Scarab Sages

One of my players wants to play a "fallen" Aasimar Anti-paladin, with the Angel Blloded subtype. I am leaning toward allowing it because it sounds cool...what do y'all think?

Dark Archive

If he survives to book 4 it will be an... interesting RP opportunity for you. I'd go for it myself.

I'd definitely allow it. Sounds very cool...

Spoiler:

And I would definitely have Ara Mathra in Book Three know all about the fallen PC and express his sadness at his fall.

But aren't anti-paladins CE? I thought it was a no C or G adventure. Not to say I don't think it's a cool concept, it's great. Then again, it got OK'd by the AP's writer so...

The article "How to Make a Villain" in the first book gives guidelines on allowing Anti-Paladins and Barbarians. All the classes are covered in some way. Except the naughty Paladin.

Scarab Sages

It allows for Lawful Evil Anti-Paladins. As far as barbarians go, I'd probably have to go case by case, based on the player and the concept, but i do not see why Anti-paladins are restricted to LE, and Paladins to LG anyway...I kinda think most Gods would have their "holy" warriors..just need to adjust the smite ability a bit...

There's an archetype for LE-specific antipaladins in Book Five (though it doesn't flat-out say that it alters the class's alignment, which it should).

I'll have to check that out. Sorry. Love the concept.

One of my players is doing exactly that. Angel blooded Aasimar Anti-paladin. One of her traits was Innocence... She runs around pretending to be a Paladin all the time. It's great.

As far as Anti-paladins being restricted to CE, I did away with that. Although I think one part of Anti-paladin really needs to change to fit LE, and that would be the disease carrier ability. Just doesn't fit with Lawful at all. I just don't know what to change it to.

I usually picture the LE anti paladin being very similar to the hellknight. Smite chaos instead of smite good because a LE champion of evil is going to be attacked by evil characters as much as good. He would be more focused on I AM THE LAW. Lg characters may be naive but they understand the need for laws and order. Neutral good do gooders traditionally don't plan very well. Cg and ce would be his main nemesis. Also id give poison use and swift poison abilities instead.of disease carrier.

Hi Gary!

Sorry this was the only way I knew how to ask you this question that I have not found the answer to;

What season (summer, fall, winter or spring) does the party start in in book 1 of WotW?

Thanks for the great game!

The Timeline is given in book 6.

July 24, Year 16 in the reign of King Markadian V
called the Brave (Day Zero): The PCs are brought in
chains to Branderscar Prison. They have no realistic hope
of escape and in three days will face just punishment for
a crime they did commit.

And it carries on for 5 years....
