Yes. There will be a meeting on Wednesday June 11th, at 7PM PST. So today or tomorrow depending on people's timezones.
We will be discussing the implications of the latest blog post and implementing a more formal and extensive recruitment policy, as well as any comments, concerns, or suggestions people come to the meeting with.
Good. I think this definitely needs to be discussed. Not liking what I am seeing in Ryan's latest posts (again) on CC's.

Ditto that, but I think it's probably best to wait for more detailed and finalized information about the mechanics PFO will be implimenting before making any organizational changes.
Best approach might be to keep GL structure divorced from PFO mechanics for right now and then adjust as needed once a firmer picture of exactly what those mechanics will be develops. Otherwise I have the feeling that they'll be alot of running around, chasing our tails while GW adjusts and tweaks thier designs during development.

Agreed. I am planning to run most of the GL structure separate of the game structure and try to adapt the game structure to work with ours. I still would like to discuss what we will do if it stays as is, and I think we should discuss how this system may or may not limit what we would like to do in order to give better feedback to the devs.

There were representatives from PAX, Golden Flask, Seventh Veil, and at a later point Peace Through Vigilance. While not too many specifics were nailed out it was nice to meet all the representatives , see so much interest working together, and come to understand eachother and our motivations better. There was also of course, much discussion of the latest blog, and we will likely hold another get together in a month or so.
After the representatives left we focused down on some more GL oriented issues.
New Recruitment Policy:
New members are required to fill out an application form. The recruitment process may be expanded further later but we feel this is all that is needed for now. New members must fill out the following application.

All existing GL members are encouraged to submit this just so we can know you better.
Also, after this application we will give members a two week trial period on the company if we like the application. This two week trial is to asses the character of the potential recruit and determine if they are a good fit or not. After the two week trial we will grant full members, extend the trial period, or deny membership based on how well the applicant fits in, and how well we feel we know them.
Promotions:
Two people will promoted to the political position of Council Member. These two members now take a seat in the most powerful body of the Great Legionnaires, and with it, the responsibility to be informed and make wise and just decisions.
JakBlitz and Valinar are our first two Council Members.

How did you hear about GL: I created GL around 2001 on Dungeon Siege.
Why do you want to join GL: I was tired of the clans I joined falling apart because the leaders left so I created GL.
What parts of GL's ideology do you find most appealing: GL didn't start as anti-griefers but rather became them through our policies once we got involved in Open World PVP politics on Freelancer. I strongly believe that the measure of someone's worth is in what they do for others. This has always shaped GL's ideals and policies. Almost every other clan I have been a part of has fallen short of my expectations in that area. I also strongly believe that a clan that back's down in the face of danger cannot command respect and is not fit to lead a movement. That's why I appreciate that as a leader I can drive a hard policy of never surrender. Our determination is our greatest tool in showing others we are worthy to lead an anti-griefer movement. During it's long history GL has never once surrendered to an enemy clan. Many have surrendered to us. That is a legacy I intend to uphold in PFO and anywhere else we go.
If you have a RP-background/concept for your character, what is it?: Andius is a born leader and crusader against evil. He is unusually tall for a human/half-elf but despite his powerful build his main strengths are as a diplomat and leader. While kind and unselfish where his allies and even neutral players are concerned, he can be quite blunt and wrathful when dealing with evil. (Class as of yet undetermined but I'm still leaning toward cleric.)
Missed your follow up post -- is there a current game that everyone is teaming up in?
Me and 3 other members are currently on Darkfall plus some of the old Darkfall members are popping up again. It's not official yet though.

Some people play Minecraft. Others Lotro and Some are experiencing Open PVP in Darkfall. I think we are sort of waiting for a game to come out we can hit as a guild. Something like Plantside 2 or Neverwinter. They might not be anything like PFO but, just to promote guild and alliance bonding its a good idea.
Other than those a few people have pre-prechased Guild Wars 2.

Adding to my last post other games such as Mechwarrior Online have been discussed atm. We are trying to look into more Free-to-play games since it is easy for anyone with a decent gaming deck to join up and play. If anyone has any suggestions for up coming FTP games let me know. I will try to gauge the interest on it so we can make a more informed decision.

My intention is to allow a system for people to setup any game they play as a placeholder and recruit members on it. That's a very, very, very, brief summary but I think it makes sense seeing as we have people on Minecraft, LotRO, and are actually bringing in recruits on Darkfall. We aren't all going to agree on one game. Why not bring in people from those games rather than trying to force everyone into games they may not want to play?

I agree... I think you have to find a game that you are have fun playing, if you find like minded people that are a good fit for GL then that is a bonus! I am currently on Darkfall and have a good time and look forward to actually grouping up with the rest of the clan.

I've had various friends pester me about MW Online. I'm really tempted to go that route, as free makes my life *much* easier.
Myself as well as atleast 2 members of the veil are going to be hitting MWO when it comes online next month. Just talking about factions or a merc company with them at the moment.
I have a darkfall account but, I am having are hard time getting into it just because its very vauge and doesn't teach you very much in the begining. Also I just have alot going on now that I am part of 3 Alliance Camps. for PFRPG.

Bad news. My next to Wednesdays are booked at GL clan meeting time. Next two including the one upcoming in two days. I'm in P&P campaigns on Thursday and Friday evenings and I work till 8-9 PST every other day of the week........
So.................
This meetings topic is very important... I'm wondering how we could go about solving this issue.
My best idea at the moment is that I can hold a private meeting with Jak and/or Valinar and then they can lead Wednesday's meeting...
I'm really not sure...
The Wednesday meeting time is still going to work for me longterm but just not for these next two weeks. I would really hate to delay this meeting out that long though. I think setting up a very rough system right now and perfecting it later is better than waiting 2+ weeks.

Pretty much. The big 3 voice servers for video games are Ventrilo, Teamspeak, and Mumble. And if you're like me and know too many people, you've got all 3 installed and have to try and remember who is on which one.

We are more focused on the promotion of Good than Law, but we may call upon you as needed. If you were to sell your services to those of Good or Neutral bent, but avoid Evil where possible, I could even see an alliance being possible. Talk to the bossman (Andius) about such a thing, could be handy to be involved in the growth of a city so your army could be trained as quickly as possible.

play eve so i have already seen how the dark concept of "unpunished" crimes affects the Gameflow and the Fun of "peacefull" player so
i think this is a good concept aswell as the fact that it wont go for
expansive conquest but instead a more easygoing peacefull approach

i dont have any real RP background as i almost exclusively only played themepark games but i have a concept
HE/SHE will be somewhat of a lonewolf which shys from attention of everyone but a few friends and comrads valueing freedom over Power/Authority normaly Friendly but easiely to anger due to having a short temper

So the meeting went well. It was too bad more people couldn't make or didn't know about it. Next time I will send out PMs to have it better communicated.
On another note. I might be restructuring a Friday night Pathfinder RPG. Too many players have dropped due to external reasons and it is leaving me with little choice on the Matter. The restructured Campaign will be the Runelords Aniversary or New Shattered Star. Unless the PCs are extremely intent on another one of the APs. I would like to start it next friday and if possible find a few more people to play. It would be a weekly thing and if you are interested give me a PM or post here. Will see how this works out. I will also be on the teamspeak friday night to see what remaining members of the group want to do.
*Note if you ask and the party has filled already my apologies. I usually run 5-6 PC parties to compensate for missing members. Most Likely the program of choice will be Roll20.net since its free to use.

So after talking with a few people It seems there is interest in running the New Shattered Star AP. Of the potential nights of running it Sunday seems to be the most popular night (other choices being wednesday or friday). Let me know what you think. It sounds like i have 2-3 confirmed/Likely PCs atm. I will also be posting this in the veil forums.
