Iffin I weren't about to embark on an evil campaign, I'd be stealin the hell outta these build suggestions. Quick note though; Divine Deed-Smiting Shot replaces Smite Evil as a class feature. This seems like a rather large loss, as Smite Evil lasts until your target is down, where as Smiting Shot is a one shot attack costing a point of grit. Your average Paladin, witha level of Mysterious Stranger, just might be a better deal than the Holy Gun.

Antipaladin works with this as well.

This was my thought as well.

Just remember that many Mega DPR builds tend to be of the glass cannon variety. Depending on what totaled your previous party, Mega Damage might not save you next time.

thanks for the heads up, it was ghosts as in every serpent skull encounter that has almost killed us it has been ghosts or demons mostly ghosts.

@blackblood troll the lay on hands is a good thematic element I cant heal my self only others, thus making it a challenge. don't like Anti paladin at all never been a CE kind of guy.

I agree normal pally is the way to go,

is it possible to put ghost touched on my gun?

Dark Archive

Ghost touch is melee only. What you want is to treat some of your ammunition with ghost salt from the Pathfinder Society Field Guide. I don't know if you would be able to do that with paper cartridges, but you would have the option at level 9 to make a dead shot with ghost salt ammunition, likely enough to ruin a ghost's day.

can you give me a link please

Dark Archive

A link to the page that confirms ghost touch applies only to melee weapons.

Unfortunately, I don't believe ghost salt is on the SRD; they don't have some of the stuff in the Field Guide. Ghost salt is 200 gp for a dose (which will cover 10 units of ammunition or one melee weapon for a single hit), and it's used like any of the other weapon blanches.

Actually, it's weird that I can't find it on the SRD, because they grabbed agile weapons from there.

The signature deed from mergy's build, is for which deed exactly?

the Charisma based damage form the first level of mysterious stranger

Focused Aim (Ex)

At 1st level, as a swift action, the mysterious stranger can spend 1 grit point to gain a bonus on all firearm damage rolls equal to her Charisma modifier (minimum 1) with all firearm attacks she makes until the end of her turn. At 7th level, when she uses the dead shot deed, she multiplies this bonus by the number of hits she made while rolling the Dead Shot attack.

This deed replaces the quick clear deed.

Would anyone care to clarify why a slinger with quick draw and multiple pistols wouldn't be able to get multiple attacks per round?

you need a free hand to reload. and the weapon cord will work but it is kind of cheesy.

You would, but I personally wouldn't enjoy buying multiple pistols just to get a full attack off. It's a lot easier to grab Rapid Reload and some paper cartridges.

Almost done with my build so I will post all the good stuff when I am finished I bought a versatile vest to hold my Paper cartridges so they don't get wet.

Hey all I don't understand the wording of this ability as it relates to dead shot. can somebody explain?

Also what BAB do I use for the 3rd attack for Rapid shot?
edit also can I rapid shot and both barrels and deadly aim at at the same time?
with Charisma damage I am using a +2 dbl barrel pistol I am getting

7/7/7/2/2/2 is this correct? or am i making to many attacks? i have a 19 dex and weapon focus

I am using deadly aim and rapid reload is this possible?

the other thing is it fits the back story that I was a paladin but after murdering the entire town of Tull in self defense I became a gunslinger, and now have to slay the serpent demon god to get my paladinhood back.

I think you might be happier with an A-Team background. You were wrongfully accused, and now you must clear your name. Better if the reason you took the fall was because someone took advantage of you when you stuck to the code.

ever read the gunslinger series?

the entire town is magically controlled and attacks him he has no choice but to defend himself ,

in my mind a paladin would not be responsible for that if the enemy was magically controlled and he had no way to free them.

I'm beginning to think that firing off both barrels at the same time per iterative may not be totally allowed. It depends on what your GM allows, of course.

For Dead Shot combined with Focussed Aim, let's say you have your BAB of +7, a dexterity score of 18 and a charisma of 20. Focussed Aim adds +5 to your ranged attacks when you use it.

So a rapid shot attack with a +1 single-barrelled pistol would look like this: +10/+10/+5 (1d8+6/x4).

If you were to Dead Shot that, you'd roll three d20s at +10/+10/+5, and for every one you hit with, you would do 1d8+5, and then you'd add +1 to your total for the +1 pistol.

Dead Shot is great once you can grab Improved Critical and stack a large number of attacks, because the chance of a critical hit increases by quite a bit, and you get to confirm at your highest attack roll -5. That means if you have 5 attacks (easy to do at level 11 with Rapid Shot and haste) and a 19-20 crit range, you have roughly a 40% chance to threaten, and against anything with a low touch AC, you're nearly guaranteed to confirm for a massive single hit.

Dead Shot is also useful when fighting something with a ton of DR, or when you're using a gun prone to misfires.

@mergy,

thanks for the info. I want to make sure I am doing my attack correctly

with just a single barrel I can rapid shot for one extra attack what is the BAB I take that attack at?

and I want to know what an attack with the double barrel looks like also.
my saves are astronomical it is amazng..thanks.

Dark Archive

It's at your highest BAB, but all of your attacks take a -2 penalty. If you shoot normally at +12/+7, Rapid Shot would let you shoot at +10/+10/+5.

Ranged attackers stack a lot of penalties onto their attacks; luckily, you don't need to roll that high to hit most enemies.

2 people marked this as a favorite.

Okay my build is done and I super pumped by it I am also a little ashamed of how amazing it is.
PLEASE take a look and help me correct any math errors.

well GM DAN, I hope you say yes to this build?

Well, I would spend that 147 gold on survival stuff, blanket, bedroll, healing potions and food you know the necessary items. Hate for your character to die from natural causes like a fall oops no climbing rope or pitons. I am impressed with all the work that has gone into it. Go for it! I have always been a liberal GM, but I do kill characters. I guess that makes me a Liberal-5/Killer-4 GM right now. A GM has to level up sometimes also.:)

Dark Archive

Sorry Lobolusk!

I like it. I hope you do not die! :D

A little nit-pick: I made a mistake in the feats I put down in the plan. Your character probably shouldn't have picked up Rapid Reload before he was ever proficient with firearms. That's a minor issue though, especially because you're starting at level 9.

my paladin/gunslinger creed is below.

bring justice to the unjust
bring mercy to the unmerciful
bring law to the lawless
bring punishment to the deserving
Bring healing to the broken
bring help to the needy always destroy evil, once the world is cleansed of evil we can lay down our guns.
you shall give a man one chance to change, by showing him mercy, if he choose not to. You show him the error of his was by the grit of your soul and the guns in your hand.
let my guns always be a light in the dark,
evil shall fear the guns of my hand for these are the guns of my father and his father before him
I will always remember the face of my father, I will always remember the light that must shine from me either by my fathers guns or my beating heart.
I will remember the face of Arthur Eld the First Gunslinger. As he brought order the chaos with the force of his will and the sound of his guns so shall I.
I will remember the face of my father.
