squad* for this year's competition. And an appearance by the judges** as well.

* Not wearing cheerleader outfits either (/me shudders)

** Bonus points if they dress the part!

I reread the criticism from last year, and the year before. I did about 14 drafts reread my item and nitpicked it to death. Had several people read and reread it.
