Do the spirits surrounding a barbarian with "Spirit Totem, Lesser" get to make an attack of opportunity if they have not made a slam attack earlier in the round?

(If yes, do they get an AOO even if they HAVE slammed earlier in the round?)

Relevant Text: "While raging, the barbarian is surrounded by spirit wisps that harass her foes. These spirits make one slam attack each round against a living foe that is adjacent to the barbarian."

They cannot make any attacks of opportunity at all. Nor can they utilize any combat maneuvers, cast any spells or pour any tea. They can only do what they ability says they can do, nothing more. :)

i'm inclined to agree with the above poster, but making an AoO /IS/ making an attack, so the OP's question seems justified. the ability doesn't specifically state when this attack must happen, it doesn't say 'on the barbarian's turn'. i've always seen this played as happening on the barbarian's turn and not able to make AoO's, but that's not stated in the RAW. given what the ability says, i would NOT allow an AoO in ADDITION to a 'normal' 1 attack/round, the 1 attack/round is ALL that the ability accomplishes.

I'm pretty sure the wisps can't take an AoO because they don't threaten anything. They have a special clause allowing them to attack a single foe adjacent to the Barbarian once per turn, but it does not make any mention of actually threatening (so I also don't believe they get any benefit from flanking).
