Multiclassing Rogue Archtypes

Rules Questions

Lantern Lodge

I started with a Rogue archetype Knife master. We are now at level two and I want to dip into the Rogue archetype Scout.

As both of archtypes remove trap sense/finding it doesn't conflict which I understand but I want to know would being a Knife Master 1/Scout 1 would I still be able to get the level two rogue talent and so forth each time a dip into compatible rogue archetypes?

You can't multiclass into rogue. You can be multiple archetypes at once though, if they don't modify, alter, or replace the same abilities.

Silver Crusade

You can't dip or multiclass into archetypes (nor into alternate classes as alternate classes ARE archetypes), it's explicitely stated in the rules.
You select your archetype(s) at 1st level (you cannot select several archetypes changing the same cass feature), and replace any base feature of your class with the features given by your archetypes when reaching the appropriate level.

If you are in a home game (not a PFS) you could ask your GM if you could add scout archetype to be a Rogue (knife master/scout) 2... especially since what scout modifies doesn't come until 4th level. I'd suggest some buttering up first. Compliment his/her shoes then ask.

Liberty's Edge

In my group, you don't need to choose an archetype at first level, but once you've gained a class feature, it's "locked in" for that character. Whether you consider this a bit tricksy or not is up to you, but you could always just say you were on the scout + knife master path the whole time. You won't gain anything from scout until 4th level anyway.

Since the two archetypes don't conflict, I would have no problem in my own game with letting a player say they were on that path the whole time. If this is for PFS, you're out of luck, but otherwise just check with your GM.

Oh, they do stack? I didn't even check.

Just a note, I'm pretty sure in PFS you can choose to be an archetype at the time when the first ability is modified.

So for scout, you could choose to be a scout at 4th level, when the first ability for them is modified.

Oh really? that's useful!

I know SKR has said that's how it works in PFRPG. I'd search Brock's posts for confirmation on the issue though.

I don't want to screw anyone over =/

If they both give up trapfinding they conflict and you can not take both.

As others said your class is rougue so it is posible to have multiple archetypes, but none of them can modify the same ability. If they did not conflict, you could be a level 2 rouge (scout/knifemaster).
