It's on page 31 of the Pathfinder Core Rulebook:
Favored Class
Each character begins play with a single favored class of his choosing---typically, this is the same class as the one he chooses at 1st level. Whenever a character gains a level in his favored class, he receives either +1 hit point or +1 1 skill rank. The choice of favored class cannot be changed once the character is created, and the choice of gaining a hit point or skill rank each time a character gains a level (including his first level) cannot be changed once made for a particular level. Prestige classes (see Chapter 11) can never be a favored class.

Val'Ross just completed his 3 adventure and is 2nd level. OK I am real slow here.
"begins play with a single favored class" Is this the same as choosing a class like "fighter, rouge ect." Does favored class use any skill or feat ranks? Is it just a free HP or skill for sticking to our chosen class.
I will beat the critics to the punch. I am Dislexic and have a hard time understanding how some of the rules work. I will call myself "Stupid"
Thank you for the information guys, It really helps.

You can choose any class as favored, even if it isn't a typical for your race (dwarf wizard).Every time you get a level in the favored class you can pick one extra HP OR one extra skill rank. This choice has nothing to do with feats or class skill ranks. You get to pick them as normal for your class after you choose the extra HP or skill rank.
