How could you forget Giggles? lol

Goblinworks Executive Founder

Im still keeping up on this thread, thought I should let you know. finals week for school, but after I will probably be able to join in a meeting or two.

Silver Crusade Goblin Squad Member

Cool. Not sure yet whats on the menu for tonights meeting yet. Probably the concerns on guild images. Will have to wait and see what Andius brings up.

Goblin Squad Member

Greetings Legionnaires,

Andius has been so kind as to reach out a diplomatic hand towards the Pax Gaming Community, and I wanted to thank this great company for their support.

We look forward to seeing your Company grow as this games moves from the demo to development stages and into launch. Friendships are built on the premise of similar purpose. Diplomacy is not everyone's strong suite, but Andius does it well. You should all be proud of the Company you have forged here, and those that have stepped forward to work the bellows.

.

I’ve only known Andius and some of the GL (want to meet more!) for a short time now, but I have made some new friends. Also, from some of the Seventh Veil members who visit our channel, as well.

Although you need to watch out for Waruko, he’s a troublemaker.

Hope to see and get to know you and your guild, Pax!

Surely. I'll send you the teamspeak info so you can get on for the meeting in 20 minutes.

Welcome aboard.

Goblin Squad Member

Meeting was fairly uneventful we discussed artwork, alternate games and this thread.

Based on how uneventful this one was, the next one will be the week after next. So July 11 7pm PST. I guess the next week is Independence Day anyway.

See you all then.

Silver Crusade Goblin Squad Member

Hmm will be looking forward to it. Fell asleep before the last one lol. My bad.

First Session for the Legion/Veil PFRPG went well. Still learning the software. On a similar note someone in the Veil has expressed interest in running a game. Going to try and get more details on it and see if any Legionaires can get in on it.

I want to schedule our next session also... Sol will not be available this friday.... do we want to wait until the 15th?

I have been reading the adventure again and have made a few Player handouts to help me with the "Day and Night" actions as well as giving you guys some information on the NPC that are on the ship.

Look forward to our next session!

YIS,

Silver Crusade Goblin Squad Member

I was talking with Sol and he said he should be able to join us this friday. And that we might have to attempt to change over to Sunday for the 2 weeks after that. If that works with everyone.

Silver Crusade Goblin Squad Member

Also in other news a Group is forming in the Veil for a Rise of the Runelords PFRPG. I am unsure of the date or time of the game but, they have 2 open slots. The GM is sometimes on the teamspeak and is seeking other members. If your interested let me know and we will see if he will accept you to join on. It is also wise to know that should you be accept you should try to make sure there are no tensions created between us and our alliance members. And try not to aggrivate people out of game if possible.

Goblin Squad Member

Well,

I'm definately interested for any online PnP gaming opportunities. So if there are any slots availble for those...please count me as interested. I have a full FG2 license....have only had limited opportunities to use it so far.

Silver Crusade Goblin Squad Member

To my knowledge it will be played in Roll20.net which is a very basic program with maps, tokens, and dice rollers.

That's cool, I'm agnostic as to the tool used. I've actualy been interested in checking out alternate tools to use. FGII is pretty powerfull but seems a little overly complex, at least from the GM side of things. Especialy if you ever want to run homebrew games.

I've some experience with OpenRPG in the past...but the thin-client/SaaS approach that Roll20.net seems to be taking is pretty interesting.

Silver Crusade Goblin Squad Member

Well I will try to find out when the Camp is running and talk to ThreeCopper about it.

Silver Crusade Goblin Squad Member

Consider me interested. It will depend on *when* they play, but I'm very interested.

In concerns to the new blog...

GL and our Settlement:

Will be Neutral Good

We will likely be a Feudal system. While our true system is actually an oligarchy we will likely run that behind the scenes and just stick with the more simple Feudal system where the imperator enacts the will of the council in game.

Our membership policy will be approved.

I personally am going to be very open to sponsoring good aligned companies, so GL may be a good company to contact if you need sponsorship as a good aligned company.

I strongly favor a 0% tax rate but that is subject to discussion. If there is a tax it is unlikely to go over 5%.

The system of our alliance will be negotiated with our allies.

Silver Crusade Goblin Squad Member

I would think a small tax might be wise. A small tax (1%) to cover outreach efforts, a community building fund, and the like. Donations beyond that would be encouraged, be it time, money, resources, etc.

Goblin Squad Member

Alexander_Damocles wrote:

From the notes of the first meeting:

Andius wrote:
Funding: Funding is brought in via cuts of the profit from guild events, projects, and contracts. Also it is brought in through donation. All members must be contributing to the company in some form. It is up to their guildmasters or commanding officers to make sure they do so.

I did mention the possibility of the game allowing taxes in that meeting. In fact it was how I opened the discussion.

The way GL has always operated in the past is through taking in cuts of join company ventures and donation from our members. At most periods of our history we have been very wealthy.

I want GL to be a company of unbridled entrepreneurship where our traders don't have to calculate taxes into their profit margins. I want our newer members to not be saddled with the responsibility of paying taxes while they are trying to get off the ground. I don't want people who contribute a portion of their goods or provide us with a lot of service on the battlefield using gear they provide themselves to feel like they have to give more.

It is the responsibility of the officers in the guild and military to make sure nobody is just leeching off the company, and that everyone is providing something. Very rarely do we ever encounter someone who doesn't pitch in at all. I feel like as human beings with discretion we can do a better job of that than a hard no-exceptions taxation system. With a taxation system people are likely to just pay their taxes and say "I've done my part" whereas with a 0% taxation system I think people are more likely to give what they can afford to give.

I personally think we should start with no tax. If we encounter funding problems or too many people slipping through the cracks and just feeding off of us then we can enstate one. But I feel a taxation system is going to be addressing a problem that I don't think we will encounter, while raising a few of it's own problems. Even a 1% tax, or especially a 1% tax in terms of people feeling like "I paid my taxes so I did my part."

I daresay that the Legionnaires and the Order of the Thorn are going to cross swords one day. It looks as though you are as committed to the pursuit of good that you will fail to crackdown on the malcontents and ne'er-do-wells that all soft regimes fall prey to. Go after the big cats and leave the little ones to fight for the scraps, hmm?

OOC: Looking forward to some antagonistic roleplay with the Legionnaires as I see us as being at the opposite ends of the lawkeeping spectrum.

Soft? Fail? Seems you’re getting ahead of yourself you young pup. When you let Tyrants amongst yourself it may be you one day who will be staring at the blade of my axe. As a Paladin of Torag I believe in order and justice but, you seem to have no regard for the later. I look forward to the coming storm of Blades should you continue your ruthless endeavors.

Onto Guild Bussiness

So far we have had a few of our members sign up for Guild Registration. This is not solid in stone but, I think Andius is try to gauge who is interested in what. The link to the Current registration is at http://gl-gamers.net/?topic=guild-registration. Currently guild registration is as follows.

Silver Blades
Jak Blitz (Military) (May run for Leadership)

White Staves
Andius (Military) (Charter Master)

Golden Scales
Hobbun (Militia)
Valinar (Military) (May run for Leadership)

Green Cloaks
Gayel (Militia)
Grumpy-Mcfart (Military)

If you wish to Register then the format is as follows

I ________ will be joining the _______,
And secondary in ____________.
I will (tryout for the regular military)/(be part of the militia).
I will or will not run for guildmaster of the ____________.

If you need information on the inner guilds or the definitions you can find them here http://gl-gamers.net/?topic=ranking-structure-proposal

Goblin Squad Member

Thanks for advertising my game and yes, I would love to add the presence of your guys chartered company to the action. I've had family over for the holiday is why I have been absent from the forums... but Ill hop on TS tonight and we can maybe get some details knocked out. Thanks for being patient!

Ah yes, the misconception that the Hellknights do not care for justice. Your ilk would believe the lawbreakers deserve compassion and sympathy. All they deserve is to be broken under armoured boot for the greater good! A man's nature willnot change unless first his will is broken.

Is it justice for the families of the murdered to see the murderers of their kin walk the streets following their 'penance'? No. An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. The Order of the Thorn shall cut a bloody swathe of law, order and justice through these lawless lands and in it's place we shall leave civility and obedience!

Silver Crusade Goblin Squad Member

Alexander Damocles is highly interested in both the White Staffs and the Green Cloaks. I see myself working a bit of a combination, taking relatively new players out on ventures into the world, show them the ropes, while also doing some good for the GL. Also will try out for the regular military. If we end up with no guildmaster for the Green Cloaks, I'll take my hand at it. Haven't been in charge of anything like that since I was the Minister of the Hunt in SWG (8 years ago).

Silver Crusade Goblin Squad Member

So sounds more like your going to be a Primary in the Greencloaks and a secondary white staff. No idea if your trying out for Military or being ok with the Militia. I believe Primary guild membership allows you to vote towards that guilds master. Might be mistaken tho. Also Andius is the Imeperitor so he won't be guildmaster of the White Staves.

Silver Crusade Goblin Squad Member

Yeah, I'm not entirely sure how it breaks down. Once we get closer to the game's launch and how the game systems work, I'll be able to tell you which is the primary and which is the secondary.

Goblin Squad Member

Alexander_Damocles wrote:

You are allowed to change your decision at any point. It may actually be important to declare your primary before the game though. Especially as more info is released and the guilds get more numbers I will allow their members to choose their first guildmaster and begin creating a structure.

This is still probably a ways off but I do want something in place so we can hit the ground running on game release.

Silver Crusade Goblin Squad Member

Oh, I didn't mean wait till launch. But it is hard to pick where I most want to be before they've even discussed the actual mechanics of the game. For now, put me down as a Green Cloak primary, White Staffs secondary. And I'll tryout for the military once I can buy a decent mic.

Go for the cheap ones. Few headsets last more than 6 months regardless of what you spend on them. I just get a 10-15$ one everytime the old once ceases to be useable.

Goblin Squad Member

I have not signed up for a guild yet since depending on which character I decide to play once I have more information about the classes and such I would be a member of either the Silver Blades or Greencloaks.

Goblin Squad Member

Interesting... I was expecting Silverblades to be the most popular with Golden Scales in 2nd, and then either Green Cloaks or White Staffs in last.

Guess we have a lot of exploration, scouting, and survival oriented people.

Edit: Oh! Also if it isn't clear by the list above "Charter Master" means I am the leader of the entire company, not of the White Staffs. I have absolutely no intention of running for that position.

Silver Crusade Goblin Squad Member

Thats good. I am going to be relying on those people to find me some Mithril or Adamantine. Gonna make a Dwarven Waraxe the likes of which the river kingdoms have ever seen. Then slay me a dragon with it.

If you have no microphone, no worries, Teamspeak has a text chat option aswell.

OK guys... I am heading to Daytona in a half hour... I am sorry that I had to cancel tonight....

I'm pulling two twelve hour shifts this weekend and a twelve to eight shift (Alaska time) Monday and Tuesday.

After that it's wide open for at least three days unless something changes.

Silver Crusade Goblin Squad Member

Sol won't be back till July 27th and hes unsure of what day hes avalible. I will PM him about the 13th or 20th and see what he says.

On another note more info about another Veil Legion PFRPG. It seems to be that it will be taking place on Thursdays. As to the Adventure Path that will be run. It is between Jade Regent or The Rise of the Runelords Aniversary. Others are still be considered. I personally voted for the RotRL. So GrumpyMel and Alexander let me know if you still want in. I believe there is room still.

Also on a guild note. Depending on our Size it looks like the Great Legionaires will be an alliance of the 4 inner guilds. So that might not be so bad.

Grand Lodge Goblin Squad Member

Hello,

I have been reading about PFO for some time, and I am a $100 kickstarter member. My objectives seem in line with what you are trying to accomplish with GL, and I have decided to request membership within the company.

I have been table top gaming for almost 28 years, including pathfinder (since it came out) and PFS for over two years (almost a three star). I have also been involved in MMO's since the launch of Everquest, and am eager to find a permanent home within Golarion.

"I, BraxTheSage will be joining the Green Cloaks (if accepted) and a secondary with the white staves. I will be trying out for the regular military. I will not run for guildmaster at this time, but will welcome a leadership position if requested to do so by the guildmasters."

Thank you for your time.

Yes. There will be a meeting on Wednesday June 11th, at 7PM PST. So today or tomorrow depending on people's timezones.

We will be discussing the implications of the latest blog post and implementing a more formal and extensive recruitment policy, as well as any comments, concerns, or suggestions people come to the meeting with.

I am envisioning as part of a single company, settlement, or kingdom. I don't want to create the impression that the 4 guilds are "guilds" in the WoW sense of the word but they are guilds in the literal definition, belonging to a greater whole. However if you would like to see it another way I encourage you to make your case at tomorrow's meeting.

Another Green Cloak. Wow, it is incredibly popular. Very unexpected, I wonder if it will change the role of the company much. Will be fun and interesting to see.

Anyhow, thanks for the application. I am sending you the Teamspeak information and extending an invitation for you to come to the meeting tomorrow.

I am hoping you and Firelor will be the first potential recruits to go through our new application process if we can determine one tomorrow. No worries if we don't, I won't let that delay your application process.

Good. I think this definitely needs to be discussed. Not liking what I am seeing in Ryan's latest posts (again) on CC's.

I will be there tonight.
