Due to Sean's evil laugh the other day, maybe the top 4 won't be doing a module?
With the rearrangement of the lines, and the emphasis on the player's companions...maybe the top 4 would be to make a player's companion? Presumably those are some of the better sellers if they're getting such an emphasis, so...
Man, that'd be interesting. They'd be able to tie together a lot of the aspects of the past competitions that way.

I'd be surprised if every module actually runs 64 pages of adventure. I expect they will have expanded gazeteers, bestiaries, etc., to support the bulk of the adventure. After all, even the adventure paths are only about 50-60% adventure as it stands.
That said, I do expect that adventures will be somewhat longer (say 40-45 pages average), so it could very well be an expanded adventure in the new line. Though at fully 1/4 of the modules per year coming from Superstar, that may be too much.
I guess time will tell...

64 page books for a 32 page adventure isn't too unreasonable. Like Eric said.
I mean, consider the first book in the Jade Regent Adventure Path - Brinewall Legacy. The table of contents says that the adventure itself is only 46 pages, and even if you consider 2 pages of treasure, and 8 pages of NPCs to be part of the adventure, that's 56 pages - of a 92 page book (plus ads, and covers - maybe 96 pages). That's 58%.
Perhaps they are increasing the word count (to 37 pages from 32 is only about a 3,000 word increase - but let's say 5,000 to make the numbers nice), much more likely, they're mostly increasing the supplementary content in each book.

My guess is that the top 2 or 3 will end up working on the winning module together. This allows multiple "winners" while also having the hands needed to work on the module. Also, this can emulate the back and forth authors may have while working on an AP.
I'm kind of hoping this year's twist will be to pair contestants off to work together for a round. Since this is a freelancing interview, it'd be relevant to test online collaboration skills.
But I imagine that wouldn't fly because scheduling may be out of people's control on short notice.
