Gonna make a halfling later. I am gming a d20 modern tonight. >> But tomorrow I'll have some time.
What does this party need now?

Gordon mentioned something about a Oracle (heavens).
Dragonborn3 seems to have a Summoner.
And Flit has a Cavalier (lion).

So there is a divine caster, a support arcane caster, and a martial character that have shown interest. It probably already has a healthy mix of skills and abilities, so mess around whatever way you like. An expert would round it out nicely, but is by no means necessary.

I am really excited for this. I'm gonna try jump in to the Counts game too, with a sister of Flit and Dizz, maybe a Geisha Bard! Should be fun! :)

1 year from now maybe the Whistle family will make their way into official Golarion canon.

Perhaps a story submission to Wayfinder is in order...

*Cough*

Hypothetically.

Hahaha! That would be truly legendary. Tales of Flitter, Dizzy, Glitter and Ma and Pa Whistle. I would read that...

Hypothetically...

Liberty's Edge

Sounds great. Have fun with CoT! Dizzy, I look forward to your submission in my thread.

Our halflings could be sister and we could recreate a part of The Shining!

We don't have to recreate The Shining, but I am in favor of creepy halfling sisters. Don't let me change your mind if you are in love with your summoner though.

Regarding my own character: I was planning on going with deaf for my oracle curse. May I use one of my bonus languages to learn some sort of sign language, which perhaps one other character (creepy sister) also knows?

I would play an intro. I had my ideas about why my character would hate Cheliax, in the form of being a (recently escaped/freed) slave of some important, well-respected person, doing what you'd expect a slave who looks like a little girl to have to do. I have no desire to roleplay that part, but maybe before that? I'm not attached to any backstory that isn't compatible with the GM's story ideas.

I want to join your as well, but I may be late. Weight calculations take a while.

I imagine not; nor would I be overly comfortable GMing that part.

There is plenty of fodder there for an intro, though;

Such as starting the intro right after her escaping and fleeing the bounty hunter hunting her down, or starting free and ending the intro with her being captured and forced into aforementioned life. Or other things too, I'm sure. Again, just bouncing ideas around.

I go away for a little while and come back and there's 60+ posts and we be halflings becomes legitimate. :)

You seem to have drawn more interest than you have spots, but I'm always up for a halfling ninja since you seem to be missing the rogue niche. Using the class to more represent trickster rogue rather than an assassin.

Don't worry, I'll leave it open for several days before I select submissions. You've got time.

Yes yes this is all just hypothetical for the moment! :P

I don't work tomorrow...

Play Fruit Ninja Kinect...Reread CoT...Play Fruit Ninja Kinect...Reread CoT...

Tough call. I could use some work on my hand-eye coordination, I won't lie. But getting We-Be-Halflings going would also be a ton of fun (and involves less tripping over my cats). We got rolling again in one of my NB games, but for the last day or 2 there have only be crickets chirping, so I have to go find out why, but that also frees up some time.

Well legitimately hypothetical then.

I'm just saying....we've come a long way from making shoddy LOTR references.

In short, colour me interested. (see what I did thar?)

We probably should've just flown- it was a long way to go. Dangerous too.

So...who is going to be the racist, Chelish slaver who died and was reincarnated as halfling?

Hahaha! I would LOVE to say me but it would not suit my character! :D

Glitter twirls in to the room, strumming her harp softly, before grinning at Flit and Dizzy. "Hey big brothers!" Glitter laughs softly, before casting Cord of Shards and aiming it at her siblings! "MWAHAHAHA DIE! I AM THE BESTEST!"

Hahaha Sorry. Wanted to get Glitter in to the string too so all three of my Halflings would be in the same place for once! :)

Creepy...

That might actually be fun to play. I was thinking a roguish chaotic neutral halfling involved in the Bellflower Network playing as a Ninja, but I prefer to fluff the asian element out of the class and simply treat it as 3.5's factorum/beguiler/arcane-trickster sort of class.

Her background could easily be that she's a reincarnated chelish slaver and it could add a level of irony due to her radical views of halflings being the superior race compared to the lanky despicable tall-folk and her underlying desire not only to see all halflings free, but to 'reverse the tables' as such.

I miss that character. The party's half-orc paladin probably didn't.

I should amend this. The party's half-orc invoker truly did not miss him. My illusionist was also an accomplished alchemist- whilst paralyzed and grappled by a roper he go hit by a scorching ray that missed the monster by cover, setting off his 67 alchemist fires and 26 acid vials. Ever see a roper killed by 93 splash damage? Yeah, the DM didn't until that day either.

"YOU HAD HOW MUCH ALCHEMIST FIRE ON YOU?!?!"

DM ruled that he couldn't be raised from the dead because there wasn't anything left of the body but a crater full of napalm.

Hilareous. In the old 3.x adventure Forge of Fury my group fought the roper, got a standoff with my character wedged in its mouth, and offered it a dead bear from an earlier room encounter as a substitute. They ran off leaving me there in the maw, loaded the bear carcass up with the alchemical fire from the earlier door trap, made a heal check to stick it up to hide the 'addition' and then presented the beastie with the bigger food option. I was let go, it scarfed down the bear, bladders broke and suddenly the roper had fire pouring from its mouth and dove into the underground river trying to put it out. (it came back up less then pleased with us.)

Your invoker brought that memory crashing back to me. Thanks ;)

Hahaha! Awesome Oracle. Creepy picture... -Shudders-

Waltz - That is an awesome concept. Id love to see it in action!

"Never judge a tall-folk till you've walked half a mile in their shoes I always say!"

"Because then when you do judge them you'll be safely half a mile away....."

".....and as bonus you'll also have their shoes."

Hahaha! Bonus's all around then. Safety and shoes!

Once, while under a vampire's enthrallment, my character Bif critted a guard with the equivalent of a popsicle stick puppet and killed him in one go.

Hahaha! Awesome.

So we are trading ridiculous gaming stories huh...? Okay. Lets see...

I play an Ulfen Barbarian, known as Wulf Haggerson, in a Savage Tide Campaign (Which has affectionately become known as Savage Haggerson, after the trio of Ulfen brothers, of which Wulf is a part).

In one session, Wulf and the gang started on a Ship Voyage, to a distant continent. They were awoken in the middle of the night, by the appearance of a Hippo, in the center of their barracks. Needless to say, most of the party was in a state of undress and were mostly unequipped. Wulf himself was naked and had no weapon at hand.

Wulf won initiative and jumped out of his bunk (which he shared with his NPC wife (A story for a different day)) and charged at the Hippo, throwing a punch and missing. Everyone else was up and about at this point. The Gunslinger shot it in the side and the mages were buffing up. The Hippo went next and bit Wulf, grappling the barbarian around his arm and holding on.

Alchemists go. The fool decides to toss a bomb, setting the hippo, Wulf and Wulf's wife, Belinde, on fire.

Status so far: Wulf is naked and unarmed. The Hippo has his arm grappled, in his mouth. Both Wulf and the hippo are on fire.

(This was so damn fun! Haha)

Next round: Wulf manages to become the grappler, rather than the grappled. Gunslinger shoots. Mages Magic Missile. Hippo bites and Alchemist puts out Wife NPC.

All going well so far. Haha

Round 3: Wulf turns grapple in to pin. Everyone does their thing. Hippo squirms. Wife NPC cries.

Round 4: Wulf punches and kills the Hippo. End of combat.

lol My favorite moment ever!

I miss 2e shenanagins (some houserules involved);

I played a paladin (cavalier kit). Our ranger focused on using the lasso. We came across a dragon. Our ranger lassoed the dragon with an unbreakable rope and tied it to my horse. My horse and the dragon made opposed STR checks. The horse won by a landslide. We proceeded to kill the first dragon of the game by dragging it through a nearby house's support beams and dropping the building on it. Then I lost paladin status for failing to consider that there may be an innocent family within.

The memorial service was quite nice.

Great paladin. Months later, same campaign. A horde of feral vampires chase threaten a community. We go into a cave to drive them out only to find that there are hundreds. The party flees. That would be unmanly. I cover the retreat. Vampires swarm me. The I have no weapon at this point, I can't recall why. I punch a vampire. Double natural 20, kill a vampire lord with a silver signet ring to the face.

Months later. Deck of Many Things- I pick up more than a dozen cards. Almost all red! 5 +2 to a statistic (all STR; its capped), powerful magic weapon (hello Holy Avenger!), 2 wishes, 1 save from a terrible fate, and a handful of henchman (all warriors who spec'd in darts- I know, cheap).

Same paladin- months later. I have healing and alchemy proficiencies. Most of the party members are at death's door after a terrible fight. I go to heal the downed members. I critically fail the check, deal 1d4 damage kill my friend. Next party member- same result. Third times the charm, right? Wrong, dead. Final party member, standing but severely wounded. I offer to heal him (no lay on hands left). He tells me he is unsure, I just accidently killed the rest of the party with natural 20s at the wrong time. I tell him the odds that I 20 a 4th time in a row are abyssmally low without even doing the math. He agrees and allows me to try...:)

I retired Sir Stephan after that. His legend lives on.

Hahahahaha! -Hands Ringtail the belt of ridiculousness- Have it... I can not top that...

Come to think of it- my above story isn't totally ridiculous, each instance just involved a series of highly unlikely rolls which led to entertaining outcomes.

Perhaps one day I will tell the legend of Iron Cajones- my first 3.x character. That became an exercise in stupid. I'll have to see if I can find his theme song still floating about on the internet.

Saying that I love you doesn't quite cover it.

Hahahahaha! I would say it too Ringtail but I'd feel weird...

What is this Gra'azt you speak of?

O.O

I will find links...if I'm lucky, SFW links.

EDIT: It would help if I could spell Graz'zt.

Graz'zt.

Ahahahaha! This time the alias change went through!
