I am thinking the GM saw how hard it can be to GM high level optimised characters and bailed*. I recently ran an arena type PbP for something similar to this. I think we would trounced any module or AP since they are not built for a group of optimised characters, unless the GMwas willing to boost the monsters. I am running 3 games already, but if someone else picks this up I would suggest they not tell us to build super characters. I do enjoy such games from time to time as a GM, but only when I have time to deal with the craziness the players come up with. The good thing is I got my mind back into optimisation mode. At least I know I can still do it if I have to.
*I don't blame him for not trying.

Even my bard would have been 1 rounding, maybe 2 at the most any CR appropriate threats.
I was also going to be able to teleport your paladin with me in case of difficult terrain so he could still charge and we both would have been full-attacking on the same initiative.
It was going to be a thing of beauty. :)
