I am enamored with cabbage in milk. (This is not the actual recipe I use, but a close approximation. Mine is from a cookbook on English cuisine. You could probably leave out the lemon zest, as I've never seen that included in the dish.)
It sounds like an utterly prosaic dish, but it's quite delicious.

A fromage bleu salad that had too much fromage bleu. Then again, can one have too much formage bleu? Is it really something you can have too much of?
Sometimes I think I might be a philosopher and I just don't realise it. Or maybe I did actually have too much fromage bleu.
I never cared much for it. I find the flavor too strong.
For myself, I had a hot dog. It was uninspiring, but cheap.

It was going to be a peanut butter and honey sammich, but now, thanks to your machiavellian use of suggestion, it's going to be chicken tikka masala.
(So much for saving money...) :P
Mmm...peanut butter and honey sammich is yummy too, though.
::wipes runny nose::
I got it spicy. It was very yummy. I hope yours was very yummy as well.

Potatoes and cooked chicken. Tomorrow rest of it and on Thursday the chicken soup with rice.
A bit unsavory moment was when I looked into the pot today and sow four black dots floating... I knew it can't be pepper... Which I hadn't. Further inspection revealed it to be four flies that dared to drown in my soup. *sigh* I picked them with a spoon and threw them away.

Pulled-pork cheddar melt on honey-wheat 1/2 baguette with roasted corn on the cob. Supposed to have sliced strawberries in sugary juice as dessert, but too full after big lunch... maybe in an hour-ish.
FYI, I just discovered how to do the corn in the oven -- bake @350 F unshucked directly on oven rack for 35 minutes, then peel and eat. It's so much easier than boiling them on the stovetop.

Did you do anything special with them, Drejk? Does sound like a lot of bananas to dispose of in one sitting...
About 10-25% of each banana ended cut and thrown away as hardly edible. I ate about half of it in the period of five hours with rest remaining for tomorrow. Depending upon their state tomorrow I will eat them as they are or fry them with some apples. If I only had some decent meat (or remaining money to buy some) to braise with the fruits it would be great but I have neither.
Also, two to three pounds of fruits seems the right amount for a daily ration to me.

Eating the leftovers from an experiment I cooked last night:
-Took a de-boned chicken
-Cut it in several slices
-Put a mixture of honey, mustard and gorgonzolla cheese between each chicken layer, like if I was making a cake
-Give it a paint of honey mixed with balsamic accetto and oregano
-Tie the whole thing and give it a white wine wash
-Throw in the oven until the chicken starts to look dark
I honestly was just throwing stuff at the wall and seeing what stuck, but the result was very pleasant, as the honey sort of caramelized and gave the chicken a series of crunchy layers that then oozed sweet & sour cheese. Next time I'll remember to cook some duchess potatoes with a bit of cream cheese as side.
Mcwrap and fries. And glorious ice cream with three layers of chocolate fudge. ONE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ICE CREAM!
Really, we live in a wondrous age.

@ Klaus
I am very passionate about my ice cream.
Oh, I agree. Icecream deserves passion. I was flipping pants when I found out this place where they make custom icecream sandwiches with waffles. It is at times like those that you realise what has all the progress and struggle of humanity been for.
That and probably finding new ways of looking at other people's junk.

Okay, I was not expecting that last sentence and laughed way to hard in my office. People are probably wondering what I am doing in here...
