Ok, so I think I'm leaning toward giving the inquisitor a shot - dwarf inquisitor to be precise.

He will be starting at 3rd level.

Ay spells and/or feats that are a must have?

Well, are you focusing on ranged or melee? Those are very different sets of Feats.

Very fun and workable. What deity are you thinking of?

Steel Soul. At level 1.

And if you want to give your GM even more of a headache, add a domain that increases your defense further, like liberation.

Liberty's Edge

Sorry, no tengus - he will be a dwarf :)

We are playing in Greyhawk (Shackled City) so he will worship Moradin.

I wonder why the Inquisitor just hasn't ever gotten my interest as a class which I could make a proper character to. Then again, after seeing this thread, I am thinking of changing my Cleric of Norgorber into an Inquisitor of Norgorber. But it's only a maybe.

If you use him more as a melee cleric be sure to do it.

Clerics got really weak in PF.

Inquisitors have more Skillpoints (always cool), have most of their buffs as swift actions and are really versatile.
And you still have some buffs like Divine Favor lying around just in case you have a Lesser Rod of Quicken Spell or some time before combat.

Well, that does sound like the type of sneaky unholy warrior that he'd kinda be. Especially if I take the Deception sub-domain.

At least you don't have to cry out: IN NORGORBERS NAME I SHALL SMITE YOU! DIVINE FAVOR!!! *briiiiiiiiiiiiing*

Every time you wanna be able to do anything.

Inqusitors also have Stealth & Perception as classskills which will come in handy. But note that the Conversion or Heresy Domains will suite you MUCH better. Conversion if you wanna be the real face or heresy if you just want to be good at stealthing.
Or you take the Infiltrator Archetype... or Preacher which is also good for solos.

I've played one Inquisitor and was the primary healer of the group. The thing with the Inquisitor is you have to build it to be a healer. You can have Inquisitors with no healing at all. If build the Inquisitor as healer it can work fine as the primary healer.

I found the Inquisitor to be in the middle for healing. Clerics, Oracles and Paladins are better healers. The Bard, Witch, Alchemist and Ranger are worse healers.

Clerics got weak in Pathfinder?

Still one of the most powerful classes in my eyes.

Inquisitors are my favorite and dwarf is a great choice. Pick a god with the Travel domain and you should be set.

If being better than the Rogue counts as "most powerful classes", then yes :)

It's a homebrew campaign. Maybe the Thunder Dragon or maybe the fey Wandering Court of Stars or whatever it's called. A bunch of vigilante pegasus-riding fey knight errants.

Moradin huh... so by the all father, for some reasonweb shelter isnt available to inquisitors so forget I said anything... for some resaon I thought it was.... are you usingtraits too???

becuase this one might help

and or this one

moradin's domains are good,law,protection,earth, artifice
in pathfidner's core rules there is no dwarf or creation domains.
racial domains are in a 3pp and I think the creation domain was renamed artifice
as an dwarven inquisitor you get weapon proficiency with moradin's favored weapon: the warhammer

weapon focus warhammer is a must at some point.

as for the domain
you have a choice of:
earth

good

law

protection

artifice
my recamendation
earth domain. acid dart and acid resistance or the cave sub domain which replaces the acid resistance and gives you the ability to move underground and better darkvision.
following that the protection domain is next in line.

Nope, still a full tier one spellcaster. Mind you the often talked about but rarely used CodZilla build was nerfed a bit.

Yes, What is Channel Divinity?

I think what was meant was Channel Energy

I am not very good at rules, but from observation I found that the buffing usually takes quite some time, even up to a point where the other heavy hitters (if the party has any) have already vanquished the enemy while you are still casting.
So if any feats or something exist that can speed this up, I think that would be awesome for the class.

Generally you pre-buff, then one round of “round per level” duration. Inquisitor has Swift self-buffs. I’d say if your party is taking down the foe in two rounds, maybe buffing them isn’t needed.

You generally don't buff them as an inquisitor, you buff yourself. And I see it taking up time that could be spent with that wonderful damage output. Because that is what they do best.

But as said, I don't have a very broad scope of experiences with them.

The cleric has such a bad spelllist in PF. Its hard to even describe this in words. Just take a look at it. It even hurts.

Druids have by far a better spelllist (except Heal being 7 instead of 6). And are more powerful anyway.
Druids are the new clerics.

Witches are the new white mages.
