AoO options.

Advice

AoO question. So far as I now know only leaving a threatened square (Without using 5 foot step or withdraw)or specific actions that list it in the description provoke AoOs. Is there a way to provoke upon entering a threatened square? As it stands now I can Knockdown for str damage (Does Power Attack add to this?) and then AoO if they get up.

The barbarians rage power "Unexpected strike" gives you an AOO on ANY enemy movement, thus entering a threatened square.

Is an AoO just a basic attack, out can you use anything that replaces an attack. Like knockdown, our something else?

Alternatively, engineer a situation where they want to leave your threatened area, such as by having a reach weapon.

Or instead of starting your sequence with an AoO, start it with a readied action to attack when they get in reach.

An AoO is a melee attack, and as such anything that does (or can) modify attacks can apply, but things that use their own action don't.

For instance, performing a disarm replaces a melee attack, so you can use that for your AoO.

Performing a grapple requires a standard action, and is therefore not an option for your AoO.

You could also use one of the "Quick" feats from Ultimate combat to increase you options for AoO. For example Quick Dirty Trick.

Would this be possible?

Ready action to attack, and Unexpected Strike. Two attacks when something enters your threatened area.
