As a Gm and a Player that just started this last weekend doing Society stuff, I do have to say that the "Race Boon" system was one of the things that bothered me about the Society in general. I like making Elves Rogues, and Gnome Alchemists, But I also like Sylphs Druids, and Kobold Sorcerers(Who aren't even available in Boon-form)
I can understand the reason they do it, but opening 3 races this year, including two insane powerhouses as Tiefling and Aasmir with their books, does set the stage for them allowing you access to a better selection.
Perhaps, yes. However, considering they just opened up those races after they'd been boons for as long as they had, I wouldn't expect the floodgates to suddenly spring open to allow all the other races to be open to everyone. Give it time.

Most certainly, I wasn't implying that they need to in any way change this in any near time. The Boon system is really great for drawing in crowds to large events, it's just unfortunate for people that cannot attend such events, due to time restrictions, monetary issues, or any other reason.
It's also unfortunate that there are no Kobold Boons... Why is there no love for the Little Dragon-Men. It's such a pathetically weak race, but I Love love love them so much, I have since DnD 3.0 TT.TT

Oh, I'm with ya there. If ever a Kobold boon is created and crosses my path, I will make my Dirty Trick fighting kobold duelist. He'll cut your belt to trip you with your pants, then kick sand in your eyes. All while cackling gleefully and taunting you. Because, yeah.

I would have to make either an Alchemist(because Bombs and Traps are Totally the same thing) or a Dragon-Blooded Sorcerer, because I'd be flying around without a care in the world, with my Scarlet Scaled Wings of Doom™ :D

Kobolds fall into the same bucket as Goblins in golarion. They just don't fit the campaign and the Golarion lore. Neither would have any motivation to join up with the pathfinders and explore the world for ancient relics and treasures. Goblins are wholly evil (which PCs are not allowed to be) and Kobolds are viewed by not much more than pests and vermin in most lands.
Both are great and fun in your homegames, but leave them there. Anytime I play in a homegame, I pretty much play something I will never do in society.

Goblins I understand, wholly evil little buggers who would hate to have to "cooperate" assuming they understand what that means.
But Kobolds as a society cooperate, and work together, and are only so often evil because the evil masters are really the only ones who will give them the chance to be useful. Just because a race is widely regarded as pests and weak does not make them unfit for the Society. A powerful, adventurous Kobold who can withstand the troubles of fighting and even potentially the painful diplomacy bull-crap should be allowed in the Society. If I had to pick a race to add a boon to, I'd say it should be Kobolds. I mean, Wayangs, Nagaji? Dhampir? Tieflings? all of those seem less likely to maintain a quality reputation in an organization such as the Society than a Kobold.

Personally, I'm all for keeping things a bit more restricted for the time being because as soon as these other races are opened up, we're going to see fewer of the core races because they're not as "special".
While that may be true for other regions, in mine, even the new wave of characters, out of a new wave of new characters of 15 or so, I only recall 4 being different core races:
Two Tieflings for a team conceptAn Aasimar Paladin Hellknight-to-be (me)
and a Nagaji Paladin
In the time of the new races, I've made two new characters (and the aasimar was only because I needed to make a new character on the fly.):
Said Aasimar Paladin
and a Half-Orc Skulking Slayer Scout
Also, I'm pretty sure lots of people will still play Humans just because variable stat bonus and bonus feat.

No more races open to the public, thanks. I'm only making my aasimar character because I've got a boon for it. I left 4e because I went weeks of play without spotting that looked anything like a normal PC. We looked like monsters, but the game world had to treat us like normal beings. I like to RP, but having hoards of PCs that don't match the in-universe lore kills it. Call me selfish, I don't really mind.

While I do feel that Aasimars and Tieflings are a little stat heavy. They don't have much/any negatives and have a lot of benefits, (dark vision, no neg ability score...etc.)
Aasimars and Tieflings are suppose to be "Humans" with celestial or infernal heritage in them, right?
Therefore they can't be that unusual to see on the streets of Absalom...?

So far, in my region, I have only seen two Aasimar characters out of a dozen total players in my burgeoning player base. So we're talking a sixth, or approximately 17 percent so far. I'm sure the numbers and percentages are even smaller in bigger areas.
The influx of new races is to be expected. They're new, they're shiny, on the surface they even look to be more powerful. But as with most new things, I am sure that it will calm down after a while. The great irony is that one of my players, who plays an Aasimar Bard, got his character to level 2 only to realize he doesn't like roleplaying that character, and is going to try something else instead--perhaps even one of the HEDGEHOG races.
I ran First Steps for a party last weekend consisting of a Tiefling, an Aasimar, a Tengu and a Half Elf. I killed half of them and the Tiefling player had built himself a replacement Aasimar by the end of the night...

These races were just opened, and they are already in flooding, which is fine, but expect them to take over in a hurry. I personally have a tiefling character already as well, but I also feel opening them up was a bad idea.
I'd also like to point out that for a human to get to +2's, he has to give up his bonus feat and skilled, the only things he has....
And I too half a half-orc skulking slayer scout...with a few other class levels in there to round him out.

Why? I find all the extra races to ... 'destroy' the image of the Inner Sea Region, which suddenly hosts numerous special humanoids. Tieflings I can tolerate because of Cheliax, though.
But having the streets of Absalom paved with guns is acceptable? Guns and Gunslingers are also way too common in PFS, so I can't see getting worked up over the three new races.

You know since I started play.. I've seen.. TWO gunslingers in PFS play.. with about 20 players total. I play one.. and there is one other player that plays them. Most folks are leery about the 'blow up' factor (I've had 1 misfire in 5 levels and the other player has had 4 in two levels)
I am the only one, so far, interested in playing ANY of the new races. I got one other compulsive character maker besides myself.. he's played around with the Aasimar, because like me.. he is trying to build a good paladin/monk build for one for the new prestige classes.

I just helped a new PFS player make her first PC.
Rakshasa-blood Tiefling oracle of fire who venerates Calistria. She's from the Sodden Lands and Does. Not. Want. to go back.
Seems fun. Looking forward to some wackiness, she's probably playing QfP 2 as her first session Monday.
First non-boon tiefling in the area I know of; several non-boon tengu around.

I've seen at least six gunslingers in PFS play, but many of my sessions were in a home game with no gunslingers. I have yet to see a gun blow up, but I have seen plenty of x4 criticals on touch attacks.
I'll be creating an Aasimar for my fourh character.

I've only seen one gunslinger in regular play in our area, and the last time I sat at a table with him he had ~5 misfires. The gun never blew up because he would either spend the grit to clear it or rotate to the next barrel (pepperbox pistol).

First of all, race/class combos will vary from region to region. I've played with one Gunslinger. Most Ninjas I've played with have dumped the teriyaki/soy sauce flavor and have been western meat and potatoes ninjas.
As for the races they let in, they all have Golorian Lore. Tiefling numbers have been on the rise since the accension of House Thrune, which have trigger a simular rise in the number of Assamir. Hence, they are uncommon but not rare. Tengu are found in the Shackles, and are written as the most expansionistic oriental race, as in members will walk around Kender style.
The elemental races have zero to little Golarion lore. If races should be given out as boons, I recommend ones that do go first. Of the ones not booned yet, Gillmen would be an example of what I'd like, simply because they have a cool Golarion backstory.
That said, I hope they give out few race boons.

True boss.. but we'll have to help Dom out with GMs next year then.. (He, his wife AND daughter) did the awesome job of helping our local folks out btw).
Hopefully by then I'll be confident enough to dm one or two events myself.
