Ruul Spiritskin |
Ruul would be happy to work with Lavinia.
It will take a while. We'll probably have to work through the night. =P
It would appear I was too subtle. =/
Ruul Spiritskin |
We wouldn't want Lavinia in one position for too long. Ruul will be happy to show Lavinia a few different ones.
Lord Manticore |
Ack! I already have half the items we got in the packs! Oh well, I guess it's good to have some spares.
Oh, just for clarification, the "Haversack of Holding" is effectively a Bag of Holding Type I that is in the shape of a backpack and only weighs 5 lbs?
Essentially. The front two pouches (just like the old ALICE packs from the military) each hold 20 lbs and have certain dimensions (you could probably slide a Stephen King novel (even that 1300 page monster, The Stand) into one of those pockets, but nothing bigger. The main compartment holds the same dimensions and weight as a type I bag of holding.
Lord Manticore |
LM
I think this is what you are issuing everyone
cheers
Pretty close. I am using a modded haversack that Super Genius Games came up with. I noticed that the guys at the SRD site haven't posted it yet, so what I wrote in response to Kallistiel is the same as what was written in their little supplement. Once it is posted on the SRD website, I'll post a link.
Elen Emerwen |
Sounds good. Looks like the kiddos won't be going trick-or-treating tonight, due to stomach flu. So I should have time tonight to adjust my inventory. I take it we don't have to stick with things lkke handy haversacks and so forth when they've been replaced by the gifts, and we can spend that money on other things?
Ruul Spiritskin |
In an effort to avoid anymore clutter in the IC thread I've moved this here.
ACCELERATED INTRODUCTIONS: To introduce everyone again for Macavity's sake, I would appreciate if you would summarize what your character will share with friendly conversation. Feel free to shorten the post by referencing material in other places. Macavity will reciprocate. OR just send me a PM.
Ruul's physical description is in his profile.
Initially, he'd explain that he's a warrior and servant/student of the All-Seeing Eye (Nethys). He doesn't have anything to hide so if Macavity wants to know more Ruul wouldn't mind sharing any of the information in his history.
STRENGTHS & WEAKNESSES: We should probably volunteer our character's strength's and weaknesses. Please volunteer to fill any particular roles, e.g. chief negotiator, treasurer, etc.
+ "Face"
During his time among the softer races, Ruul's noticed that others tend to either admire his massive brawny form or lust after it. As such, he's a capable diplomat (+20 with enhanced diplomacy running) or he can just be a bully (good intimidate).
+ Melee Bruiser
Ruul can do pretty good damage but he doesn't have high AC consistently or immunity to harm like Kall, Numair, or Macavity do. That said, if time permits he can get his AC pretty high (barkskin, shield, shield of faith, etc). As it is, he'll likely be running Magic Circle vs Evil and Barkskin whenever we enter a dungeon.
+ Divine Support
Ruul is going to make it a point to keep Magic Circle vs Evil up as much as possible when we're inside dungeons and he prepares a number of buffs/trouble-shooting spells. Also, his Divine domain grants everyone with 15' a +2 to certain rolls whenever he buffs himself.
- Range
Ruul is lacking pretty much any ranged firepower.
- Mobility
No flight. No teleportation. No climb speed. No swim speed.
TEAM ORGANIZATION: After everyone volunteers for things, it should be obvious which character should do what. We also should identify any obvious holes or gaps that we may have potentially missed. We may need to suggest certain characters fill these gaps. Maybe we can settle on a standard watch schedule when we travel, too.
Ruul can take any watch. He prepares spells in the early morning so last watch would be preferable.
Lavinia Batharoy |
Following Ruu's lead -
Lavinia is fairly open about her life and will share that she is a cleric of Pharasma (obviously) and comes from a minor noble family in Ustalav.
She is likely to answer almost any question asked.
Strengths -
Divine support, healing, has spent a most of her life in study and is quite knowledgeable in several areas and has experience in social etiquette.
Weakness -
Fairly useless with any actual weapon and has very little experience with camping and living off the land. She is also very much not stealthy.
Lavinia will take any watch as well, she has a ring of sustenance so only needs two hours sleep to refresh herself.
Calendir Elberen |
Ok, so my two cents:
ACCELERATED INTRODUCTIONS: To introduce everyone again for Macavity's sake, I would appreciate if you would summarize what your character will share with friendly conversation. Feel free to shorten the post by referencing material in other places. Macavity will reciprocate. OR just send me a PM.
Calendir usually keeps to himself - he's friendly enough but simply not very given to banter about himself, or opinions about others. Some things will eventually get his attention, and regarding these he will no qualms about piping in. His looks are as rugged and worn as can be expected from an outdoorsman... Strapped about with pockets, knives, bow, sword, pouches, multiple quivers, etc, etc.
STRENGTHS & WEAKNESSES: We should probably volunteer our character's strength's and weaknesses. Please volunteer to fill any particular roles, e.g. chief negotiator, treasurer, etc.
- "Face"
Hm, probably not the face since we clearly have people that will be way better than him at that role. Unless we are facing animal and/or similar interaction > in that case he will be useful.
= Melee Bruiser
He can handle his own if cornered, since he has full BAB and a not too shabby AC21 at the moment, but this is of course not his main role :D
- Divine Support
Still kinda low level for this to be earthshattering, though it will probably never be outstanding - I've got some good combat support spells to pull out of the hat though.
+ Range
Here we go... This is one of his main roles, this guy wull put out some consistent, serious pain from a distance - no over the top crits or massive damage but high constant damage, unless against favored enemies... there it will spike.
+ Outdoor (survival and tracking)
He's got pretty decent survival skills that may come in handy if we have long overland travel periods, though with the spellcasters we have available, our life should be easier in this aspect. He tracks like a boss by the way ;)
+ B&E
Well, his stealth is good enough for him to be an infiltrator, and it will spike significantly whenever in his favourite terrain, which I am hoping will be most of the time while we are on the road. High perception make him an excellent scout outside, and also inside but much more subject to traps and such.
TEAM ORGANIZATION:
Taking up point when outside.
Taking watches similar to the others.
In combat just keep them off my toes :D
By the way people, anything against taking 1 or 2k gold from the pile for one or 2 pearls of power?
Macavity the black |
First, thank you for accepting the suggestions.
He will tirelessly and politely interrogate your characters until they stop. Of course, he can and will separate the dialogues to avoid physical fatigue and other needs. He enjoys ceremonial tea but doesn't eat anything; although, he sometimes messes up the tea ceremony despite all the practice (taking 10 only gives him a 14 on Knowledge (nobility) for the DC 15). If asked about his curiosity, he says that it is very important to know the true nature of companions in order to develop the necessary level of trust and trustworthiness. Your characters may call it friendship, which he won't dissuade you from that perception. On the other hand what he won't communicate is that he doesn't make significant emotional investment in companions, because he has had too many die on him.
+ Pointman and Watch
He is used to working alone in complete darkness. High stealth at full speed and to bivouac in a blind for over-watch. His Ring of Sustenance and no need for spell maintenance provides pure 22-hour operation. He'll sleep in the saddle or during regular meal times if the GM allows.
+ Breaking and Entering
He automatically gets a Perception check to spot traps. His Disable Device is +18, and he can disarm magical traps now. He also has Disguise Self once per day if the infiltration needs it.
+ Non-combat Mobility
With a 20-foot climb speed, Light Steps (moving over any surface), and standing jump of 26-feet across and 13-feet high. Only flight allows better movement.
+ Melee Flanker
Without surprise or flanking, he uses hit-and-run tactics with Acrobatics, Vanishing Tricks, and Smokesticks. He prefers to fight in fog, total darkness, or dim light. He would seek out flanking partners who can operate in similar light conditions.
+ Ranged sniper
While he can attack at range, he is best at sniping. He prefers to fight in total darkness and dim light, or fog and smoke if necessary.
- His Will and Fort saves are not great.
- While his AC may be near the highest of the group, he is not a tank. He compensates by attempting to fight in total darkness or dim light where he gets 50% miss chance.
- He is not a face (Bluff, Diplomacy, Intimidate) but does have Disguise, which he uses to be seen as somebody people don't want to usually interact with, e.g. homeless, guards, etc.
- Spell casting. He has UMD at a low level and possesses several wands and a couple scrolls that he typically takes 20 out of combat to use. If the appropriate casters are around, he would hand them the items to save time if necessary.
I just read Calendir's post. Since he is a ranged character with 30-foot more Darkvision than Macavity, then he could be either be between Macavity and the party to allow Macavity further distance from the noisy party OR to follow the party watching our backs. If we need to track, he can move forward, but Macavity has a bit of Survival to follow easy trails.
He will take every watch if he can get his 2-hours of sleep in the saddle or during regular meal times.
Azaraunt |
My turn.
Born into a minor noble's family of the Thrice Damned House of Thrune, Azaraunt had few options growing up. Of course he would serve at court. Of course he would train with sword and bow. And of course, when of age, he would enter the Scarlet Tower and study the arcane. Rejecting Necromancy made some wonder about the elf's future, for many Chelaxian wizards embraced those dark arts. But Azaraunt rejected much of the dark side of Cheliax.
His one concession to his upbringing is his dip into the formal study of Hell. Fully fluent in planar knowledge, Azaraunt understands both the strengths and the risks of dealing with devils. He considers them powerful tools to be wielded like any weapon. The worship of devils confuses Azaraunt, but he thinks many religions are pointless. He tackled the study of religion as zealously as all his other subjects but for him it was purely an academic field. Sure the gods had powers to grant, but they were fickle and seemed to dole it out in thimbles. Better to trust in your own powers and so never be disappointed.
+ Arcane Casting: Azaraunt is a 7th level Arcane caster. DCs for his spells equal spell level +7, and Spell level +8 for Conjurations (examples are Glitterdust is DC20, Acid Pit is DC22). His one level of Diabolist complements his Chelaxian background and grants him an Imp animal companion (see below) while not detracting from his spell progression.
+ Dealing with evil outsiders: He has Knowledge Plains +17, Elven Spell Penetration and both his Diabolist and trait bonuses to to Bluff (+11), Diplomacy (+9), Intimidate (+9), and Sense Motive(+10) checks. Keep in mind that these are dump skill for many wizards.
+ Party Buffing and battlefield control: His spells are geared towards buffing the party, controlling the battlefield. He preps spells that Haste, Communal Resist Energy, and wall spells. His Bonded Item (a ring, which is hard to loose) increases his versatility by allowing him to cast any spell from his considerable spellbook once a day. Add to that his Spellcraft +17 and House rule three and I think he can often have the right spell for the occasion.
+Mobility and Survivability: With a speed of 30 and ten 15' shifts a day as swift actions he is very mobile. He almost always memorizes Fly, Haste, and Dimension door. He has a stealth skill of +12. His initiative is +11 so he will often be able to act before the enemy. His perception is good at +11. Combine that with Darkvision and he will be surprised less than most arcane casters. Spells like Feather Fall, Windy Escape and Emergency Force Sphere allow him to protect himself or other party members as immediate actions. AC will normally be 19 or 23 with the Shield spell, which is marginal at lvl 7, but not bad for a wizard.
+ Knowledge Skills: He has good knowledge skills (Arcana +16, Dungeoneering +13, Engineering +13, History +13, Local +13, Nature +13, Nobility +13, Planes +17, Religion +15, and Spellcraft +16/18) ) which will help the party know the information they need and understand what they are fighting.
- Melee Fighting. When he does need to fight he is an accomplished summoner with Augmented Summoning and the Conjuration ability of making his school spells last considerably longer. But summoning is a full round spell for him so he will not do it often. He carries a long sword but the plan has gone wrong when if pulls it.
= Range fighting with weapons. He is decent with a bow when he has to shoot and can prep Flame arrow to provide the party with 50 flaming projectiles. Still a d8 and a d6 a round IF the wisard hits is not all that impressive at our level. Azaranut is not a blaster per say, but does memorize a few range touch spells and with his 20 dex he will often hit with them.
- Daylight. Azaraunt has light sensitivity.
-/+ Scouting. Azaraunt is no scout, but his Imp companion can cast invisibility on himself at will, fly, and assume the form of other creatures (Spider, rat, boar, or raven) at will. Combine that with its high AC (26 with Mage Armor), DR, resistances, and good hit points and it becomes an excellent scout. It possesses Darkvision 60 ft., detect good, detect magic, see in darkness, and perception +10. The Imp also can use wands with UMD of +14. The Imp can also communicate silently with anyone within 50 feet which can be very handy when scouting.
With Craft Wondrous Item and Scribe Scroll he can help craft and upgrade items for the party in any downtime, increasing the readiness of the group. Using Crafter's Fortune he can craft in half the time so he should often be able to craft after a long day. He also has a few tricks he can pull to arrange safe refuge in a dangerous area.
He needs 8 hours of sleep to prepare spells so should take first or last watch. His companion could stand a separate watch if needed.
Elen Emerwen |
Introductions: Elen will happily talk to anyone once she gets over her shyness. So far, people she feels comfortable with include Lavinia, Calendir, Numair, and Ruul. She also will force herself to speak to Azaraunt because she feels guilty about the way she treated him before. It may take a while for her to become comfortable with him, and she has yet to speak much at all to Kallistiel or Macavity, so that will take a little bit of time. However, to speed the process, all of you can feel free to read her background and personality descriptions in the profile, and assume that by the time we reach the camp, she has warmed up enough to share that much with everyone.
I didn't put in a physical description but I will soon. Notable features I will include in it: jet-black hair; skin that is darkly tanned after decades of travel, but is fair where her clothes have consistently covered her; a body shape that differs from the usual slender elf body, having more curves and broadness than usual, closer to what a human woman would have, but her eyes, face, and ears are completely elfin.
Strengths and Weaknesses: She won't have very high AC or HP, and her fortitude and reflex saves aren't as good as her Will. Ally is also a vulnerability -- she only has half of Elen's HP and if she dies, all of Elen's spells die with her. Keeping Elen and Ally in the middle of the pack where they can be behind lots of meat shields is a good idea.
Strengths: She is a debuffing MACHINE. First round against non-mindless opponents will probably be Evil eye followed by a cackle if needed to extend it, then misfortune to make them roll twice and take the lowest roll, then cackling again to extend both. Mindless opponents will still be hit by Misfortune, and a DC of 21 will be hard to resist. Fortune to buff teammates or spells to take advantage of these weaknesses. Slumber will also be used to take out mooks. Hopefully someone has a high crit-multiplier weapon to CDG sleeping foes. She'll be pretty useless in Melee, although her crossbow is a backup option. Hexes don't generally provoke AoO, though, so she's better off just using them if she can.
She is good for knowledge checks, although Lavinia is better, so she'll probably do Aid Another a lot, or be a second option if Lavinia rolls a 1. With Breadth of Experience, though, she can make any knowledge or profession skill untrained, so if the adventure ends up requiring a Profession(Underwater basketweaver) roll, she can do it.
She's useless at most social things, but Ally can do diplomacy, performance, bluffing, and so forth. Ally has limited offensive capabilities, but can do a few things.
Organization: Unlike D&D, Pathfinder elves sleep and require 8 hrs for spellcasters. She doesn't currently have a ring of sustenance (will be a near-future purchase) so she needs her full 8. If a watch is needed, she'll take first or last to avoid interruption. She'll also need an hour with Ally to prepare spells, so that's 9 hours of downtime needed. It doesn't make a lot of sense for her to take watches at all, really.
Numair Nejem |
Great idea man.
Numair's basic backstory is this: he's risen in the Qadiran faction through sheer tenacity and ability. He disdains the greed that his faction embodies. This has caused him conflict with his peers and superiors throughout his career, but he refuses to compromise his principles. He loves to test himself with ever greater challenges.
He does enjoy hearing himself talk and will cheerfully tell Macavity anything he wants to know if Mac will accompany him on the errands he intends to run in the interim.
+ Melee Attacker
High crit weapon with high static modifiers from Self-Buffs results in steady DPR.
+ Tank
High AC + swift-action heals means he can withstand brutal punishment. High saves means less likely to be taken out by save-or-suck or save-or-die spells.
+ Forward Flanker
Numair has decent combat mobility w/ light armor & acrobatics, and isn't afraid to eat an AoO to move into flank. Doesn't mind being surrounded to give flank.
+ Combat Leader
Numair leads from the front, providing morale bonuses with his flag.
+ Ressurectionist
Numair can raise dead at level 7, with no material component. (hopefully will never need to use this!)
+ Focused on BBEG (ie not Lawful Pain-in-the-Ass)
Paladin code based on Sarenrae's dogma. Hates slavery. Hates devils, demons, undead, evil dragons. Ambivalent about allies' use of poison, dishonesty, bribery, thievery, intimidation, etc when they are committed against the wicked (they deserve it!). Intolerant when those sins are committed against the truly innocent (children, etc).
+ Abracadabrah!
Numair is a pitiful spellcaster, but that doesn't stop him from using thier stuff! High UMD and high casting stat means he can use most items in an emergency.
- Healer
Numair has lots of Lay on Hands, but usually uses them to heal himself, or to power abilities. Can heal ally in an emergency.
- Ranged Attacker
He only has a regular bow. Only decent vs evil target w/ smite evil.
- Debuffer
Has single offensive swift-action spell that causes blindness, 3/day.
- Impatient
He gets bored and prefers to jump into action. When tactics are important, he has better impulse control. (not a Leroy Jenkins!)
- Social Leader
High diplomacy lets him negotiate effectively from a position of strength. However, he often makes poor decisions in his haste.
- Oblivious (may be + for you!)
No special vision and -1 Perception modifier.
- Honest
Numair is honest. He refuses to lie himself. He is uncomfortable lieing by ommission or by not correcting what someone else has just said. (Hopefully this won't cause us much trouble!).
Numair prefers to be at the vanguard of the column, with scouts out front.
He likes to sleep, and uses Sharav to watch over him while he does so. He will take a watch to make things fair.
EDIT: Added a strength
Kallistiel Illuiadlara |
ACCELERATED INTRODUCTIONS: To introduce everyone again for Macavity's sake, I would appreciate if you would summarize what your character will share with friendly conversation. Feel free to shorten the post by referencing material in other places. Macavity will reciprocate. OR just send me a PM.
Kallistiel tends to keep to herself. She is a part of the Taldan faction and has ties with Taldan nobility. She dresses impecabbly and her clothing is of a form that is functional, yet stylish.
STRENGTHS & WEAKNESSES: We should probably volunteer our character's strength's and weaknesses. Please volunteer to fill any particular roles, e.g. chief negotiator, treasurer, etc.
++ Melee: High crit-range weapon, weapon training bonuses, double unarmed attack whenever someone misses her. No armor, average AC, ability to cancel one melee and one ranged attack per round. Can roll Sense Motive to replace AC as immediate action.
++ Quick to act: +7 initiative, always acts on the surprise round, Quick Draw
+ Mobility: 30' move, x5 when running, Mobility Feat
+ Knowledge: She has a broad base of knowledge with a +8 (1 rank) in each skill, although doesn't have the depth that others focused on such things have
+ Face/Social: Has 1-2 ranks in Bluff/Diplomacy/Intimidate and so can assist in that way. Has great Sense Motive (+15). A few ranks in Perform (Dance) so if we go to a ball, she can hold her own.
+ Perceptive: +12 Perception & low-light vision & as mentioned above +15 Sense Motive
+ Stealthy: +15 Stealth allows her to sneak around with the scouts
= B&E: Has a skeleton key so can open locks with a +10.
- Ranged: She has some thrown weapons that are affected by her weapon training bonuses, but that's it.
- Multiple melee: Can have issues with multiple opponents due to average AC and ability to cancel only one attack, although has some other tools (Sense Motive).
- Outdoors: Although can handle different environments and long duration movement, no Survival skill.
- Arrogant/Racist/Classist: She holds a high opinion of herself, her station, and her race. The only thing almost as good as an elf is a Taldan human, although Chelaxians have their moments.
- Clean freak: Dislikes filth, although understands it's occurrence while on the job. At other times, establishments should try to show some modicum of pride and keep their places pristine. First magic item she'll buy is a set of clothes that can shift to always be in fashion and automatically cleans and mends itself.
Not a spellcaster so can take a middle watch, although does need the full 8 hours since she doesn't have a RoS. Will need time to make sure her clothes are clean and boots polished.
Macavity the black |
Macavity's accelerated role-playing
@all, as described above, Macavity will politely interrogate all of you taking appropriate breaks as possible over the next two days.
For he's the master criminal who can defy the Law.
He's the bafflement of Scotland Yard, the Flying Squad's despair:
For when they reach the scene of crime--Macavity's not there!
Macavity, Macavity, there's no on like Macavity,
He's broken every human law, he breaks the law of gravity.
His powers of levitation would make a fakir stare,
And when you reach the scene of crime--Macavity's not there!
You may seek him in the basement, you may look up in the air--
But I tell you once and once again, Macavity's not there!
Macavity's a ginger cat, he's very tall and thin;
You would know him if you saw him, for his eyes are sunken in.
His brow is deeply lined with thought, his head is highly doomed;
His coat is dusty from neglect, his whiskers are uncombed.
He sways his head from side to side, with movements like a snake;
And when you think he's half asleep, he's always wide awake.
Macavity, Macavity, there's no one like Macavity,
For he's a fiend in feline shape, a monster of depravity.
You may meet him in a by-street, you may see him in the square--
But when a crime's discovered, then Macavity's not there!
He's outwardly respectable. (They say he cheats at cards.)
And his footprints are not found in any file of Scotland Yard's.
And when the larder's looted, or the jewel-case is rifled,
Or when the milk is missing, or another Peke's been stifled,
Or the greenhouse glass is broken, and the trellis past repair--
Ay, there's the wonder of the thing! Macavity's not there!
And when the Foreign Office finds a Treaty's gone astray,
Or the Admiralty lose some plans and drawings by the way,
There may be a scap of paper in the hall or on the stair--
But it's useless of investigate--Macavity's not there!
And when the loss has been disclosed, the Secret Service say:
"It must have been Macavity!"--but he's a mile away.
You'll be sure to find him resting, or a-licking of his thumbs,
Or engaged in doing complicated long division sums.
Macavity, Macavity, there's no one like Macacity,
There never was a Cat of such deceitfulness and suavity.
He always has an alibit, or one or two to spare:
And whatever time the deed took place--MACAVITY WASN'T THERE!
And they say that all the Cats whose wicked deeds are widely known
(I might mention Mungojerrie, I might mention Griddlebone)
Are nothing more than agents for the Cat who all the time
Just controls their operations: the Napoleon of Crime!"
+edit Macavity clearly recognizes her as a noble. She clearly would recognize him as a warrior servant. How she treats him is up to you, but Macavity will treat her with respect and deference.
Numair Nejem |
Numair is happy to have Macavity tag along. He tells him tales of his own exploits, folklore from Qadira, places he's been, creatures encountered, his lengthy family blood line and pedigree, Sarenrae's teachings, operas he's been in, tournaments won, women loved, friends, family, enemies, mentors, heroes, and his divine companion.
He is quite loquacious. Plus, having someone along with a good pair of eyes in their head is a good thing.

LM, would you allow a this item as something that could be purchased in game? Broach of Cleanliness If so, Elen will see one in a shop and purchase it for Kallistiel.
Ruul Spiritskin |
Ruul is first confused and then pleased. Macavity would be the first in a long time that was more interested in his beliefs than his race. The minotaur will happily explain what he can in an abbreviated manner.
If Macavity brings it up, Ruul will ask for more information about the Lord and brothers he's mentioned.
Ruul Spiritskin |
I have to say LM, I really appreciate the fact that you make aliases for the NPCs (with appropriately hilarious avatars).
That's a major 'extra step' in being a great PBP DM.

Macavity
Is there anything that leads Macavity to believe that? Some sort of prophecy? Holy scripture? Is there anything that he has to do to secure such a fate (live a life of high morals, etc)?
When Macavity brings up Ruul's place among his own kind, the bull is visibly conflicted. On one hand he enjoys the places that his mind and magic have brought him but on the other he still longs to have been a mighty minotaur warrior. If he had to choose one or the other he's not sure which he'd choose. Ruul will explain that no, most of his kind are focused solely on survival and strength and that he, like his cousin in Absalom, are different.

Thanks for the compliment. I've always found it boring to hear myself do all the talking :)

Though a little put off at first, the chance to practice speaking Tien and to reminisce about the events of a century ago helps Elen open up, and soon she's telling him of her travels. Macavity notices that the Tien she speaks sounds archaic to his ears, but that's not surprising considering how long ago she learned it.
Tea is a common interest and she asks him to show her the tea ceremony, as well as asking if he has any ingredients to share.

Macavity shrugs about any more details concerning the Terra-cota. He is not learned; the belief was just a given. You feel that there are great many things that Macavity may believe that have been trained into him bypassing any questioning.
As for Ruul's conflict, Macavity shares that he too finds the path of life unclear at times.

Macavity shows her the tea ceremony 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20 DC 15 Knowledge (Nobilty) as best as he can manage. He explains that he does not travel with tea, because he is not the host. He finds foreign the concept of recreationally drinking tea outside the ceremony, but he's willing to do anything once, especially if it is of particular interest to Elen.

Busy day at work and running a home game tonight. Sorry for my lack of post today. Should do better tomorrow, but then camping over the weekend so you will not hear from my Saturday unless its a post by phone.
Having a great time with the game, by the way. :)

Ok, only thing I'm noticing is that it would cost more based on the pathfinder wondrous item pricing rules, and 400 looks like the right price for it. I'll see about getting some in the game thread.

Heh I had a tattooed monk once that had a magic tattoo of an oriental dragon that would climb over my skin, clothing, and posessions, keeping them clean by eating the stains/dirt/debris. Glad I'm not the only one that likes hygiene.
Numair, coincidentally, can cast Prestidigitation as he is a bard.
Ruul Spiritskin |
Hmm, my stance on that is the same as the rings of sustenance you guys seem to love.
Eating and bathing are things Ruul enjoys. Why would you want to make them unnecessary?
Elen Emerwen |
Elen might buy a couple for the other ladies who aren't able to cast prestidigitation. On the other hand, wands of prestidigitation might be more useful. Or LM might say stick with the 100 gp price.
Calendir Elberen |
Adding to this the fact that Macavity is physically more than able to keep up with any sort of stunt that the pair can throw at him, allows the possibility for an easy conversation to have sprouted during the deepest, darkest hours of the night, when some of the half-orc's passion and knowledge of Nature shines through - not in a manner of reverence or awe, but as a nurturing and companionlike presence, even though this close to the Worldwound, as Calendir has already pointed before, many things seem askew in what the natural behavior of beasts and plants should be.
By the morning of next day, the amount of nods and half-words between the two over breakfast is proof enough that an understanding of one another seems to be spawning.

Busy day at work and running a home game tonight. Sorry for my lack of post today. Should do better tomorrow, but then camping over the weekend so you will not hear from my Saturday unless its a post by phone.
Having a great time with the game, by the way. :)
I'm glad you are enjoying yourself. I'm having a great time too.
I'll be out of town for a wedding starting tomorrow night and I won't be back home until Sunday afternoon. I hope to have at least a little internet access, but I'm not going to hold my breath for too long. So don't worry if you can't post on Saturday.
Lord Manticore |
How about it LM? What price would you like to set to keep us all nice and clean? :)
I'm going to stick with the listed price on this one. Yea I can see how the PF math works it out to 400, but if nothing else, we can always say you are buying in bulk/a gift from the society/you made it yourself, etc.
Elen Emerwen |
Macavity shows her the tea ceremony 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20 DC 15 Knowledge (Nobilty) as best as he can manage. He explains that he does not travel with tea, because he is not the host. He finds foreign the concept of recreationally drinking tea outside the ceremony, but he's willing to do anything once, especially if it is of particular interest to Elen.
Elen explains that tea is not primarily recreational, but rather a health measure, as the herbs have many benefits to the mind and the body.

Macavity intently listens like an interested student.
I'm going camping this weekend with the family with zero Internet. We're leaving after supper tonight returning after lunch Sunday. And yes, this game is great fun.
Cheers
