Book of the River Nations Excel Spreadsheet?

Has anyone done a sheet for kingdom management that incorporates the additions from Jon Brazer's Book of the River Kingdoms? I want to use it but I'd prefer to avoid the trouble of writing my own sheet if it's already been done by someone who, unlike me, knows what they're doing.

I adapted a sheet made by another person on this forum (RunebladeX i believe). It's not as clean at present since I had to change some formating to accomadate the additional buildings and different resources used, as well as adjust a few costs. Plus for the life of me can't figure out how to change the information in the help bubbles that pop up. If you'd like I'll send you the sheet I have so far tonight, but remember it's still a WIP compared to the very nice and well done sheet I started with.

Found a bug. I'd fix it but I don't know where to look.

Fletcher +1 Economy & +1 Stability.

The sheet is giving +2 Loyalty & +2 Stability

I have not checked the others yet as my guys are only in month 3 and with 3 worshipers of Erastil, you know that I fletcher had to be an early build!

Well coming up with it might not be entirely the correct description.....

The sheets looks extremely familiar to me.... probably cause I made the base version of it :-). (Except the River Nations stuff.).

Still, more than happy to see this being taken forward, expanded, etc.

Hell... I will probably use this expanded version myself.

Sorry to have to be the bearer of bad tidings, but the Fletcher is still incorrect.

should be +1 Economy & Stability
is +1 Loyalty & Stability

How do I fix it? I assume there are hidden cells with the data, but can you tell me where?

Love the format of this one, only thing that I really miss is the weather generator that used to be there. It was a nice touch and something that I would love to see again if thats possible

There are hidden cells.... however because it started out as a less comprehensive excel sheet, they are repeated on each (city) page.

They are in the rows behind the names/fill-in fields. E.g. For the fletcher in column E through N. You can unprotect, select and unhide...... and then adjust it.

Liberty's Edge

D'oh...That fletcher is the bane of my existence :)

I've fixed it in all the cities (for real this time {crosses fingers}).

I've also added in the castle additions (many of the bonuses display in the city comments area), as well as split defense into M&R for Melee and Ranged (since some of the castle additions differentiate between which phase they add defense to) and resent it to Dale.

Berhagen, I apologize. I mistakenly credited the original to RunebladeX toward the beginning of this thread and never corrected myself.

My hats off to you sir! This sheet has really helped in my Kingmaker game!

/bow

Jestem, I'll have to look into a weather generator functionality. If I can find something that's easy to bolt on, I'll try to do it soon.

Got another bug for you (Can you tell that part of my job, when I was working, was software tester!!!)....

Since this has the Book of River Nations updates, the Marshal and Warden "jobs" got switched, per THIS POST and Dale's answer. However, the "popup" text for those two cells still show the original text.

Can you change that, and by the way, how do I a) change it myself? or b) turn all those "popups" off?

So is it possible you sent the sheet to me too? (/cast charm)

Liberty's Edge

I've flipped the Warden and Marshal bonuses and vacancy penalties, per the BotRN and resent the file.

I am still looking at a weather generator as requested. I found one I like (built for a Greyhawk I believe), but it is very complicated and doesn't always generate correctly, so I'm working on it and trying to tweak things to see if I can get it to a good spot before I look at adding it to the kingdom sheet.

Tryn, please visit the link in Dale's post to download the file for use.

Liberty's Edge

@ Timothy:
For the weather there is a simpler solution than a weather generator.

Look this site:
http://www.tutiempo.net/en/Climate/KIEV_BORISPOL/01-1978/333460.htm
It has the real weather pattern from all the world, with temperature, wind speed, if there were precipitations and what kind, fog and visibility range.
all recorders for years.

I have chose the Kiev area as it seem to reflect very well the Stolen lands probable weather pattern.

Large plain open toward the north pole, as sea nearby (south of Iobaria), a swamp nearby. Even the latitude seem right.
So you don't need any weather table, you can simply copy-paste it from the table.

I am sure that US people can find a similar site with the values in miles, yards and Fahrenheit.

Any chance that you could add the buildings that Charles Evans and others created in Wayfinders #4 and #5? You can download them for free here on the Paizo site. The first article is on page 84 of Wayfinder #4 and actually includes pictures of the buildings! In Wayfinder #5, it starts on page 18. There are some new art pieces in that article too.

Thanks for working on this! It is a boon for my campaign.

Lisa,

I hadn't read through WF 4 & 5 yet. I really like the new building/hex ideas and will get them added into the spreadsheet as soon as I can. I've also created building tiles for the buildings from BotRN (albeit at a lower res than the originals or the wayfinder ones - raster art, not vector). I didn't know if I would need to get approval from Dale and/or you to post them, but I'll send them to both of you to take a look at and let me know (if they're fine to post, feel free to add them to your site if you'd like, Dale).

Diego,

I'll definitely check out that site. It sounds very convenient! Thanks for the input!

Hey Tim:

Any idea exactly how big the foreign quarter is supposed to be (in Wayfinder 4)? To me it looks like it's a full 16 city blocks (4 sq. x 4 sq.). That seems to make sense, but also makes it the biggest "building" in the system, so I wanted to make sure what the consensus is before I add it to the spreadsheet. While I'm at it, I assume the Fortress of the Faith and the University are 4 blocks (2x2) and the Millpond is 1 block (1x1). Everyone think that looks/sounds correct?

My group is loving the older 2003 Excel version.. we wanted to upgrade but the 2007 version is acting funny on our older software. Is there only the 2007 Excel version out there or are we missing something obvious with an updated 2003 file?

Loving BotRN btw!

I think you may well be right with your assumptions. I think it is kind of cool that the foreign quarter is bigger than anything else. I would say that you should go with that!

Nope, that was intentional. Traditionally the Warden is the nature police and the Marshal the city defender. The APG Nature Warden PrC got it right: "Nature wardens are guardians of the wild places of the world."

Some people commented on the fact they were reversed from their traditional roles so I fixed it.
