Spells: ranged touch attack

Rules Questions

Which attack bonus does a character get? This always confuses me no matter how many times my GM has told me what to add (and I always forget).

Melee or Ranged?

ranged

Melee or Ranged?

A ranged touch attack uses ranged.

A melee touch attack uses touch.

-edit-
I mean a melee touch attack uses melee.

They both are VS touch AC.

Sorry!

Ranged touch attacks are ranged attacks vs the touch AC.

So, you would use the ranged attack bonus( generally BAB + dex mod + feats)

the target would only get their touch AC (no armor bonus, natural armor bonus, or shield bonuses).
