Has a third party publisher considered creating, say, 15 pre-generated PC's specifically built for a given Adventure Path, such as Skull & Shackles or Shattered Star?
When hosted my first game a few weeks with players who like me were less than experienced, we spent a bulk of our time with character creation and did not get very far in in the adventure. (Days of playing until the wee small hours are sadly over). Would love to have a quick an cheap way to fix this issue, and still give my players some fun options.

This was done for the Carrion Crown AP. Legendary games did it, and they did an awesome job, all of these characters are really great.
I think they have said they want to make more, but they haven't made them that I am aware of.
You can find the ones that are done Here
Cool stuff, thanks for the link. It looks cool, but I might never have found it otherwise, since they use therms "gothic adventure path" and "adventure path plugin".
Still could be a handy resource if my group ever touches that AP.

LG is going to make more, I am fairly sure a group of Jade Regent ones will be out next month but I could be wrong.
They have to use gothic adventure path and adventure path plugin for legal reasons.
They also have some side trek adventures that tie in well with Carrion Crown and a magic item book. The plan is to do a series of books for all the AP's, I believe eventually.

D_M has it right - we are planning to release the "Imperial Heroes" product next month, also created by the esteemed Mr. Neil Spicer and chock-full of amazingly detailed characters with great illustrations by Hugo Solis. These are excellent for use as stock NPCs with rich backstories and personalities, or as replacement characters for PCs that fall in the course of the campaign (or even just as neat PC ideas that someone might want to just take and run with). Each character is detailed for both 20-point buy and 15-point buy, with suggested advancement options from 1st through 4th level.
I should also point out that while these products are tailored for synergy with the adventure path in question, they are absolutely usable for any kind of campaign. Sure, they will have a bit of horror flavor in their backstory and themes (for Gothic Heroes) or of east-meets-west (for Imperial Heroes) or of... perhaps exploring and settling a rough wilderness kingdom, just as a for instance...
Regardless of your campaign, though, the point is that these products are a great addition to a GM's arsenal, with fully realized characters, ready to use at a moment's notice. Check out Gothic Heroes at the link above and be on the lookout for Imperial Heroes next month and for further products in this product line!

Absolutely. Throwing in my two cents, this is something we've found a market for...so we'll be doing more. I've already mapped out a series of 8 pregen PCs for at least half of the APs. So far, only we've only produced content that dovetails with the Carrion Crown and Jade Regent APs. But we'll be doing more...

Thanks for the helpful info. I purchased Gothic Heros and it is indeed top flight. If they had the same kind of thing for budding pirates, my players would have had the opportunity to do more than swab the decks and catch turtles the other night. Look forward to see what you come up with in the future.
