Which one? I picked it up some time ago, but started watching from 1st episode again to fresh up my memory. It's more-or-less 10 years since I watched it and then I only got to the end of the Lightning God arc. I know there's Nami and Nico Robin (I liked Princess Vivi, but she was only in one arc). I also heard about some Boa chick.

I disagree that this is Forrest Gump. Gump always knew the right thing to say and right action to take. Gump would be 7 INT, 18 WIS.
Me too but for a slightly different reason:
Cha 20
Bullied at school, didn't appear to have many friends a college - though made the football team, one real friend in the army. Doesn't scream Cha 20 to me.

I wouldn't put his Wis quite as high as 18 either. Champion Table Tennis player and good soldier - Dex is clearly his highest stat, with a bit of Str and Con.

Gurren Lagann, the show with the most epic final battle ever.
Never heard of it.

And Kamina is obviously a genius - nobody else could come up with a line like: "Don't believe in yourself. Believe in me! Who believes in you!"
Actually that's stupid, but thanks to high Charisma it sounds clever and inspirational. Remember, it doesn't matter what you say, what matters is how you say it.

It's on Hulu if you have access. Go watch. It's also one of the closest parallels to how 3.5/Pathfinder character power developes on the Fast table with very little regard for any kind of practical reality (like actual training) that I have ever seen. "From zero to hero in no time flat," is quite accurate.

Any US President in the Modern Era, A television "We don't charge you a dime if we don't win" injury attorney, Vince from Slap Chop all fall into the charismatic but dumb pool.
If you want to go the CHA = Pretty route: Fabio, Stereotypical Dumb Blonde, Any of the Alphas except Stan Gable (too high INT) or Ogre (too low CHA) from Revenge of the Nerds, Most of the frat on Animal House.

Man, don't tell me sarcasm is now becoming a lost art too.
And actually, no, it is not stupid - but it certainly isn't glaring genius either. However, Kamina came up with the exact right things to say to get Simon going again - that is Wisdom right there.

Inspirational speech via diplomacy check sounds more fitting to me.

No, but sometimes it is very difficult to tell from a snippet of text as opposed to a lengthy discourse or spoken words.
That is why many people will put something like
[/sarcasm]
to indicate the preceeding was a sarcastic comment.

When you have a really high charisma---and I interpret a 20 as being about 5 sigma, people interpret your other qualities with a massive halo effect, and not only that, when forced to cop to your weaknesses, they look at them as endearing rather than annoying or dangerous. Think SNL's sexual harrassment skits.
