Earth Mastery + grapple + move

Rules Questions

So, an earth elemental grapples its target, it wins so it is the grappler. The critter fails to escape on its turn. On it's next turn the earth elemental decides to move the critters its grappling 10 feet straight down into the earth. Now the critter gets another chance to break away at the +4 for being moved into dangerous territory, for this example it fails again. What can the creature that is/was grappled do at this point? It has been buried 10 feet into the ground/rock without ever disturbing the ground.

Is this pretty much an instant win for the elemental since the now buried creature is helpless, suffocating, and buried alive?

Or is there a way for the poor critter to actual break free?

I don't believe the earth elemental bestows earth glide on a grapple victim, so you cannot move the the creature through the earth without first breaking up the earth.

By the same token you can't summon/improved familiar an earth elemental and simply hold hands to gain earth glide.
