Legacy of Fire, Suli Character Ideas...

Legacy of Fire

We're starting the Legacy of Fire campaign soon, and its to heavily revolve around Genie's and the "Persian" theme. I don't know all the archetypes of the various classes, so I was looking for advice about what to play that would incorporate the Suli race, and have some sort of "elemental" feel within this setting. I prefer more of a warrior type, thinking about using a Curved Elven Blade two handed, with Keen eventually added to it. We get 25 points for attribute dispersion. Any thoughts? Thanks!

It would fit the AP better to use a falchion. Also, there are no elves in the AP, so no special blades. Falchions and scimitars, on the other hand, there are plenty of.

As for the archetype stuff, I can't help without a bit of research.

From the Companion Players Guide, There are a variety of races including elves. And I can pretty much get my hands on any weapon since Katapesh sells just about anything.

A falchion might fit better, Im just looking at something that will give me some decent damamge as well as a 15-20 crit after I apply Keen to my blade.

The point was that there are some *nice* falchions and scimitars available as loot in the campaign - ones you won't be able to afford to buy. Also, you won't always have access to Katapesh. As long as you don't take any feats or traits limiting you to the curve blade, you should be able to use whatever you find.

btw - what I meant by "no elves" is that there aren't any elf npcs. I'm trying to give advice as someone who has played the campaign, yet I don't want to give spoilers.

Good to know, thanks!

I know you wanted to do a martial type but a great idea (in my opinion) would be a genie binder wizard, especially if you could get your hands on Ultimate Options: Wizard Discoveries by Super Genius Games. In there is a discovery that lets you take a genie companion, kind of like leadership only based on intelligence. You need to be 5th level but still really cool.

Suli make fantastic Paladins... and Ninja.... If it was me I would probably be most drawn to a Crossblooded Efreeti/Draconic Sorcerer into Dragon Disciple :D

In response to Salt, my daughter played a Suli Genie binding wizard and it was quite nice.

Plus the great powers of the PrC come in to main fruition as you encounter more genies in the AP. Real nice addition to any campaign.

The Daivrat PrC is also nice, which gives you a genie familiar which can go out and find a spell you dont know in your spell book so you can memorize it for that day. As you get higher in level, you get access to higher level spells.

Anyway, both PrC's are cool for this campaign if you are a wizard.

I once read about the the final fight of the AP in a story treat, where Javhul revealed, that the fire bloodline sorcerer was of his blood and offered him to switch side to rule <strike>the universe</strike> the world together. In this game the player apparently was thinking about this option for two combat rounds and then actually siding with Javhul. Must have been a hell of a final!

When the players know that a session is the campaign finale they are more willing to do crazy rp stuff. In a L5R game I once hosted for 2 years I got one of the players to betray the group in a similar fashion.
