I have been reading up on the Kitsune Trickster and noticed a fairly big omission.

The Kitsune's Charm class feature does not list what ability score is used to determain the DC.

It should be Charisma. Spell-like abilities use Charisma if nothing is specified.

From the Bestiary, under Spell-Like Abilities in Universal Monster Rules: "The saving throw (if any) against a spell-like ability is 10 + the level of the spell the ability resembles or duplicates + the creature's Charisma modifier."

Edit: But I agree that the ability should have specified it, as well.

@Are, but does the Bestiary set precidence for the game, also does the Universal Monster Rules hold true for PCs?

Mind, I like the Bestiary precidence better then the Rogue minor/major magic precidence(Int).

Ok, thought it was a bard ability.

Yes, universal monster rules apply to PCs as well, as does rules in the bestiary. Both of them when relevant, of course. There are only about 1 or 2 places in the rules where the PCs use different rules than the monsters.

In this case...I still think the intent is 10+1/2 your rogue level+ Charisma modifier. This is in accordance with all the other (Sp) abilities that PCs get.

Lantern Lodge

The Minor Magic and Major Magic rogue talents use Intelligence however, so that might set the president for rogues. Then again, the Magical Tail racial feat uses Charisma.

No, that's an exception, not a rule Mark -- that's why it's called out as being different.

Note that Spell-likes default to charisma unless otherwise specified, those two rogue talents specify otherwise, the charm doesn't.
