GM - it can also depend on the location of the Familiar. In the case you mentioned, your equipment and all you're carrying goes invisible so the Cat should go invisible, too, if it was in a position near the person with the Familiar, as seen Here.

Well, if the alchemist continues to move through the various poisonous gases attacking people in our party, one could assume she is immuned or has one hell of a good resistance. ;)

Unfortunately, I don't think Adular has enough lesser restorations to heal all the ability damage done to multiple players (half of us have suffered WIS, INT, CON and/or STR damage). We may need to find a temple if we survive this and get out without further ability damage (We will need multiple healing/restoration each - definitely some greater restoration would be useful).

Adular only has two lesser restorations prepared and a restoration I believe from looking at his spell list.

Rain has WIS, INT and CON damage. Variel has WIS, INT and STR damage. I believe Flynn and Variel have CON damage and some other (WIS or INT?). Jiro has CON damage I believe... and Jamba has something I can't quite remember at the moment. Anyone else with ability damage I haven't mentioned?

I'm fine with the existing lemures going to go down and help them out instead of one of us who doesn't have poison immunity. But you posted this in an earlier (3 posts ago) entry: He looks around for the alchemist ready to point out her location, and calls out for his devils to back up Adistan and Adular, and help them escape. So if they're helping Adular and Adistan, then how are they also free to help Amen-set and Flynn?

Well, on the plus side, it may not be too bad of a situation (hopefully).

I mean, I'd like to think if Horatio went in and moved to Amen-set and shut the door behind him then that could possibly keep out the bulk of the poisonous gas (or at least the gas that destroys his Con, especially since the gas will kill both Amen-set and Horatio regardless of their saves very soon). Failing that, I'm hoping he can simply move her to the pantry and shut that door as extra protection (this assumes he doesn't need to make some kind of Strength check to move her or something) although at this point I'm just hoping that the damaged door he smashed open will be able to offer enough cover.

At this point I'm not entirely sure what's up with the gas until the map is updated, but I'm hoping it won't be too bad, but we'll have to see.

Also, I'm not clear how far this poison gas is able to travel. I mean, if it's going to fill the entire building then we're all pretty much screwed, though having a creature smash open the shutters while Adistan's earlier wind spell (which I think is still in effect) could then move the poison out of the building as a whole - that seems like a possible plan, too.

But to be honest - regarding how it will happen, or the mechanics or dynamics to make it happen - I mean, I'm just hoping this combat gets done with ASAP.

We have the Caster in our grasp - she's blind and should be dead (and given what she did to Amen-set she will be dead as soon as Horatio sees her - assuming Rain didn't kill her with her pike - though I may end up simply meta-game his personality if you guys want her alive).

Anyhow, I guess we'll see what happens next.

If both of Rain's attacks hit and Neko's magic missiles - means she's just copped 45 pts of damage from the pair. Rain's had enough of Zarskia's antics. Whether she lives or dies isn't Rain's concern anymore. Getting everyone out alive is. ;p

The assassin we caught, Giles Halmis, told us (via interrogation onboard the ship) that the nasty bird man (Corlan, the tengu we went in search of for answers - his cottage was atop the cliff) was his last mark. I think that's because it's a little tricky to keep track of things after so much time has passed in RL (at least it is for me). Hopefully that will be all over now and we can get back to normal :)

But here's a side question -

While that's our formal motivation for why we're here (as in; getting information) as a follow-up question, I can't remember why we need the information at all. I mean, someone hired Giles to kill the Tengu - but why should Giles killing the Tengu bother us again?

I know that may sound like a silly question, too; but I've lost my notes on this and I honestly don't remember why we need the information.

Flynn, there's a lot of information pertaining to how we have gotten to this point. Main (abridged) pts are:

We received a secret letter when we were at Tidewater Rock, asking us to retrieve our Letter of Marque from the Hurricane King. Later we found out it was sent by Tessa Fairwind (Lord Captain, Mistress of Quent and Motaku Isle), whose eye we caught via news of our sea exploits (and later our performance during the Free Captains Regatta). We had sent a letter of petition to the Hurricane King, Kerdak Bonefist, and via his representative, Tsadok Goldtooth we were put through our paces, via trials, before finally succeeding and receiving the Letter of Marque and title as "Free Captains" from Bonefist in Lucrehold.

At dinner with Tessa in Quent, she asked us to help her as ally Free Captains. We were asked to pursue rumours of an invasion plot by Cheliax (kill or capture any spies in the process) and bring the information/evidence back to Tessa. She gives us two starting places: 1. House of Stolen Kisses in Quent, where Calistrian Priestess Dindreann tasks us with recovering the Golden Vespal from the missing ship 'the Lady's Sting' in return for information on the spies and 2. Temple of the Hidden Name in town of Beachcomber on Bag island, where the Halfing Cleric, Slip, tasked us with seeking out the Brine's Banshee and discovering the secret of its speed and manoeuvrability (which came from the ship's magical Wheel which we later returned with).

Slip told us of a water naga named Sarlis, who claims to know the location of a smuggler and spy for a foreign power. Sarlis resides on the Slithering Coast (and we're yet to go there).

Dindreann told us of Half-Elf scrimshander, Jaymiss Keft, who we found in Carver's Hall in Drenchport. He gave us the information that a local beachcomber/fisherman named Haddon was conducting smuggling trips and also blackmarket stuff out of his cottage. We found him dead in his cottage holding a carving of a tengu - and through Jaymiss discovered Haddon had a good friend, a tengu named Corlan, who lived in Hell's Harbour (apartment on the edge of Hell Harbour's Tengu rookery). Haddon had been ordered to report on the movement of ships visiting Drenchport, especially those belonging to the Master of the Gales. Haddon's main contact was Roweena Kellet (quartermaster in the employ of Arronax Endymion - the lord of Hell Harbour and a formal admiral in the Empire navy). Roweena managed two warehouses and had gone missing.

When we found Corlan the Tengu and he opened the door of his apartment, he was shot with arrows laced with poison by an assassin, who we later caught - Giles Halmis - who then upon interrogation told us that Corlan had been his last mark and that he had killed Haddon and Roweena before him under order/contract of Zarskia Galembar of the Jasperleaf Apothecary in Port Peril. She also supplied him with the poison to use. And thus why we are here, now, fighting the apothecary, as we wanted to know why she ordered the kills and what she knows.

I hope this helps alittle. In between all those quests (and chasing up leads) was a lot of combat with various monsters/enemies and finding other things such as the Old Chelish Opera written in Infernal (which we had translated in full) and the small jet-black box made of material not of this world that Flynn is currently holding onto. There was also subtle whisperings that Shanxia was somehow involved in all of this, too, adding to Variel's mysterious past.

Thanks for the info. I know Temmer's not privy to any of it in character, but it helps a lot.

FWIW, Horatio, I find adding a "Plot Details" (or similar) spoiler to my character sheet really helps. I add links to posts that carry a lot of exposition or detail so I can refer back to them. I definitely can lose track of why my characters are doing something in a PBP and that way I can refer back quickly.

Normally I keep a lot better notes on Word Document; unfortunately, I accidentally saved over my notes with another file somehow, so that kind of messed me up.

There was no reference in Immortal's earlier narrative that Zarskia drew the vial and then hurled it (which would provoke).

Hmm... that's possible, but it sounds like when it said "another" that it was on their person, rather in their hand, which really sounds like you'd both get the AoO - but I guess we'll see ;)

That said I think we all need to know what's going on with the gas before we can act. It's just sitting there and I don't know if it's actually doing that or the map just isn't being updated. Right now Adular and I are stuck in this room with no way to safely get out because of the gas.

Immortal: What happened to the kamadan in the above room filled with poison? Did it die, still shut in that room or is it somewhere lurking at the moment? The token for the creature isn't on the map anymore, thus my question.

Sorry, Jamba, after getting hit again, Rain isn't in a "let's talk" mood with Zarskia. Plus, she doesn't think nor trust the woman would share any true information at this stage - not if she hired the assassin to kill the three sources (Haddon, Roweena and Corlan) and provided the poison with which to do it. It seems she's covering up whatever is going on by removing the weakest links. But we'll see what Zarskia does next. ;)

In the meantime, now we have penetrated her invisibility and she's literally taking Bleed Damage from the Blindness from where her eyes were bleeding out.

Her only chance is to beg for mercy at this point and hope that Horatio doesn't just double-tap her when he eventually meets her (assuming Rain didn't already kill her).

If she won't surrender on her turn, she's dead.

If she does surrender on her turn - she's probably dead anyway, but she may have a chance.

Jamba: To clarify a bit better Horatio's angst with the caster - there is another reason I'm eager to just kill her; I just want this combat to be over.

I had a bit more information about this, but simply put, I am simply not having fun with this combat and I just want it to be over and at this point I'm prepared to do anything (including killing the informant without getting information) if it means it will be over and we can go back to posting once a day and be able to do some Social RP.

I honestly don't know how to make that happen at this point and if any of you have any suggestions on what I can do to make it end, please send me a PM and tell me what I can do to make it happen and I will do it.

I hope no one is upset with what I wrote and I will see you all tonight and I hope you all have a good day :)
