What are Your Favorite Pathfinder Monsters?

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

Pathfinder has a ton of monsters that I think are hella cool and I absolutely love (Jaberwocky anyone?). I am planning some adventures and I'm curious what monsters do you feel are just plain awesome? Special emphasis on monsters that don't get much love.

Are you looking for any particular level?

I like all kinds of fiends personally.

Vampires, Lycanthropes, Zombies, Ghouls, etc, pretty much anything that can turn you into one of their kind. What better way to screw with your players than having them fight a member(s) of their own party?

Also, Ambush monsters: IE anything that can cause fogs, environmental changes and so on to twist the terrain in their favor before sneak-attacking the party.

Any CR. I was just wondering what some of people's favorite monsters were.

Are there any specifics that you really enjoy and wish saw more love in adventures?

For example, I love the jaberwocky. I think it's awesome that they included one of many Lewis Carrol monsters and what they did with it looks like it would be hella cool to throw a party against.

I'm wondering what other monsters folks get excited about either facing or slaughtering... er I mean, challenging their party with.

Wights are always nice. The PCs react as if it were a regular old zombie till it starts tearing them apart.

Vampires, liches, and graveknights are pretty awesome as well. Dragons. And demons. Can't forget the demons. But if I were to pick, my favorite monster of all would have to be the red dragon. Classic.

Got to be the Bandersnatch. Kind of high CR but the thing is vicious mean.

Great suggestions. Keep 'em coming! :D

The Keketar Protean I had to look up but I remembered it once I saw the picture. I never looked at the stats though, that's a nasty one.

The Bandersnatch is another Lewis Carrol monster. Very very weird and Paizo's is WAY cooler than the one in that terrible movie.

Gotta love the undead. Dragons and demons are iconic of fantasy RPGs too. The fine folks at Paizo have introduced some great new takes on all. Kyuss' plethora of baddies anyone?

I know Age of Worms is 3.5 not Pathfinder. Don't judge me!

I love Giants.
Big fan of the Ettin.

Giants are pretty iconic too and again, Paizo has done some good work to make them fresh and interesting.

Silver Crusade

Slaads underused underappreciated

My favorite monster is probably a medium sized Kodama Kami, refluffed to have the appearance of a Spriggan. All their abilities match perfectly.

Baykok, I love those guys.

Liberty's Edge

Holy thread resurrection Batman!

Those are some monsters I probably never would have looked at twice before. Also, slaad are pretty awesome. I used to use them a lot back when I played Planescape all the time.

With Bestiary 4 out soon I am excited to see Grandaddy Cthulhu.

Dragons.. Bugbears. Succubi. Ghouls. Unicorns. Goblins.

I like the classics.

I love the thrasfyr.

Especially with this awesome picture.

Where is that picture from???

Daemons, Kytons, and Qlippoth. I also in general like monsters with folklore or other "real world" origins, so I would throw in a lot of the fey and lovecraftian monsters (Migo!) as well.

Deviantart. It's by beastysakura, and I vastly prefer it to the image given in Bestiary 2. This one. The Bestiary image is cool, I admit, but not quite as badass.
