Good morning everyone, it's time to play ketchup!! I mean...catch up. :)
I will ask now, what are everyone's plans for the weekend (and by weekend, I mean Thursday through Sunday)? I ask because I'm planning my weekend out and I wanted to see what you guys are thinking.
Personally, I don't see posting on Thursday going on, it's a holiday and I'll be out part of the day anyway for turkey stuffing (that is, stuffing myself with turkey, LOL). I can post if everyone wants to, but I'm not asking you to do so. Same with Saturday, as the wife and I are going to the ren faire one last time before they close for the season. I won't be able to post at all that day as I'll be out from 6am till midnight.
That leaves Friday and Sunday. I know that Sundays tend to be slow (based on what I've seen so far), but I can send some posts along throughout the day. Friday is the same way, as most people are going to be off that day (for those of you who work retail, I'm sorry that your boss is a money grubbing jerk. ;) Those are the two days that I can post without much worry.
Let me know what your plans are and how much you want to post this coming weekend, and then we can go from there. I can tell you game-wise, that I plan to have the party sitting in Gundrun by the end of Wednesday (from the looks of the thread currently), so we'll get a little more role-playing in before we head up to the Camp.
Finally, has anyone pulled down a copy of the Mythic Adventures playtest yet? I looked at it yesterday, and I have to admit that it looks very cool. I am thinking about adding this to our campaign to see how well it works, but I would like some feedback first before I do anything. What do you guys think of it? Could we add it successfully and if so, would we need to tweak it?
:)

I will be spending a good bit of Thursday in the kitchen cooking food and then later eating food. Friday and Sunday should be fine for me to post quite a bit during. May be having a tabletop game Saturday, not sure.
Haven't gotten around to looking at the Mythic stuff yet.

![]() |

Traveling and eating Thursday. I can post early and late though. I'll be around until early afternoon Friday and then I am off to a campout. We have a tradition of camping the Friday after Thanksgiving with friends from high school and college. Been doing it a long time...
I'll be back home Saturday by 5:00 and all day Sunday.
I am not sure about the Mythic stuff either. I have not looked at it.

Kallistiel Illuiadlara |

I'm Canadian. My Thanksgiving was last month. I might be able to post a bit more than usual over the weekend, but other than that, it's business as usual.
As for the Mythic stuff, I've got the document, but haven't really looked into it too much. I had thought it more for Epic level games, but it looks like I'm a bit mistaken.

Ruul Spiritskin |
I'll be spending some time with the family on Thursday but I'll otherwise be around for the whole weekend.
I'm not a fan of Mythic and would prefer it to not be in our game.

I am over at Europe, no Thanksgiving over yonder, so it is a regular week/weekend also.
Regarding the Mythic playtest yes, I have read it, and think it may have potential in this campaign, depending on where we head and the way we face our challenges - it certainly seems to be the stuff that trials and heroes are made of :D
However, after perusing the rules, I am still unsure if there is still room for class advancement (I believe so, since it says somewhere in there that you keep on gaining experience as an adventurer, as well as mythical tiers through trials) - I am surely hoping that class leveling remains important, since it ends up defining a lot about your character.

My understanding is that the Mythic stuff is separate from regular XP, that is, you'll still gain XP as normal, but in order to gain 'tiers,' (their word), you have to perform trials, some of which are sort of open secrets (i.e. kill 1 enemy whose CR is higher than yours in the first round, known as 'lesser' trials, and some that I choose (i.e. kill the guardian of Tsar, for example) that you won't know about until it's been completed, known as 'greater' trials. So in the end, you could be CL 19, MT (Mythic Tier) 6, which they would describe as being roughly in power equivalent to a 25th or 26th level character/monster.

I will be able to post pretty consistently over this week, although only intermittently while at work, which I will be at on days other than thursday, saturday and sunday. I'll probably post some things on thursday even if no one else does.

Did I read back a few pages that we are supposed to roll for our resonant powers?
Resonant powers: 1d100 ⇒ 36=Misdirection (constant)
25% chance for non-Neutral: 1d100 ⇒ 18=non-neutral
Alignment: 1d8 ⇒ 6=Lawful Evil
Kallistiel detects as Lawful, Evil, magical, not lying, and other such properties of the stone. Joy. I think I would have preferred the non-random resonant power (protection from possession and mental control).
Anyone want to trade?

LOL I'll allow a re-roll in this case. Ignore rolls of 36 and 87.

Kallistiel Illuiadlara |

Lol. I'll think about it. It might come in handy for Kallistiel to detect as evil depending on the type of interactions later on. Then again it might be detrimental. She's already kind of a b****, so it's a believable alignment.

I wasn't going to be the one to say it...

I'll trade with you! Stones give unique resonances with different wayfinders. We have the same base stone - clear spindle. (Full disclosure. My stone made my wayfinder short out and nearly explode!)

Hey baby. Is there something new about you? I feel closer to you for some reason. We should hang out. :P

Lord Manticore |

From the sounds of it, it looks like there will be very little posting tomorrow, and some posting the rest of the weekend. From my point of view, I say take tomorrow off, and I won't be able to post on Saturday (the weather in Austin is looking nice, all the more reason to wear my kilt :). I'll be off and on the other days and we'll move along as we can.
In case I forget, or can't get back on tonight, I just want to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. :)

Kallistiel Illuiadlara |

LOL. Nice. And now Kalli, under the guidance of the imp, can swich alignments to LE in peace and claim it's just the stone.
I think Calendir is scared of speaking with Kallistiel... LOL. She's a brutal one alright but I'm loving her already :D
I think I'm getting a little scared of her myself. She's kind of a "mean girl" sometimes. Trying to keep much of her opinions to oblique comments or thought bubbles, but I guess some of it can be drawn out with the right bit of conversation. I don't want her to become a bully, or something just as vile, that causes strife or esteem issues amongst the other characters... We are supposed to be the good guys after all.
-------- Change of Topic --------
Say, did we get a list of what the bad guys had on them and in their rooms? I think I saw a reference to a Hat of Disguise. Anything else? I recall Digory pinging on the Detect Magic at some point too.
-------- Change of Topic #2 --------
You Americans (and any others who celebrate it tomorrow) have a happy Thanksgiving. I hear Black Friday is starting at mignight Friday morning in some places, so happy shopping too.

Happy Turkey Day to you all.
I think having a hard-line person on the team is a good thing, Kalli. I don't think she's any more disruptive than Ruul & Lavinia or Numair & Azaraunt. This is definitely an adult game and we all are mature players. Play the arrogant chick and let the good times roll.

Ruul Spiritskin |
No hard feelings at all.
Half the fun of playing a monstrous character is winning the naysayers over. =P
Happy Thanksgiving everyone (where applicable)!

Yea, it was posted as a spoiler to Azaraunt for the magic items. I can list them again tonight when I get home if you want.

Kallistiel Illuiadlara |

Ahh, OK. I found it. Just needed an idea on where they would be. Reproducing here with typical sale price (half purchase price):
+1 Studded Leather 587.5 gp
+1 Studded Leather (small-sized) 587.5 gp
+1 Mithril Chain Shirt (small-sized) 1050 gp
+1 Dagger (small-sized) 1151 gp
Cloak of Resistance +1 500 gp
Ring of Protection +1 1000 gp
Hat of Disguise 900 gp
Potion: Cure Serious Wounds 375 gp
Potion: Fly 375 gp
Potion: Protection from Evil 25 gp
Masterwork Violin 50 gp
Masterwork Thieves' Tools 50 gp
Dagger (small-sized) 1 gp
20 gp
20 sp
EDIT: Didn't Digory have a weapon? Or was it non-magical like the bard's dagger?

We do have some loot to divide. How shall we proceed? Shall we assign items as it seems best for the party? (my vote) Should there be some voting or rolling off for items that more than one player wants? Should we try to track value claimed against future claims by the same person?
Those items that no one is specifically in need of can be either sold or, in some cases, upgraded.
Here is the list of what we have to divide now with some approximate value (sell for half?).
Azaraunt is interested in the ring of Protection.
Small +1 studded leather (1160gp)
hat of disguise (1800gp)
tanglefoot bag (50gp)
dagger (small)
masterwork violin (small?) (100gp)
Small +1 mithral chain shirt (3000gp)
Small +1 dagger, (2302gp)
cloak of resistance +1 (1000gp)
MW thieves tools (100gp)
+1 studded leather (1160gp)
+1 ring of protection (2000gp)
Dagger
potion protection from evil (50gp)
potion fly (700gp)
potion CSW (700gp)
20 gp, 20 sp

I am good with items going to those who need them. I personally dislike tracking loot distribution down to the last copper piece. If only one person wants an item, its theirs. If two or more people want it, roll off, or work out a compromise (ie. I'll take the ring of protection +2 and give Jim the ring +1 and Tom gets the next ring we find). As long as people are happy with the items they get and no one is getting left out, I feel like it helps make sure we use as much of what we find as possible. I hate to sell items for half, but with the crafting magnates we have in the party, converting items to gold then back to crafting materials could be worthwhile.
The only item in that lot that Numair would want would be the Potion of Fly.

Ruul Spiritskin |
I would prefer some form of zero-sum loot distribution. In my experience (and from what we saw earlier) people spend gold a lot more freely when they don't know it's being tracked. Things end up a lot less lopsided if claimed loot/value is tracked.
With the spreadsheet I've already set up it wouldn't be hard to add a tab for this purpose.

![]() |

Calendir, is not really interested in any of the items, unless for the obvious potions, but I'm guessing fly should not be immediately needed, and since I will avoid the frontline, neither the ring nor Cure Serious Wounds.
Of course all of the above can be useful for everyone, but they should go for those who need it the most, I agree. Maybe the protection from Evil might be useful since I am probably the one with the worst will saves.
Apart from that, it can be sorted in any way, I'll take from whatever my share is to settle my debts.

Macavity the black |

I only have interest in the Hat of Disguise for scouting, but Macavity can already cast it once for 70 minutes per day. So meh.
I can take the tanglefoot bag if we need a place to store it. It would literally be a last resort tool for Macavity.
Everyone can use the potions, but they should be assigned them in case no one "wants" them.
Thanks for the bookkeeping Ruul. It's very important but tedious.
cheers
