Liberty's Edge

Miss Satome nods a bit. "Then, greetings again Misaki, and Hoissuru. (Whistles in Japanese) One of my first missions here was to a siege tower as well. My third one in fact. You would think that Absalom would tear them down instead of leaving them standing, due to all the infestations they get."

Satome smiles with the thought of the shrines. "There should be a keeper of the shrines to keep them well maintained. He or she should be able to teach you a bit of the main Tien Xia deities. Including Shizuru of Heaven." She shrugs a bit before continuing. "Before you ask, Misaki, I am a Pantheist, I pay heed to many gods of our homeland. They each, I feel, that they all represent a part of life back home." Satome claps once and holds her hands together and quietly gives prayer for a second. Once done, she smiles back to Misaki.

Silver Crusade

"I know the names of the main gods of Tian Xia. But the only one I really know anything about is Shizuru, and that's because Whistles told me. He said Shizuru chose me to wield a katana, fight to protect the innocent, and honor my ancestors. But I don't even know who my ancestors are, or why Shizuru chose me, or how Whistles knows so much, or why he can speak, or even if he's telling the truth."

The bird had continued preening his feathers on her shoulder until that last part. But at being accused of lying, he lets out an angry squawk and pecks at her cheek.

"Hey!!! Stop that!!!" Misaki shields her face from the bird's fury, and pushes him a little, so he falls from her shoulder.

Silver Crusade

Whistles starts flapping his wings as soon as he falls off the armored shoulder, and takes to the air. He does a lap around the room, flying up near the ceiling, before eventually landing on Satomi's shoulder.

"ISSLES!!!" He introduces himself.

Silver Crusade

"Hey Whistles, do you have some sort of direct line to this Shizuru? Could you tell me what sort of relationship my father had with her?"

Liberty's Edge

"I doubt Whistles knows how to get in direct contact with the goddess." Satome tilts her head away from the bird. "Her favored animal is a carp."

Silver Crusade

Whistles chirps angrily at Satomi, then flies back to Misaki's shoulder. He goes back to preening his feathers as if nothing had happened, and he was just an ordinary bird who doesn't understand the conversation.

Silver Crusade

Haaaa haaa haaa. Whistles is clearly smarter than he lets on.

Silver Crusade

"Oh yes. In private, he talks to me, but he doesn't say much around strangers."

"I can understand why Shizuru wouldn't send a carp to guide me to my destiny. I'd never have noticed it. Back in Kasai, the only animals I really paid attention to were the songbirds in the park. Whistles got my attention while I was whistling with them one day."

Silver Crusade

Hmm. Can you communicate to Whistles through whistles...I mean through whistling to him?

Liberty's Edge

Miss Satome shrugs when the upset bird flutters its way back to Misaki. "My apologizes. I tend to focus more on what is in the books than the actual followers."

She ponders a second before continuing. "Maybe Shelyn helped out in that regards. Her favored animal is a Songbird, similar to Whistles. Or! Maybe it is stuck in that form?" She takes a breath.

"I wouldn't know. The Gods and Goddess I know, their heralds and followers, not so much." Miss Satome shrugs once again.

Silver Crusade

"The Gods and Spirits work through more then single favored things and creatures"says the large scared Half-Orc with a white and gold feathered chicken at his feet "Shizuru is Women, women like birds so she sends bird to women follower instead of carp or carp had trouble walking to park to talk to you"

Liberty's Edge

Miss Satome turns to the Half-Orc and chicken. "Er, yes. That is true." She bows her head towards the Half-Orc. "Greetings, my name is Satomi Mika of...." Miss Satomi sighs. "Of... Oh, Never mind." She waves a hand in front of her face for a second. "As I was saying, it is nice to meet you. May I ask of your name?"

Silver Crusade

The half orc stands his cloak falling to the side to revile Tien style armor and Ulfen clothing and weaponry..."Kjar the Vættirjarl, Body Guard of the famous Gullinkambi while on his quest to kill Baba Yaga" he motions to the Chicken " Shaman to the Eldest and the Kami"

Liberty's Edge

Miss Satome raises an eyebrow for a second before speaking. "A shaman? So like a shrine priest in Tian Xia. Ones that speak with the spirits of the land. What a wonderful moment to meet you. Have you met any Kami here in the Inner Sea?" She tilts her head slightly as if she just noticed something. "Er... I don't mean to be rude or any disrespect, but who is this famous "Gullinkambi"? His name has me envision the jungles of Garund."

Silver Crusade

...the big Half-Orc points to the Rooster at his feet "Gullinkambiis Ulfen Spirit Bird of the First World hatched from egg taken from the Hen that vile witch hag used to make hut. How do you not know of Gullinkambi perhaps you sleep in pathfinder chronicle classes or do not know how to read?"the half orc seems saddened by the latter prospect.

Liberty's Edge

Bluff: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
Miss Satome looks down at the rooster in question. ... Huh? She then looks back up at Kjar. Than back down at the rooster, and then back at the him. She closes her eyes and turns her head away for a second before looking at Kjar with a stern face. "I did not know I was speaking to the most honorable Gullinkambi. I did not know he looked like a Nihon'ashi no rōsuto no shokuji*."

She gestures in a slight bow towards the rooster. She stands straight again before continuing.
Slight of Hand: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19
"Now, they did not once mention anything of the like of Gullinkambi anywhere. Not in History class, nor in Geography class either back within Skyreach. Nor in any of the chronicles I have looked in while stationed at Skyreach. Admittedly, there are many Pathfinder Chronicles out there. Is he in a more recent one?"

Sense Motive 11:
Satome seems rather offended by the half orc.

*Minkaian, Tien Lingustics 15, of Lingustics 20:
She called the rooster a, roasted meal on two legs.

Perception 19:
She does a slight gesture towards the Bird

Perception 19 and from Tian Xia:
It looks like she made a rather rude gesture to the bird.

Silver Crusade

What, we now bow to the bird?
Temπ bows to the rooster.

Liberty's Edge

Miss Satome turns to the man in white with a raised eyebrow when she sees him bow towards the bird. "Ah, erm, no. I was just giving proper greetings to it. Though there are among many other things that are more proper"

Silver Crusade

Yoshimi stifles a chuckle at Satome's quip. "I've never heard of Gullinkambi either. Surely I'd remember such a beast if I had."

in Skald:
"I think the young lady has taken a fancy to him in fact. I bet she'd love for you to tell her of his great and no doubt incredibly lengthy list of pedigrees and accomplishments."

Silver Crusade

Temπ's cheeks puff up as he slowly blows out air, all the while his eyebrows pushed high. Then he shifts back to his relaxed smiling self.
I just gotta chalk it up as another opportunity to learn something new.

Silver Crusade

"Kjar understands Minkaian, mother was of Goka Merchant Clans. Perhaps clanless women should not wonder about Kami not showing selves to her when she threatens to eat Shaman Spirit Guides and we pray she may find her way to magokoro without them." he gestures to the traditional weapons of a ninja such as the kusarigama Satomi carries , and it becomes obvious the Tien style armor he wears wasn't just picked up some where for its looks."Perhaps Assasin should read religious texts to find Gullinkambi's kind and Volume 27, page 12, detailing Durven Gest on his ways over Crown of World and the oddities of the First World while in Ulfen Lands on way,Or Historic text about Baba Yaga and her Magic Hut with Chicken Legs."

He looks down at Gullinkambi and pauses to listen then speaks rapidly in Sylvan"She alluded to eating you I don't know why you are defending her by pointing out the vagueness of the Chronicles. I am not being Rude, and I fail to see why you liking Kofusachan Rice matters in this conversation."

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9 Fails to notice the Disrespectful gesture.

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22 notices the irritation and direspectful attitude though.

Silver Crusade

Whistles flies down from Misaki's shoulder and lands in front of the rooster.

"ISSLES!" he introduces himself to the other bird, then more quietly whispers to the rooster "So do you speak Common?"

Silver Crusade

Misaki watches the whole exchange in wide eyed wonder.

perception: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (14) - 1 = 13
sense motive: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (9) - 2 = 7

Minkaian is her native language, so she understands the comment, but doesn't catch the sarcastic tone or gesture that went with it.

"I've stopped eating birds since meeting Whistles. He gets offended", she tells Satomi.

She curtseys to Kjar "It is nice to meet you, noble warrior."

She then curtseys to the rooster. "And you, sacred spirit."

Silver Crusade

Ooh, so that's more proper.
Temπ curtseys to Kjar and then to the rooster.
Now I understand.

Silver Crusade

Misaki laughs, but quickly realizes she's being rude, and covers her mouth with her hand and tries to stop.

"I'm sorry to giggle, Tempi. But no, that's not quite right, either. Only women curtsey." She demonstrates the move. "Men should always bow." She demonstrates, but not quite as gracefully, as it's something she's not used to doing.

Silver Crusade

Temπ nods in understanding.

Sense Motive (DC 15):
...but is also attempting to hide his blushing by bowing.

Thank you for the clarification.

Liberty's Edge

Miss Satome sighs when she notices the comment from Misaki. "I will point out that I did not once mention about eating him. That would be rude." She points to Kjar. "But you on the other hand, insulting someone's intelligence when you have just met, is."

Satome takes in a deep breath, trying to calm herself. "And yes, I am a ninja. I was taken in and trained, and my services were acquired by Lady Amara Li in Goka, and I assisted in her endeavors to find the Way of the Kirin." She looks away slightly. "But with her joining The Way of the Kirin, she became only a liaison to the Society afterwards. So I had to find a new group. So the reason I do not mention a clan, is that I do not know my first clan, and what I considered my second, split apart."

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19
She notices the sudden change in Kjar's posture, and Tempi's red face.

She stands straight and tilts her head to the side, reading Kjar's body language. "And I did mention before, I did not mean to be rude for my lack of knowledge. I truly have not heard of him before. We have all heard of the Mother of Witches. But the minute details we don't always receive." Satome does a gentle gesture to Gullinkambi. "And I can tell that Gullinkambi has spoken to you. Did he admonish you for your actions?"

Silver Crusade

"Ohh yes, Kjar is sure he misunderstood you calling Gullinkambi a walking roasted Meal, getting caught and continuing deception is with out honor, and Amara Li is still Venture Captain of the Goka Lodge and in the Society."

Liberty's Edge

An unassuming young Tian-Min man enters quietly. Upon seeing that he is in the company of other Pathfinders, his features shift into that of an anthropomorphic grey and white fox.

"I could not help but overhear some of your conversation. Are there indeed kami here? I have not seen any since leaving the Forest of Spirits."

Silver Crusade

What is a KAMI?

Liberty's Edge

Miss Satome replies quickly to Kjar. "I have not once lied. I did not know of your Rooster. And yes, Lady Amara Li is still with us. And yes, she still overlooks the Goka Lodge. But she has stepped away from being a Venture Captain." She points to Kjar. "But insulting someone whom you just met is something you cannot deny. Being Holier-Than-Thou does not help you."

Satome glances at Gullinkambi before looking back at Kjar. "And another thing. That rooster would have to be positively ancient if he truly is an offspring of a regular hen that was used in the making of that witches hut! The Mother of Witches, from what I know, has been around for a very long time. Otherworldly even. So what is he truly?" She crosses her arms across her torso, continue to glare at the Half-Orc.

Liberty's Edge

"Kami are guardian spirits tasked with protecting the natural world. The Forest of Spirits is full of them. My clan and village are even named after one."

Silver Crusade

...pointedly ignores and shuns Satome at this point and talks to the others"Spirit guardians and fey creatures are in many places most do not care to be seen and simply work as the natural order dictates them to."

Silver Crusade

"Satomi, when did Amara Li step down as a Venture Captain? I spoke to a few pathfinder about a year ago who recovered an artifact for her from Wanshou, and she was still very much engaged in Venture Captaincy then."

Liberty's Edge

Satome looks over to Yoshimi and sighs. "I meant when she left as leader as the Lantern Lodge. I was there when she decided to end it and become a liaison of the Way of the Kirin. I know Lady Amara Li still holds the title of Venture Captain, and oversees the lodge in Goka, but she doesn't keep much contact with the Society. Unless it has something to do with the Way or the Lodge itself in Goka."

Silver Crusade

"Perhaps, as a field agent, you aren't privy to the communication that goes on between her and other Venture Captains and the Decemvirate? That aside, what you just said is a far cry from your earlier comments that she's only a liaison to the Society now and not a Venture Captain."

Liberty's Edge

"Perhaps." Miss Satome looks down at the floor for a few seconds. "I wish there was more... Contact? Lady Amara Li seems so distant right now. Just like Tian Xia." She looks back up to Yoshimi. "I have heard of that mission. To that Monster country. I haven't heard particulars, but if I am correct, it was for an artifact for the Way. Not much contact since."

Though, I have heard of a rumor. I can't say if it is true, but I heard a group will be sent to Tian Xia. But I do not know if they will see Lady Amara Li. Nor the actual mission might be. In fact, that is part of my reason here." She gestures widely behind her. "Praying to the Gods and Goddesses of home to see that group on their way." Satome stands normally again, bit more relaxed that earlier. "I do hope they bring word from Lady Amara Li. And what else is happening there."

Silver Crusade

In walks a Tian-Min looking women who stands 5'7" tall thats rather slim looking with long black braided hair down her back and almond shape amber color eyes. She is wearing studded leather armor and has a bow in her right hand and a pack slung on her back. She has a 6' tall Allosaurus by her side wearing leather armor and a pack saddle with adventuring gear on it. Greetings All I am a new addition to your faction. My name is Yumiko Yukimuar and my friend her is Shelbey. I am a new pathfinder and I hope to aid the society and make my fortune. She walks over to a table with Shelbey following and unloads the saddle and saddle bags. Lossing her armor some. Bar keep may i have a meal some tea and a large chunck of raw meet for shelby?

Silver Crusade

"Right! Um. Coming right up." As a woman speaks from back behind the bar. You can hear a man speaking and peeks out from the back room and then goes back doing what he is doing.

Afterwards a half elven woman of Kelishite decent carries to platters out. One with a already prepared meal and another with a haunch of a cow. She sets them on the table and smiles. "Ay. Greetings Miss..." She looks back to the bar and the man looks out and mouths something. "Ah, sorry. Greetings Yumiko. We welcome you to the Society and Silver Crusade. I have recently joined as well, but have not been sent out on anything yet. Not even my own Confirmation. And-" She looks at the two platters resting on the table, and notices that the meal has been given to the dinosaur and the raw meat given to the woman. "Oops." She goes about switching them around so the proper creature has their meal.

Silver Crusade

In walks a young tiefling, dressed in travels robes. His backpack is looks wet as the rain from outside has hit it. As he sees the dinosaur and the young women talking he smiles. Good to be home again. My name is Hekra Hawstorm. I have recently returned from Mwangi Expanse. If you ever go there make sure to take plenty of water and be good shape. He stairs at the dinosaur lost in thought and then says How rude am I! To whom do I pleasure of talking with? Also may I get drink something dark please. Hekra pulls up a chair next to women. He smells like incense and wet leather.

Silver Crusade

After she gives the correct meal to them, she sees the tiefling walk in and takes up a chair next to the tien woman. Listening to him, she smiles and her eyes glow green slightly. "My name is Heather Morlyn. It is nice to meet you." Nodding when he placed his order, the half-elf gets right to it. "Oh. Okay, I'll get right on it!" She begins to head to the bar, but then stops. "Something dark to drink?..." She turns and walks back to the table. "Um... You mean alcohol or coffee? Or even something else?"

Silver Crusade

She looks over to Hekra Hawkstrom. Greetings I am Yumiko Yukimura and my friend her is Shelbey. Nice to meet you. She then gets up and walks to the bar and hands Heather a gold pice for her and Shelbeys meals. I have not yet been on my conformation yet either but have been on one mission. Would you do me the honer of a date some time Miss Heather Morlyn? She winks at her as she returns to the table and sits back down. Hekra I hope all went well for you on your recent mission.

Silver Crusade

Barely noticed by anyone, another tiefling sits in a dark corner of the pub, nursing some light dwarven ale. A typical tiefling through and through, she's red-skinned with a tail, horns, and a nasty set of teeth that her lips just barely seem to be able to cover. She wears a set of lamallar leather armor and has a longspear proppted up on the wall next to her. Noticing she has finally drained her drink, she stands up and slips over to the bar.

"I don't know why they bother with confirmations anyway. Most people never go through them. I haven't. . . Not yet anyway. Closest I did was run some errands in town for Valsin. Another please" she says in a gruff voice, indicating her glass.

Silver Crusade

A voice pipes up from behind a stack of books and scrolls, soon followed by the face of a young woman showing a mix of Kellid and tian-min features. "Y'know, TECHNICALLY that was still your confirmation. That project can vary, from agent to agent. What's important is that one of the Masters signs off on you and you get your wayfinder. I went on a very important research trip for Master Zey for mine, to a strangely snowy area in...HEY!" The lecture is interrupted as she yells over towards Shelby, where a small strip of meat is floating through the air off towards Yoshimi's stack of books. "Tanbaru, put that back! It's not yours, and you did NOT rightfully steal it! Apologize to the nice dinosaur, and next time just order some meat if you're hungry."

Silver Crusade

A floating, demonic-looking mask appears in mid-air looking rather upset, with the small strip of meat clasped between large fangs. It spits the meat rudely back on to Shelby's plate with the rest of the meat and grumbles something to the effect of "Sorry you can't defend your prize, foolish mortal."

He quickly vanishes from view before appearing in front of Heather and yelling "THE MIGHTY TANBARU DEMANDS SUSTENANCE!"

Silver Crusade

Is that something we should be smiting? Because that looks like something we should be smiting...

Silver Crusade

The tiefling raises an eyebrow at the creature before turning back to the scholarly woman.

"Really? I was told confirmations were big deals with many pathfinders meeting up, and some halfling was in charge of them. Must've been misinformed."

She then turns a steely gaze to the person who made the smithing comment.

"Y'shouldn't judge things on appearance. There are a lot of people that look. . . demonic. . . that don't deserve to be smited." She narrows her gaze to a stare that is ice cold. "And there are many 'normal' people that deserve that smiting more than any devil."

Silver Crusade

Yoshimi tut-tuts at Tanbaru as he comes back to her, puts a protective hand on the top of his head, and casts an annoyed glance towards Reinart. "Golarion would be a much better place if everyone weren't so quick to judge. Aside from robots, of course. Tanbaru may still be a little rough around the edges, but he's learning. And he isn't evil, although many oni are. But hey, many humans are too. Shall we smite you, just to be sure?"

She settles down a bit and shrugs at Nisha. "Maybe they have an organized way of assigning confirmations these days, but any suitable exploration or research project should qualify. I'd talk to a VC about it if you're curious."

Silver Crusade

Heather shrugs slightly and heads back to the bar to pour a mug of coffee for Hekra. As she finishes, Heather nods her head to Yumiko. "Oh, Thank you." She accepts the gold piece and puts it in a box behind the bar. But Heather does a double take as Yumiko asks her out on a date. Her eyes glow bright green for a few seconds as she watched her walk back to the table.

Was that flirting?... Yes. That was flirting. She wants me. Er, us. She wonders before being brought back to reality when another tiefling comes to the bar. "Ah. Um. Right on it. It was an ale, right?" She pours some ale into the glass and nudges it back to her. "There you go." She said with a smile.

With that said, Heather begins to bring the mug of coffee to Hekra before being startled by the floating mask. "Ah... Uh.. Huh!?"

Will Save to not pass out from fear: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16

Kn Planes on floating mask: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18

Heather's eyes shine brightly in a greenish color as she stares at the floating mask, almost tossing the mug at it. She gets a stern look on her face as she points to the oni mask. "You." She then points back to its master. "Go back to your master."

Heather seems visibly drained after that and places the mug on the table. She hurriedly moves back behind the bar as a slight altercation happens with a couple of the patrons. "Oh dear."

Her eyes seem to be a normal shade of green.

A pile of glowing green goo appears nearby behind the person suggesting of smithing. It slowly grows taller and takes an appearance of a human woman in robes that look similar to a priestess of Shelyn. What ever the creature is, it unnaturally leans around the person and has an all knowing smile upon its face. "Aw... Leave the poor little mask alone." It grins. "As the woman said, it isn't evil. But... If you want to focus on something, you can always look at me. Hehe~"
