One thing I have discovered in my life is that when you are arguing for a certain project (be it as simple as a class or an increase in your department's budget) prepare your proposal that includes MORE than you actually need. Because these things always get cut and slashed when it is being hashed out.
So, yes, I push for more changes, a greater balancing of the class against the real heavy-hitters of the martials, not because I expect to see that, but in the hopes that by pushing that so hard, we might actually get when we need.
Of course, nothing we do or say on these boards will affect what Paizo will do in the end, but old habits die hard.

Is it just easier to balance things out with spells or is it something else? I think there's some design flaw or sacred cow that keeps them from functioning because all the 3/4 BAB 6 level caster classes function beautifully and have great class features to use when not casting, but none of them(except maybe the bard and the bard abilities changed a lot from edition to edition) suffer from ideas and issues still ingrained from past editions.I don't know but the ninja kind of invalidates that you need spell casting to make a 3/4 BAB class good.
Rogue just need their talents buffed and they will be good. I mean some of the talents are a waste of space seriously hold your breath for a few rounds. One of the home brew rogues that consolidated a bunch of talents or tweaked existing one and I think improved the rogue immensely. I think if Paizo just did the same thing to the talents (consolidated and buff), most of the rogue's problems will be gone.
Agree, the rogue is poor because a lot of other things can scout, his traditional role, and do other things too. They can still perform their role. Personally, I think the rogue needs better talents and a talent at first level, and he's well on his way back in.
The monk's fix is tougher. He has many abilities but they are a grab-bag that don't work well together and worse, don't work well in any way that is helpful half the time. His BAB is a mess, and his primary weapon, while good on paper, suffers major nerfs. A level of MAD is acceptable, but in the monk's case it's ridiculous.
Couldn't Paizo make the Monk redesign a Paizo RPG Superstar challenge?
Now that is one seriously good idea!

Done. Whopping good idea, Axolotl. Here is the link to the new thread: Reimagining the Monk.

Agreed. A good number of things I've been in discussions about showed up and FAQ questions I've asked have regularly been answered.
But if you ask for the moon, you get dismissed as someone who can't be made happy.
I personally can be made happy with a very simple fix.
