My weakness is that I just care too much.

I'd like to point out that Kyle Baird is so effective at killing players, he got my paladin to willingly kill himself without magical interference....Sacrifice yourself to a dark god willingly, or we kill your entire party... and in that party was my paladin's "baby" sister. Evil, evil man he is.

In my experience, the number of players doesn't really impact game time.

Now run 7 player table with 4 Summoners, a player that has to look up every spell during his turn to figure out what he is casting, another player that takes for ever to figure out his bonuses to hit *And gets it wrong every single time* and another player that argues with the GM with every rule...

I have had some game mechanics bread down. 4 of the 7 players had pets 3 of which are large. The PC overflowed the place PCs here/murder box and started next to the enemy caster. If you dont play up the combat encounters tend to be a little light(the PCs just have so many more actions). We have all seen "hay wait that was just my animal companion" then they try to figure out what they (the pc)are doing.

The writers need to write encounters and make the murder boxes at least 12 spaces(if they are going to use murder boxes)

It's my personal weakness as a GM. I'm sure everyone has at least one, even the mighty Kyle Baird
My "weakness" is only a perceived one. I only let some players survive my tables so that they can tell other players that it wasn't so tough and they should play at my table. This fake compassion for their character's lives keeps more poor souls showing up at the table.

You mean like the ENTIRE table that will survive Friday, August 17, 2012 from 7 PM to 12 AM?

/Sorry, I couldn't resist.
//Especially with that thread calling me out.
///I'm probably going to get my table TPK'ed.
////For the greater good!

Probably?

I'm sorry, I should be speaking in more definite terms. We aren't going to TPK...

/...I hope.

I assure you, there is no hope.

...(trim Bob's comments about table size)....

... (trim for space)...I regularly see 7 player tables, sometimes more than one at the same event/slot.... (trim more for space)....

I plan to be Judging again tonight at a local store and last week they had one or two 7 player tables, so we'll see tonight.
...(trim)....

Three tables last night

5 player table - Tier 7-11
7 player table - Tier 1-7
6 player table - Tier 1 (first steps)

and this was on a different night than usual. (we got bumped from Tuesday to Wednesday).

I kind of feel bad about the 7 player table, I had planned to Judge a table, but it looked like I was going to have only three players and I got lured into playing at the 7-11 table. I thought the other two tables were going to be 6 plaer tables and didn't realize they weren't until much later.

So, I talked to one of the players from the 7 player table.... and the only major complait he had was the table size (a minor one about the Judge, who he said was very good, just did something he didn't like). In his words - "to many players).

so, I should have took my advice and ran a 4th table ... then the tables would likely have been...

4 player table - Tier 7-11
4 player table - Tier ??? likely 5-9
4 player table - Tier 1-5
5 player table - Tier 1 (first steps)

Believe it or not, I've had players tell me that they refused to sign up on line because they hated Warhorn or some other lame reason and if I refused to seat them because they were "extra" players, they would quit.

I actually really hate Warhorn, and often thought about using Meetup instead. It's a terrible interface that is used mainly because the sign-ups are probably it's strongest feature.

I personally dislike meetup. One it costs money, two it always seemed clunky.

I use Warhorn all the time. I don't know of any other website that provides the level of support for PFS organized play that it does (well, of course, besides this one). Considering it's essentially fan-made/supported for donations, I think it is amazing what it does to support the PFS community overall.

I don't mean to detract from the OP/intent of the thread.

Liberty's Edge 1/5

I've used Warhorn for organizing conventions with 60 plus people as well as for recurring gamedays. I find it very useful and have been sad that the 2nd edition hasn't yet been released. It has some clunky work intensive areas from the organizer side, but from the player side, the only complaint I have is the need to make new accounts for each site. YMMV.

Also offering apologies for threadjacking.
