Is there an electronic creature statblock template available?
I'm trying to duplicate the current statblock format with Word and it's driving me CRAZY!!!
In particular, replicating the lines above and below Defense, Offense, etc., is really a pain in the butt.
Has someone cracked this or is there a template available somewhere?

You pretty much aren't going to be able to. The reason for this is that the double-rule in the statblock is created with a program specifically designed for layout (my guess is that they use the industry-standard InDesign, but it could be QuarkXpress or a handful of other programs). It's still a bit of a pain to replicate that look exactly when you have access to those kinds of programs.
Even the stat block templates that were graciously created in the second thread that Robert linked to simply uses a gray-bar background.
Formatting in Word is like hammering in screws - it'll get the job done, but it ain't gonna be pretty.
At Frog God Games I simply use an
ALL-CAPS SUB-TITLE AND BOLD IT
and that seems to separate things out quite nicely. :)

The issue with Word is that it adds height of border element to overall paragraps height. Hence, if you want to replicate OFFENSE style, you need to define paragraph height _minus_ line height.
In short:
- Define new paragraph style. Assign default height. Set paragraph style to use capitals only.
- Declare upper and lower border, note border height.
- Reduce paragraph height by double of the borders width - note that Word may be unable to accomodate properly. LibreOffice however can.
If you want to produce higher quality publications, you need to invest your time in learning LaTeX or Scribus (use Google to find these free alternatives).

I use microsoft excel, well actually openoffice cause it's free. You can replicate the format almost exactly with those. Actually once i got used to it i use my own format now, as there is a couple things in the standard format i preferred changed. i prefer my stealth and perception scores at the top :D
