Did Anonymous stop Karl Rove from stealing the election?

Off-Topic Discussions

It's certainly possible.

Even Thom Hartmann mentioned it.

Strange times we're living in!

What election?

.

I find the idea eminently plausible.

The Exchange

Yeah right...sounds fishy fish fish to me.

Plausible but as far as i can see completely evidenced.

If it really happened like they say, there would be evidence. If they have that evidence, they need to show it.

Anonymous should have done something cool like...thrown the election to Roseanne!

That would have been radicool!

Can't be the King and the power behind the throne at the same time... So why would Karl throw the election to himself? He is the 'Roseanne Barr' of political strategists after all. :)

Rove was so absolutely sure they'd win Ohio. If you saw his reaction on Fox, it was hilarious. He was beside himself when they called it for Obama.

$300+ million. Wasted! The Kochs must have been furious.

Liberty's Edge

Yeah,

Karl should probably avoid small planes and twisty mountain roads for a while.

Following 2004 there was an investigation into voting machine shenanigans, along with some lawsuits.

There was a company that ran the servers that tabulated the results for the Secretary of State's office. The data stream was not secure, and results could easily have been manipulated.

The man who ran the company died in a plane crash in 2008 just before he was supposed to testify.

Michael Connell.

What I cannot understand: If Anonymous has evidence that Karl Rove committed treason on a grand scale in 2004, why would they keep this to themselves? The letter suggests great pride in preventing the same from happening in 2012, but if someone actually pulled it off in a past election, what reason is there to not provide the evidence? Surely if it is true, the key players belong in prison.

While the scenario is somewhat plausible, the lack of concrete evidence makes the whole thing feel like conspiracy theorizing.

The evidence (if it exists,) would be from this election. Anonymous wasn't around in '04. The investigation of the '04 Ohio election appears to have died with the main witness.

Here's a question for you...when did you stop beating your wife?

See, its easy to start conspiracies...just post a loaded question on a messageboard supposedly geared toward gaming...[/ snark]

Sorry, but I don't care what side (left/right wing) it comes from...show me some evidence and maybe I'll give it some credence...

If it happened, I doubt their evidence is strong enough to link Rove to what happened, anonymous and unverifiable evidence doesn't usually hold up well in court. They might also be implicating themselves in lesser crimes if they do so.

Really it just sounds like a daydream while high.

Does anyone know of instances where anonymous demonstrably lies about their own endeavors?

Thanks for the snark. I happen to agree with your last sentence.

You have to consider Anonymous is not an organization nor a specific set of individuals; it is a bunch of different people claiming to be Anonymous, sometimes acting in cell-like groups that are, at best, thinly connected to others, which makes it pretty much impossible to judge their level of truthfulness based on previous data.

Just trying to lighten the mood...no offense intended. I guess it comes from living just outside the cesspool some call the District of Columbia most of my life...

In high school, Anonymous claimed to have a really hot girlfriend, but she was from Canada and there was no way you could meet her.

What!?! Me an' Anonymous had the same girlfriend?!?
