How important is Dex to an Invulnerable Rager?

Advice

I'm beginning the Jade Reagent adventure path soon and I've decided to play an Invulnerable Rager.

My dilemma (and I know its silly), is how to arrange my stats. We're using 20 point buy. So far, here is what I've put together:

16 (+2 Racial)
14
15
10
12
7

OR

17(+2 Racial)
12
15
10
12
7

The 15 Con is for Raging Vitality. I plan on bumping it to 16 at 4th level.

I know there's not a huge difference. I'm just wondering if I'll be kicking myself for not having that 14 dex when I take combat reflexes later on, or if waiting till 12th level instead of 8th level to get that 20 strength will matter.

These are small things, but I'm neurotic so they matter to me. Thanks in advance.

Bump to 18 at 4th IMO.

I would go:

15 + 2 + 1 = 18
14
16
10
12 (don't know what you want 12 here but here you go)
7

Its ALWAYS more point efficient to bump 17 to 18 - you end up MUCH better stats in the long run.

Your probably going end up using a breastplate for your armour anyway so i'd go the 14 dex route to keep the ac up, that way with a belt and mithril breastplate you'll have your best AC and you'll have enough aoo's with combat reflexes to make come and get me worthwhile.

Aye I was just looking up the various armours.

Assuming you get a Str/Dex/Con belt then 14 seems ok. I would like 16 but con is more important for a Barbarian really.

The 12 Wisdom is because almost every point configuration I've put together has 2 left over points, and I'm not a fan of playing stupid or dense characters. I figured bumping the wisdom to 12 will help with will saves and perception checks, also its give me a little more depth for role playing.

Well. 12 int and +1 skill point for perception will help more.

Will save is important though.

I am looking for the trait that gives more saves (Superstitious something or other) but can't find it. That might be a good bet too.

Or go for Half-Orc and get the tatoos for +1 on saves from the APG. And your Will Save is bumped while raging - so get more CON for more rounds of rage per day. *hehe*

I'm pretty set on Human. I'm all for optimization, but I still have some role playing guidelines I want to adhere to.

Superstition is a rage power.

Honestly if you play a human, you can make wisdom a dump stat (except for the perception penalty).

With Superstition, and Eater of Magic (another rage power) you either won't fail even with an 8 wisdom, or you can get a 2nd roll with Eater of Magic.

I'd just make wisdom a 10, and make int a 12 or even 7.

Even though you have to level 10 to get Eater of Magic, your Superstion and Human Superstition bonus should see you through.

Make sure you take an oracle level along the way, since you'll have to wait for level 17 to rage cycle if you don't.

Ahhhh brain fail. Yes, not a trait a human alternative favoured class bonus!

Barbarian: Add a +1/2 bonus to trap sense or +1/3 to the bonus from the superstitious rage power.

Better than an HP or skill point.
