Yes, but both have supposedly gone to the printer; how else are they going to meet their August deadline?

Grand Lodge

Where do you see anything about S&W going to print?

TriOmegaZero wrote:

I guess looking at the last response from FGG at the Kickstarter website:

"Books will be back from the printer in late August."

As well as the last update:

"We received confirmation from the printers today that the book went to print."

I guess by "the book" that they are referring to both versions or not. If not, to have it back by late August, when is the latest it could be sent? or will the S&W print be later than the PF print?

Just wondering...

Grand Lodge

I think there is still time to finish the S&W version in time for the printer, especially since it is smaller in size than the PF version. I took the statements in this thread about 'the book' to refer to the PF book as clarified.

Guys, please, relax. Everything is under control, situation normal.

How are you?

We have done this a few times, all is well. Chuck knows his biznezz, and he is taking care of it.

I am relaxed. I apologize if I seemed hostile Zarathos.

Frog God Games

Some errors were found in the S&W stats and they are being fixed.

@TriOmegaZero, I didn't feel you were being hostile. No need for apology.

@Chuck, I have full confidence that you know your business, you are a vital and essential part of the layout and distribution of the final product. Let me take this opportunity to tell what a fine and excellent job you are doing.

So, I was simply thinking out loud (in print) and bemusing in a whimsical sort of way. I will wait in a relaxed and zen-like state for any additional info on this greatly anticipated product.

Frog God Games

Zarathos — Everyone is allowed to ask. Just wanted to set minds at ease. :)

Definitely better to fix the errors and delay the product, IMO.

Ditto, what is another week to wait for a book that we will have for decades. Doesn't make any sense to me to not fix everything that can be located and corrected.

My two cents.

Is this just going to print the right number of books for the Kickstarter supporters? Or will it be available to buy as normal? (Without all the extra goodies, of course!)

Frog God Games

If things go the way we are working towards, you will not only be able to purchase this from Paizo's website, but also from various game and book stores.

And yes, the Kickstarter only special goodies remain only for those who pledged their support.

Dark Archive

Welp, I ordered the S&W version of Tome of Horrors print/PDF from the FGG website. So my bytes interactive account is all prepped for sweet Rappan Athuk pdf action.

Looking forward to it guys!

Frog God Games

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Now I have the phrase "Rap on Athuk action" stuck in my head.

I feel dirty and I don't know why.

Well, I got a preview copy of a review for RA the other day, which should be available next week or so.

Very positive review. Im extremely eager to see what you all have to say at the end of August.

If this means the Player's Guide, then I'm extremely happy. My players don't want to make up characters without seeing the PG so, as much as I'm anxious for the full RA pdf to release, I'm also very excited to see the PG released too...

I'm a bit confused. How do I order a copy? I click on buy and it takes me to the Kickstarter...

@Veldan - you can buy RA as soon as it's released and if you pledged, you could buy additional goodies - for now, the kicksterter is closed.

Okay...thought I had missed out on being able to buy a copy!

One of the goals of the Kickstarter was to get enough profit margin to be able to produce enought to supply stores like Paizo and your FLGS. Although they pumped out SO MUCH swag I sometimes wonder how they possibly managed to stay in the black with this project.

Yeah, I'm hoping for some word on things. It's been a little while. Haven't received my paypal invoice for shipping and extra purchases yet, but I imagine those will be along in a few days.

Still looking forward to the S&W kickstarter too...

Frog God Games

We are busting this stuff out as fast as we can--but we are also making sure editing is done (Thank you Aaron!) on the SW version. We'll get stuff posted sand out asap--just asap is taking longer than we thought. Books 3-9 are at the printer now (there are 13 total books in this mix). Chuck is still working on the modules and the main SW book.

Frog God Games

ps--we developed a database tracking deal for shipping bills--its still being tested. We will send bills out as soon as it works every time:)

I don't really know Skeeter that well, but I'm pretty sure I don't want to kiss him.

SG is not down with tentacle.

...and we should probably stop this pretty quick, before we get banned.

I was not hinting at anything inappropriate, Skeeter. It was a very old joke when I was younger. I guess it doesn't translate well over the internet. My apologies.

That show was off the air long before I was born and I got it. :)

So I have been tasked with testing and collecting the data. This part of my job sucks. lol We are in the final stages of testing now and hope to have invoices go out this week. I know we said that last week but we ran into some snags that we thought best to fix first. As Bill said we are moving over to a new bigger and better system so we need to make sure it is perfect.

Yeah, The Honeymooners. Who doesn't know that line?

Skeeter was more recriminating what he and Kthulhu were saying to each other, I believe.

Chuck is correct. Silverhair, no issues with your comments at all.

its all good, my friends. if we can't joke around with each other, what's the world coming to*?

You guys might want to throw an update onto the Kickstarter or something. I know one guy was concerned about whether or not the S&W book had gone to the printer before the errors in it were found. Reassurance from an actual Frog might be nice.

Frog God Games

I would do it, but I don't have an account on it.

I got the Kickstarter update email last night. It was good to see where things are at, but there was a piece of the puzzle that I didn't see any mention about: the d20Pro map files and the Hero Lab encounter files. What is the status on these? Will they release with the pdfs? How will they be released? I'm envisioning a big zip file, but I'm curious to hear FGG's thoughts on this.
<br /><br />
Finally, and I'll just come out and say this, is it necessary to wait for the invoices to go out before releasing the pdfs? Aren't the invoices just for shipping on the physical products, whereas the content of the pdfs was already purchased with our Kickstarter pledges?
<br /><br />
I'm not judging; it just seemed like an odd delay. If it's just a matter of not having time to get them uploaded, I totally understand. I'm sure you guys are burning the candle at both ends trying to get this stuff done and out the door.
<br /><br />
As always, nothing but respect and admiration for you guys; keep up the good work.

The pdfs are still being finalized, they don't have any tie-in with the invoices. As stated about a dozen times now, there were errors in the S&W version, and chuck and Aaron are getting them fixed, and when that's done they will be uploaded.

We are still working on the digital aspects as well, so the d20 Pro and HeroLab files will be coming out when they're done.

Honestly, this Kickstarter was a WAY bigger effort than even we thought. While we love our fans and the show of support, we we're not as prepared as we thought. We'll do better next time, for sure :-)

I know for a fact, once you guys see all the stuff you'll get in your swag boxes (I've only seen some of the finished product myself, and not even all at once!), you'll be very impressed.

An artist friend of mine used to silkscreen t-shirts which he sold on Ebay, at arts festivals, and so on - they got "discovered" and suddenly he had about 3000 orders: this is at once "fantastic" and "uh oh". So, I totally understand :)

Personally, I never rush the chef - I'd rather wait a little for the best product. Until then, I'll appreciate the occasional update.

Good luck with all the cat chasing in getting the product out; I look forward to seeing it!

Skeeter,

<br /><br />
I knew about the S&W fixes that were holding up some of the pdfs, no biggie there. What I thought was curious was the Kickstarter update last night that seemed to tie the release of the pdfs to the sending of invoices. That was the only part that I was curious about. I'm probably just reading too much into the email.
<br /><br />
Also, for the record, I'm more than happy with how FGG has handled their first Kickstarter. The donation amount turned out to be orders of magnitude greater than you were expecting, so yeah, I'm sure that Murphy is rearing his ugly head more than normal with getting everything completed.
<br /><br />
Having been a staunch supporter of first Necromancer Games and now Frog God Games I'm just happy to have you guys here doing what you do.

My understanding is that some people have contributed to other kickstarters and two years later they are still waiting for everything they were promised and sometimes for the actual project to be completed.

I think that if we have to wait weeks or even longer for the Frogs to get everything done they are still way ahead of the curve.

The difference between this kickstarter and many others is that most of the writing was done before the kickstarter ended and now we are into finalizing things and getting them printed, etc. This undertaking could have easily taken a year or more to get to us (Remember the Tsar). And Even though I am anxious to read it, I am happy it is not going to be months or more before they get it to us.

Please don't remind me. :(

Speaking of Frog God Games Kickstarters....

Swords & Wizardry went live earlier today....

Linky!

Pledged!

Scarab Sages

Project funded!

Frog God Games

It actually funded faster than Rappan Athuk--by a few minutes. Give this one a try--I was able to get my kids playing by the time they were 5 years old--and it makes a great break from rules heavy games. I even keep a set of books in my RV and we play when traveling.

Big news on the KS coming soon as well--we are going to "give back" and we will have a very special endorsement I think:)

Shadow Lodge

Awesome.

I dunno if I can afford any "big news" on the Kickstarter. :P

Heck, they're still waiting for regular communication from those that got the money.

FGG is so far ahead of the curve that they've almost lapped it.

Anxious definitely describes my attitude towards this Kickstarter, but absolutely nothing negative has crossed my mind.

Keep up the awesome work, folks!!

Frog God Games

On the S&W kickstarter, we hit the $15,000 bonus level. Erol Otus does the cover art on both the S&W Rulebook and Monster book!

My poor wallet T_T

Anyway! $491 away from colouring books in the S&W Kickstarter!

(Maybe a frog should start a new thread in case people who don't get the newsletter/visit the website/read this thread etc. can find out about it?)
