Id have to go with the magic item compendium.

Rules Compendium

close second would be

Magic of Incarnum

I think it would make sense for Paizo to refit their own major 3.5 APs to PF.

I'd love to see the 3.5 Draconomicon updated to Pathfinder.

Silver Crusade

Almost everything that WotC published is closed content, so not much chance there.

I loved Incarnum, from WotC. I still think it was the most balanced magic system they've made to date.

That said, I'd love to see a "Book of Exalted Deeds" or "Book of Vile Darkness" equivalents.

Kama Sutra.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: I love incarnum and I wish Paizo could redo it.

And you understand of course even if they wanted to they can't.

A book about aberrations (Lords of Madness), full of alien, inhuman, mind breaking - but not necessarily Lovecraftian - creatures to be unleashed upon Golarion.

A book about implementing war in actual play and not in some abstract sub-system (Heroes of Battle).

A new setting hardcover that deals with the inland areas of Casmaron, with the rough hard edges of the original Campaign Setting and without the content polishing of the Inner Sea World Guide (sorry: it's as beautiful to look at as it feels impersonal and aseptic to read, when compared to the original HC).

This.

Alternatively they could do something like Revisited series but whit Aboleths, Intellect devourers, etc.
Also i would like to see something like "Book of Exalted Deeds" and "Book of Vile Darkness" but they already have Book of the Damned series, so there probably wont be "Vile Darkness".

1: Magic of Incarnum
2: Spell Compendium
3: Magic Item Compendium
4: Tome of Battle/Book of 9 Swords

Those are the non-PF books we use the most, listed in the order I feel they *need* redone.

ToB works well with only minor adjustments, while Incarnum (which I also loved) needs the most work to bring it to PF standards.

I also know that Incarnum and ToB are not up for PFizing. However, nothing prevents Paizo from creating their own versions of the Spell & Magic ITem Compendiums. Though they'd probably have to rename them.

I wouldn't object to a Rules Compendium, gathering up those rules scattered throughout the APs, Gazetters and other publications, especially if they're not going to reprint any of them.

Come to think about it, what I'd love to see is for Hasbro to sell Paizo *all* the 3.x stuff, much like they dumped AD&D 2nd. I'm not holding my breath on that, though.

Hasbro dumped AD&D because it was no longer a competitive product. The same can't be said for 3.5 especially as Pathfinder gains more traction. Such a move would be extremely foolish on their part, especially on the eve of a new product line launch.

Dark Archive

Complete Champion / Complete Warrior.

Ok, ok how about the complete "complete series"

No, there's enough bloat in PF as it is. Adding more will only hurt the game.

Books I'd like to see rewritten by Paizo:

Pathfinder Core Book
Advanced Player's Guide
Ultimate Magic
Ultimate Combat

:P

Silver Crusade

3 people marked this as a favorite.

Orcs of Golarion.

But for non-Paizo books, I want to see the ideas behind Book of Exalted Deeds revisited, but done better both in terms of flavor and balance. Holy flavor options for all classes, meaningful and useful support for ascetic characters, further fleshing out for celestials and ways to tie characters of all classes to them, support material for players that actually want to play super-idealistic characters and actually like the idea of redemption in-game, etc.

3 people marked this as a favorite.

Lords Of Madness-like books about inhuman alien aberrations and cosmic monstrosities.

Core Rulebook
Advanced Player's Guide
Bestiary
Ultimate Combat
Ultimate Magic

Yes, sadly. But maybe by some cosmic interference.

Well, Sebastian already beat me to a smart-ass answer. Mine was going to be The Bible--but now in a twist, I'll un-smart-ass it and say Testament: Role-Playing in the Biblical Era.

I would like to see a Rules Compendium type book as well. I used that book a whole lot when I was playing 3.5. It was nice to not have to flip all over the place to find how Grappling worked, or how Wild Shape/Polymorph worked, or how...

They did write Lords of Madness. :-)

Other than that and Magic of Incarnum, I would say Book of Erotic Fantasy and Exalted Core Rulebook.

Sovereign Court

I'd have to say a book of vile darkness, and a book of exalted deeds, although I have to be clear on this, the book of exalted deeds should not be "here's the good version of this thing you read about in the book of vile darkness" ravages I'm looking at you.

Elves of Golarion

Full agreement here, as well. Sigh...where's that ring of wishes when you really need it?

I would like to see Ultimate Combat and Ultimate Magic rewritten into one book like the APG.

All the experimental rules would be removed (i.e. Words of Power, called shots), the broken stuff fixed, errata and clairification where needed, perhaps a little bit of nerfing, player traps removed (i.e. trap ranger), and paring down the spell lists as casters have enough already.

That is my wish.

So you want them to add a product that removes options currently available...

I want a version of Unearthed Arcana. Unfortunately, the mighty dinosaur has denied this request for a book of alternate rules more than once.

Yes

I am not sure what exactly you are refering to. The removing of broken things like antagonize and Terrible remorse? The further margalization of rogues with the vivestionist archtype? Or the optional rules? I can go on.

I will explain my thoughts in a different way. I was very happy with the APG. For the most part, a great book. Ultimate Combat and Magic were not even close in terms of quality and content.

"I feel" that optional rules system should be in thier own book, like unearthed arcana. Then people who would like that kind of stuff can get it. And the optional / alternative rules that were given, were generally poorly done.

Overall, I think they can easily cut enough out of the two books to merge into one great book, like the APG.

That is "my" wish.

I would actually enjoy a Pathfinder version of this.

Probably have to be done by 3PP, though.

And it can't use the Pathfinder Compatibility license.

Honestly, aside from the Incarnum, I'd love to see a re-write of Tome of Magic with updated Shadowmage and the Pact mages.

Oh yeah those too.

Well I would like to see Paizo's take on 'Tome of Battle', but mostly only because I hate to see potential wasted. What I really want to see is their version of 'Complete Scoundrel'. I'm not the biggest fan of the complete series(added a lot of bloat) but man that book was fun.

Silver Crusade

Creature Collection 1-3
Any other Scarred Lands Material
Exalted so that it is compatible with PFRPG
Magi-Nation

All the complete line, I miss them

Not sure about re-written; but retrofitted and balance I'd like to see Ebberon (it would save me the time as I have players wanting to get back in.... - I know it's highly unlikely - but it's a wish).

I enjoyed Hollow World and Darksun (again issues here too).

In no particular order (okay, the order is alphabetical as I read them off the D&D Art Gallery Archive list):
Draconomicon (3.5, I'm guessing)
Dragon Magic
Frostburn
Magic of Incarnum
Races of the Wild
Sandstorm
Stormwrack

I'm sure there are some non-WotC books, but I don't have a convenient list of them.

Pathfinder Chronicles: Guide to Absolom.

Grand Lodge

Eberron campaign setting.
We can only hope.

Epic Level Handbook!

A must imo, I almost feel as if there is no point to starting new characters if there is no epic levels to strive for. (There is of course the fun of playing the first 20 levels, but it's not enough.)

I don't know anything about bloat... I just hate playing the same generic I "Hit" things or I cast "spells".

I like options and lots of them as with any system people can freely choose not to use or let be used books in a game. My group (and i am lucky) allows almost anything and we honor that by trying not to abuse anything. I love PRC and find Archetypes to be limiting. I love all the PRC in the complete series,,, made some great PC's from them.

Liberty's Edge

Honestly? If Pathfinder is going to be so popular an RPG, I would like to see the core book re-written to correct some stuff, make some stuff make more sense, tone down Channelling and make it a Swift action, and include Reserve Points or something like that so healing ability is distributed.

Although I am a big fan of Eberron (and am just getting into Dark Sun) I would actually prefer these not to be rewritten by Paizo - I have the 3.5* & 4e books and wouldn't want to feel I would need to buy them all again for some minor rules tweaks.

*For Dark Sun I just bought the Dungeon and Dragon magazine PDFs that update Dark Sun to 3.5
