Dracula - the 1931 one, with Bela Lugosi.
I remember my 11-½ year old self finding this scene strangely compelling... ;)
Favourite movie based on a book, play, or plain old movie-script by Graham Greene?

I was terribly puzzled by this question, since I couldn't find any books, plays, OR movie scripts by Graham Greene. :)
Since I haven't seen any of the movies based on the writings of that other [ur;=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Graham_Greene]Graham Greene[/url] (although I have heard of several of them and they are reputed to be very good), I'll have to pass. The question is still open.

The Third Man is awesome, everyone should see it, and, I believe, Greene wrote the screenplay and THEN wrote the book, which is definitely reverse the normal order of things.
Favorite Orson Welles role that's not Harry Lime?

Wow, I am a big fan of Shakespeare and I think there have been many worthy adaptions of his plays, it is quite hard to make a choice, but I will go with a tie between Richard III and Kenneth Brannaghs Henry V (with Brannaghs Hamlet and Polanskis Macbeth as honorary seconds).
Favorite Movie 'inspired' by Shakespeare but not an adaption (something like In the bleak Midwinter or Forbidden Planet)?

Okay, so I can't attest for his whole career or anything, but I always thought this guy was the weak link in both The Big Sleep AND The Maltese Falcon!
What is your favorite movie by Howard Hawks?
| Doodlebug Anklebiter |
Because I have no answer, I am going to take this opportunity to put up some more links!
The Hunger Games which I might see sometime this week
I don't think it ever gets up to Welles, but here's the legendary opening shot of Touch of Evil

I've only seen The Glenn Miller Story, The Man from Laramie, The Tin Star and El Cid. I saw them when I was young, so that may have clouded my view. Of the 4, I liked "The Glenn Miller Story" the best.

Not sure I'd consider people like Pauly Shore to be "top billed" -- it's not like you see them starring in actual, you know, serious movies. For "stars" who are truly crap actors, Kevin Costner is a usual favorite to pick on, but personally I think that Tony Curtis was even worse. A Viking with a Jersey accent?

Two words for you: Bio-Dome.
Sure, the movie is undeniably awful, but still look at the movie poster:
Pauly Shore. Top billed. I rest my case. :)
Either way, my question is still open!

I don't mean to troll, but I didn't much care for I Am Legend.
The Omega Man, otoh, kicks much ass! (Also, at 1:30 is every leftie's wet dream!...well, at least until 1:55!)
Which begs the question, aside from the aforementioned, what's your favorite Charlton Heston movie?

Okay, fine, it doesn't have to be about chicks. It can be about dudes sword-fighting, too.
Ridicule is awesome but French.
Favorite movie with swords but no actual sword fights?
Edit: if I had to put a sticker on it, I'd say Ridicule falls more into hot chick than sword fight territory.

What would be the point [heh, get it?]?
It would be the opposite of one of my favorites, Ridley Scott's The Duellists, which is nothing BUT swordfights!| Doodlebug Anklebiter |

It would seem to be a violation of basic Chekovian dramatic principles.
I have no answer as of yet.
The Duellists gets props for having an Iron Maiden song written about it.

I saw that on the CBS late night move when I was prepubescent and thought the whole thing was a dream until now!
