Maybe I'll give them a try. Or maybe I'll get through Serial Experiments Lain on my third (or is it fourth?) try.

Frieren and AD were very good. One thing I really appreciated about the AD anime is that it showed us much more of the interactions between non-MaoMao people than the manga did. I assume cuts were made when adapted from the LNs, so a bunch of stuff going on that didn't make much sense in the manga did in the anime.

Dungeon Meishi remains amazing.

Maybe I'll watch frieren, I only really know the H.

Man, I didn't expect the Spice and Wolf opening to hit so hard. They really put a lot in there.

are you just getting into it now or has there been a new release or something.

Bro, they are having Studio Passione redo it. The new OP hints at a LOT of plot points and it bloody well destroyed me.

Yet another series I know primarily from the H. Maybe I'll check out the regular stuff this time.

Train to the End of the World has a little promise. We'll se if it goes anywhere.

Oh my
This is a bit of News I was not expecting.

New Magic Knights Rayearth project

That and the new Ranma project are indeed not expected, but not as surprising as they would have been without the remakes of "Spice and Wolf" and Urusei Yatsura already gracing our screens.

"Train to the End of the World" was entertaining, but definitly a story where the journey is the important bit, not the end.

"Mysterious Disappearances" was mostly fun, and I think that's most of what I watched this season.

We all love a good harem comedy, but how to choose best girl?
Do we go for the cheeky one with the put-downs, the cool and collected girl or the classic tsundere? The answer is "why not all of them?", and to save time and effort, make them all into the same character.
This is Pseudo Harem in a nutshell. I was surprised it got an anime considering the manga ended a few years ago, but the surprise is a pleasant one. It's a sweet little romantic comedy which will brighten my day.

I've also heard some rumors of more Bakemonogatari on the horizon, so I'm giddy with excitement for that.

What are people watching this season?

The Bakemonogatari spin-off is not as good as the main story, but I'm still enjoying it.

Apart from that and Pseudo Harem, the only show that has me interested is Too many losing heroines. Slice of lifey, a reluctant protagonist who ends up hanging out with too many girls who get rejected by their crushes. The animation is surprisingly good for a show of its type, and the humor is just right low-key and relatable.

I tried Love is indivisible by twins but all I got out of it was the author saying "look at all the Western media I know of".

Mayonaka Punch is CGDCT. 'let's learn how to be Youtubers' edition, with vampires. I watched the first three episodes but I will probably drop it.

My deer friend is a gag anime about a girl with deer antlers and a former delinquent. I might watch the second episode at some point.

The Suicide Squad isekai lost me at the first episode, Partially because I'm very picky about my isekais, partially because they chose a horribly dull and boring voice actor for the two lines that they gave the Joker.

Grand Lodge

We've been keeping up with the new Spice and Wolf along with Kaiju No.8, which will be a lot easier if we can work out our schedule to allow anime night every week instead of every other week.

Mashle is our detox episode after Megalobox Nomad's serious story. We're also working through Dungeon Meshi, sometimes multiple episodes at once. The dragon arc was definitely something!

New season of Thunder Bolt Fantasy coming in October

If you have never seen it, Give it a chance. Gen Urobuchi writing and Studio Pili puppet theatre action

I watched that one on your recommendation and was not disappointed.

Shikanoko Nokonoko Koshitantan is hilarious. Zany humor.

I saw "new" and "thunderbolt" and got excited. Bad greylurker.

Beware of Dog

Tying the knot with an Amagami sister is, to be a bit facetious, basically the same story as "Temple" from last year. Technically they are different but the set-up is still Protagonist-kun goes to live in a temple and get romantically involved with the hot girls living there with a variety of standard harem comedy hijinks. Yes, there are differences in Reasons The Protagonist is there and supposedly in personality as well, but I have a hard time keeping them separate. I still read both and will enjoy watching this.

New Dragon Ball Daima series started today and honestly It's not bad

Starts almost immediately after the Buu saga, so around 3 or 4 years before Super.

Biggest thing so far about it

Spoiler:
Namekians are Demons again, also still aliens but apparently they were originally from the Demon Realm, and then escaped to the Mortal realm and set up Planet Namek.

Thunderbolt Fantasy is back and I have to find a recap because I only vaguely remember everything that has happened so far. Still a blast to watch.

Ranma 1/2 has started up and the girl and I are having a ton of fun.

If my wife turned into an elementary school student has gotten an adaptation. It is not nearly as creepy as it sounds. Kid realizes she is the reincarnation of a dead woman and gets back in touch with her former husband and their daughter. Difficult, at moments touching, and basically a kind exploration of grief and character improvement. I've read the manga and don't feel the need to watch the show. It was fine but not so fine I feel the need to experience it twice.

Gundam Requiem For Vengeance comes out soon.

Grand Lodge

Finished watching Megalobox Nomad with the crew last night, good ending but a bit anticlimactic. Also finished up Drifters, so we’ll likely be getting back to G Gundam for that pick.

Sunday was bonus anime night, regular anime night was Demonslayer catch up. We have one more episode to watch, then it will be the wait for the Infinity Castle.

Gotta find time to watch the Spy Family movie too.

Okay, our choices for new shows last night was not the expected titles.

Dandadan and Bang Brave Bravern are absolutely wild. Thank goodness that Iruma-kun was a chill season finale episode that let us breath.

Maybe the time has come. Maybe I should just give up and get Crunchyroll.

Remake coming in 2025; Cat's Eye

This is probably one of the earliest anime I ever saw as a kid. This a few others would run on CBC french (along with Harlock, Cities of Gold and an anime of Anne of green gables of all things). Being the latest series to get a modern remake is great to see. Can't wait for it....but looks like I'll need to restart my Disney+ subscription

Only thing I've seen of Cat's Eye was the Lupin III crossover last year.

I loved Mysterious Cities of Gold, though not as much as Shagma (Spartacus and the Sun beneath the Sea/Les Mondes Engloutis). I never did get around to watching the sequel. I also liked Harlock but Queen Milennia was the one Leijiverse story that stuck with me from childhood.

The anime that really had me hooked as a kid was Robotech.

Grand Lodge

Arcane continues to be a masterpiece. We need to finish that up so I can stop getting spoilers.

ok...so all the classics are getting new versions.
They are doing a new anime of Anne of Green Gables. comes out in april next year.

Speaking of classics getting something new, Lupin III is getting a new movie in 2025, and I am SO HYPED!!
I believe it is meant to tie off the Jigen, Goemon and Fujiko specials

Just need a remake of Maya the Bee and Belle and Sebastion.

Every season we get two or three isekai these days, so I tend to look for the ones that have an interesting twist

Next month we get "The Red Ranger becomes an adventurer in another world"

A Power Ranger gets Isekaied. Complete with his transformation, Ranger weapons and freaking Giant Robot.

I love me a good Genre Clash so I'm going to check this out

Cute High Earth Defense Club LOVE! is getting a movie. I don't see how they could continue or beat what they already did, but I didn't see how season two could top season one and it mostly did. Time to get my totally-not-yaoi on.

if it makes him less sentai and more tokusatsu, I'm in.

ok so Zenshu is my surprise this season.
Another Isekai, the twist this time is that the Main character is an Animation Director reborn in the movie that influenced her as a kid.
Special power; she can storyboard a new scene to change the outcome of events.
Fantastic animation sequence when she summons her Cubicle to get to work.

Surprisingly good first episode, It's worth checking it

So I just saw "A herbivorous 5,000 year old dragon is unfairly maligned". The first season was hilarious. Second one dragged a bit. It relied a little heavily on overpowered for no reason character a lot of anime have but I was ok with it since that wasn't the main point.

So far I've tried:
Medaka Kuroiwa is impervious to my charms, a dumb little romcom about the school's hottest girl who tries to charm a dude sworn to chastity. It's one of those stories that is entertaining enough that I like it in spite of myself. Later on it tries to get some of that harem goodness with other girls intruding but that just detracts from the main story, IMO. Still going to watch it.

I'm Getting Married to a Girl I Hate in My Class, another romcom with the same basic premise as Nisekoi. We'll see if it turns out as good as that one.

Okitsura: Fell in Love with an Okinawan Girl, but I Just Wish I Know What She's Saying is yet another romcom (I'm beginning to sense a pattern here...). I think I would appreciate it more if I actually knew Japanese so I could pick up on the dialectal issues. As it is I cannot even tell that the accent is different than standard anime-ese.

I'll be checking out Tasokare Hotel when I get home, and I'm super hyped for the second season of Apothecary Diaries. I'm also bummed that Ranma only got 12 episodes for its first season. At least we will get a second season.

I saw One punch man goes to hogwarts Muschle and it was ok but there were definitely a few laughs. They were actually more clever with the fights than a lot of other shows, even if most of them were BRUTE FORCE BREAKTHROUGH.

Ranking of kings season 1 was a good story and season 2 was the flashback/slice of life stuff

I enjoyed Mashle well enough until we got the tournament arc and then I got extremely bored. Tournament arcs are almost invariably incredibly boring

"From bureaucrat to villainess: Dad's been reincarnated."

I enjoyed this so much.
I'm 50+ myself and I relate to so many of Kozaburou's inner monologue. The bit about switching to short and long distance without having to change glasses hit me hard

Mashle is good for the comedic overreactions. Also the dub is wild. “God is dead, ma’am.”

Finished rewatching Chainsaw Man with our friend that missed out. So good that my brother went to the manga while we wait for the movie. Reze is going to be amazing animated.

Going to continue picking up the shows we let fall by the wayside as our current picks wrap up. Ranking of Kings is one, but we’re still working on Iruma-kun and others. I am slowly inflicting Plastic Memories between Spice and Wolf and Dandadan.

I also really liked the bit about how the world looked mostly European but had a lot of Japanese elements.

I want to escape from princess lessons has a wonderful protagonist and a super creepy prince. I honestly hope he gets run over by a carriage and she doesn't eventually fall for him. I know that's not going to happen but I want it to.

Momentary Lily CGDCT robot invasion with superpowers. Entirely forgettable.

I thought you said Gundam Thunderbolt for a minute there.

I was incredibly excited for a moment.

Im still working through macross 7, almost finished.

I need to get a modern anime in though. At my age I am in danger of being left behind.

Ugh, Macross 7.

Speaking of of older anime, I'm working my way through Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi. I'm feeling my years when I look at a release date of 2002 and think "that's not all that long ago", then I do the math.
