Guh...okay, submitted a longer story to the forums of Pathfinder Chronicler. Clocking in at 2500 words at the moment, but I'm sure the fat will get trimmed down quickly enough.
Been thinking of some Runelord-themed magic items, but nothing solid yet. We'll see. I need some Aleve and a short nap first, I think.

Then, someone could stat the alchemical dragons or other dragons mentioned but never fully descripted... do that please!
There were some really weird dragon septs namedropped at the end of AP #4 Fortress of the Stone Giants' "Dragons of Golarion" gazetteer: Abomination Dragons, Dragons of the Celestial Host, Humour Dragons, Mineral Dragons, the Sin Dragon, the Thaumaturgic Dragons, and the Virtue Dragon.
I've asked about them previously, and they're somewhat non-canonical at this point (unless you consider the Dragons of the Celestial Host being a fanciful name for what are now the Imperial Dragons), essentially being thrown at the wall at the time to see if they stuck:
James Jacobs on the AP#4 Other Dragons
It might be up to Tim whether or not it would be worth pursuing one of them for Wayfinder.

This is EXACTLY the kind of stuff I'm talking about, folks. James pretty much has said that this is something that was tossed at the wall, and it didn't stick.
I'd be delighted to see this developed into a concrete article on such dragons...even on just one of them, really. It'd have to be done WELL, though...

It turns out my idea kind of actually happens in canon further down the line.... Not sure if that makes it ineligible or not.
It's been stated here that something is planned for the remnants of the Grey Maidens already.

I referenced a sin dragon named Xerdigris in WF#5, I believe. But he was only part of an adventure's backstory. Nothing I ever statted up. In my mind's eye, I always envisioned sin dragons as powerful things covered in runes on each of their scales. They would have played a role as subservient creatures to the Runelords, in the same way as rune giants. And, at least in the brief explanation I gave for Xerdigris' motivations, the sin dragon had the ability to somehow siphon and use energy from an awakened runewell. If someone would like to give a go of statting one up, maybe that'd help get things started.

Items or spells or creatures that played on the themes of the runelords (particularly greed, for this project) would be cool.
A magic rod made of gold, that, as charges are depleted from it, develops streaks of lead, as the value of the metal is alchemically transmuted into the magical effect, could fit the greed motif.
A long-limbed spindly monster that similarly gains power from consuming wealth, having a rust-monster-like quality that allows it to destroy coin (transmuting it to less-valued 'base' metals like lead or tin) on the target struck, or to downgrade equipment from masterwork to mundane, and gain a buff or some healing from the process, could be much-loathed by those who face it.
A monster that appears as, or generates the illusion of, a pile of riches, or an extravagant item (such as a noble outfit festooned with gems, or an ornate crown or regal scepter), and attacks or corrupts those who attempt to wear or equip it, could also fit the theme. The Runelord of Greed no doubt had many avaricious followers, and leaving a monster-disguised-as-noble-garb or chest-full-of-poisonous-bugs-that-look-like-gold-pierces lying around could be just part of his entertaining effort to keep his greedy apprentices on their toes.
Tying the greed theme to the transmutation school of wizard spells would make sense. The gold rod turning itself to lead as it is used would be using transmutation effects, perhaps 'enobling' the bearer by casting buff spells like eagle's splendor on him (the user becomes more pure and refined, as the rod loses it's value and becomes base and worthless). The jewel-studded robe transforms magically into an ooze-like creature, slithering all over the 'wearer.'
Similarly, submissions involving other runelords could tie together stuff like Wrath and Evocation (a magical torc worn by that Runelords berserkers that allows them to inflict extra elemental damage when raging, for instance), or Gluttony and Necromancy (a monster that can restore health by taking a bite out of a foe, or even by consuming the bodies of the freshly-fallen).

In other news, have my layout and design notes done for my Weal & Woe (two characters operating in Korvosa, the Bloodsworn Vale, and its environs) and am working on the draft; hopefully to have it turned in sometime today.
After spending the weekend ill, I've gotten first draft done. Going to let it sit then go back and double-check things.

Up to 22 submissions now! That is roughly half of the 40+ we are hoping for! To date, I have 7 pieces of fiction (with several more on the way), 4 Weal or Woes (with at least one more from Neil). Two songs/poems. 1 game. 1 puzzle.
I think I'm good on fiction, folks...unless you've got a 750-word story. I could use a few more of those!
What do we still need?
Need more lots more monsters for the bestiary! (have 3 so far)
Need more game crunch articles (classes, magic items, spells or bloodlines or schools). (have 3 so far)
Need more flavor articles (locations, interesting NPCs, events, side treks).... (have 2 so far)
Need more fan art for that gallery I want to get together for the PDF!
Remember the theme, folks! I have received a few that are based on later Paizo works, not the 1st year stuff. I'm not auto-rejecting those (because they are actually pretty good!), but they do get put on the maybe pile for now....

I've a query about the boundaries of Community Use.
I've been working on a Prestige class, based on flavour first provided in CotCT, which builds from a base class from the APG, to build a better fit with an iconic mounted NPC type.
I then found out the other material I was merging this with, while originally being written for D&D3.5, was reworked later in the Inner Sea World Guide.
Is this a problem?
Am I allowed to directly quote any part of the ISWG?
Am I allowed to paraphrase the ISWG into my own words?
Am I allowed to provide page references to the ISWG?

Did anything official ever get written for the Seven Virtues?
I'm aware they ought to map to the same schools of magic as the Sins, as the uncorrupted version of the Thassilonian magic, from the Inner Sea Guide.
Did they ever list seven weapons, or a servitor race?
I'm thinking 'Virtue-Spawn' isn't quite the term I'm looking for.

Ooh, that's a hot idea. Seven imp-equivalent LN outsider critters who may or may not serve Lissala, and have abilities related to the 'seven virtues of rulership' could be fun. 'Virtues' is probably fine all by itself as a name.

Tim, Would you have any interest in a half-dozen campaign traits for Rise of the Runelords, or should we assume those will be added in the updated version of the Path?
I'd say to go for it. Just make them different enough from campaign traits that have already been done (like don't take traits from other APs and amend them to fit RotRL...that's kind of lame). And don't forget that there are Shadow Under Sandpoint campaign traits out there too.

Hi, I submitted a 750 word short story called 'Necessary Vengeance' this past Saturday (the 17th) and haven't had an email back saying it was recieved. I'm curious if it got through all right or if I should try sending it again?
Oops. My bad....yes, I've received it, read it, and logged it in my submissions log. Geez, I need to follow up with a handful of you with confirmation emails, don't I?

Fan projects operating under Paizo’s Community Use Policy are welcome to advertise their websites and materials.
Third party publishers wishing to advertise their Pathfinder Roleplaying Game-compatible projects in Wayfinder #7 are welcome to advertise as well. Space is available for 1/4, 1/2 and full page ads.
Email wayfinder.fanzine@gmail.com for questions about placing an ad. Be sure to include “Wayfinder #7 Advertising” in your subject line.
DEADLINE: April 30, 2012
I am switching my hats here, and putting a bit of focus on getting some ads, now. If you are a 3PP or have the ear of a 3PP, please consider supporting Wayfinder with an ad. Any size ad will do. I have the equivalent of 15 pages reserved for ad space, and we definitely have need of half-page and quarter-page ads just as much as the full-pagers.
Fundraising is going to be critical for this issue, as we are going to need to go to a local printer. That will mean a significant increase in cost to print the 500 copies we hand out at PaizoCon.
We love to use Wayfinder to support all the great 3PP companies out there, but as it turns out, they support Wayfinder as well!

There'll be a prestige class coming your way tonight.
Took a bit of juggling to ensure the abilities would be useful whichever base class you took, that nothing was gained too early, and nothing was wasted from duplicating the most likely early feat choices.
An interesting mental exercise, if nothing else.

A couple things:
First, I'm working on a Darkmoon Vale bestiary with either 9 or 10 creatures. I'm hopng it won't run too long. I'm calling it "The Fearsome Critters of Darkmoon Vale," and the creatures will mostly be monsters that may or may not be tall tales told by Darkmoon Vale lumberjacks, and several of them are inspired by "true" stories told by lumberjacks of the old west.
I've also got a new set of unusual hide armor and a possible magic item based on one of the creatures that I thought up last night, and if I have time, maybe a low level Weal or Woe. Which I could possibly translate into PFBB.
Secondly, Antal at Lord Zsezse Works told me yesterday that they want to take out a full page ad! Hoody HOO!
I'll get him the Wayfinder's email address so you guys can work out the details. I'm hoping that they'll include their amazing pirate ship and pirate cove maps so they can benefit from the Skull and Shackles adventure path.

How many submission do you have currently, Tim?
I currently have 29 submissions. I have some notices from people saying that they are working on something to submit, as well.
But don't let that stop you from submitting your articles! Out of that number, there are several people that have submitted multiple articles, but I'm always going to take the approach of picking the best articles from as many different people as possible first, and then going back through and selecting other ones as needed. So that EVERYONE has a chance to be published.
So, carry on with your articles! I'm looking forward to seeing a lot of them submitted in the upcoming week!

I was awaiting a last edit from the people over at P.C. on my story, but that doesn't seem to be happening. So I'll put a last bit of polish on it myself and mail it in as I've already had two good people there go over it for me.
Also, I'm working on a couple of monsters for the Bestiary from Classic Monsters Revisited and the Guide to Darkmoon Vale. They're low and mid-level CRs, so that should provide a little variety.

OK, I've got good draft done (magus archetype with new arcana, currently 1461 words), so I'll get it out to some friends for proof-reading/editing later this morning/afternoon.
I'd also wanted to finish a critter, but I'm having my doubts I have it finished and polished in time. If I do manage to complete it, I'll send it in too.
