Character concept - the Kanye

Advice

I thought of an interestingly hilarious character concept. I want to make a pfs legal cockblocker, so to speak. The goal is to make a character that specializes in disarming melee enemies and stopping spellcasters from casting. I'm currently looking at magus as the base for the build, but it's totally up to discussion. I don't quite recall, but can spells be countered assuming you know what spell it is as a spellcaster? Anyway, unleash upon me the ideas that are hidden in the corners of the rule books!

A Magus is going to be a relatively weak selection for this because of the partial caster line-up. An Abjuration-based Wizard is going to tower over the Magus because of the versatility of Dispel Magic coming at an earlier level. Alternatively, a Sorceror can be a solid choice because of the sheer number of spell slots. Either of these characters is going to be able to pull out True Strike for the near auto-success for Disarm or Trip. The only difference is that the Magus doesn't have to spend a separate action for it.

Monk with chokehold -- it's a joke inside a joke.

Shadow Lodge

Half elf summoner--use the APG ability to get exotic weapon whip. Specialize in tripping. Make pet with step up, Skilled: acrobatics and then whatever fun you wish to come up with.

Enlarge the crap out of it, too.

A bard might work. You get decent spellcasting for counterspelling, decent melee progression for disarming, and of course, Perform: Autotune.

Seriously, though, I think a bard would be best suited for this. A prepared spellcaster is out of luck for countering spells he didn't prepare today, while a spontaneous spellcaster has his whole spells know list on call. The whip is one of the best disarm options in the book, since you can do it at range. Take Combat Reflexes and Stand Still for extra cockblocking through AoO's (yes, I know the whip doesn't let you threaten a 15-foot range, but it's still pretty sweet) Never forget the existence of Countersong, keep your Spellcraft skill maxed, consider a wand of Dispel Magic in your back pocket, and maybe Hold Person for flat-out "no, you can't do anything at all."

Does Arcane Strike work with combat maneuvers? You'd want decent Strength for your CMB, so an Arcane Duelist might be a decent choice.

Improved whip mastery lets you threaten 10' feet with it.
