Paizo goblins are kewl. They're snarky. They got character.
I think the "Paizo goblin" is probably one of the kewlest things you guys came up with racewise/reskin wise (you don't see people bandying around the term "Paizo Human" that much), and I think the availability as a p.c. race would benefit the game. Give it some punch.
Oh, and I'm probably not responding to anything in this thread.
I just wanted to say this to the powers-that-be; I don't really care to read the drek that I predict this thread will turn into.
In fact, I'm probably just going to close this whole section back up.

Would they be accepted within the "common" society of normal PC races, or would they have their own societies and hunt the outskirts of "common" society?
Just curious how others visualize this. I would love to see them as a race, as I agree with the OP that they are one of PF's greatest refinements. But, I hope they are shunned and killed in "common" society, living instead in the shadows and sewers etc or elsewhere...Would make for interesting social dynamics.

In my games Orcs and Goblins are just another humanoid race like Elves and Dwarves. I've always hated that silly notion of monsters being evil for the sake of evilness. Only planar being should be so motivated. Sure they might be primitive or aggressive but Orcs and Goblins have their own motivations and culture just like anyone else. They should not exist solely to glorify the heros by being slaughtered.

In Golarion they do have their own motivations and cultures and this is why they are labeled as evil. They each have rich cultures and a range of motivations based upon those cultures. Those very cultures and motivations however place them as enemies of pretty much everyone else.

I, for one, would love to see goblins as part of a PvP minigame, sort of like a zombies game, where you have 10-20 goblin players, 3-5 players. The goblins are raiding a village, burning things, killing dogs & horses, and the players have to stop them.
Or, if you're going for a more open world use, have random goblin attacks in town. The goal should be to stop the mayhem, not kill the goblins (though that'd help), so characters could put out fires, heal dogs, and lead horses to scare the goblins away.

Actually some sort of monster play where one can create some sort of monster or evil humanoid and attempt to organize counter-human kindgom or just roam local darklands would be nice.
Why I have feeling that I already mentioned that it would be nice to have monster play in PFO?
(note to self - in suggestion add expanded Darklands under River Kingdoms - or maybe leave it for expansion pack...)

I think it's interesting that it's being brought up in this light, but I'm curious what people think the difference between doing the above and this PvP related griefing I've been hearing so much about is.
That said, I'm all for monster play.

Really depends upon implementation.
Also, there should be a special type of dungeons where players that signed for monster play could take a degree of control over monsters and defend the dungeon against those pesky adventures.

When I was involved in living Greyhawk unusual characters were always kept as special rewards. Attending Gencon or playing in a certain significant module for example gave a cert for creation of an unusual player character.
This means you do not get an against-lore proliferation of monster races.
Some options come to mind
- sell them for Skymetal bits at a high enough real dollar cost to limit numbers
- make access a reward for participation in a dev run PvE event
- make the certs something that drop rarely at random in PvE

I was thinking "Goblins can't live and work with the PC races according to lore*" but then it struck me that the strange going-ons in PFO (Pharasma's Mark, Great Catastrophe etc.) may give Goblinworks a carte blanche to do what they want with how the races interact. I personally would only possibly like to see goblins as a "monster play race" and not as settlement citizens though.
*to the best of my limited knowledge on Golarion

A reward for a community event would be good. I don't think it necessarily needs to be run by the developers though if the community is organised enough.
The Gaiscioch social gaming community used to run weekly server wide community events in Guild Wars 2 called The Great Tyrian Adventure. Each week Arena.net would give the event leaders rewards to hand out in a raffle run through the servers website. Not only did Arena.net hand stuff out, but people would donate items to the organisers which would also be handed out each week. It got so big that they were handing out Legendary items (painstakingly crafted by event organisers) at the end of season events.
