Anybody else looking forward to S&S as an opportunity for some Spelljamming or maybe even conversion to a science fiction space setting?
I'm definitely going to be looking at this with an eye to making the seas into ether, islands into asteroids, and the Eye of Abendego into a black hole.
Seems feasible from the basic description, and I've been looking for a good space fantasy AP for longer than there have been APs.

I like this idea, could potentially be cool. I'll be interested to see how easy or difficult this is once it comes out.

I'm willing to run Skull and Shackles anywhere and in any setting. Seriously. I'm happy anytime a published adventure's main campaign focus doesn't involve playing savior Harper agent, white knight of the sun god, and protector of the innocent. And I say this as a GM; if I was actually playing, I wouldn't consider running a character through most of the AP scenarios.
The material's well written and designed, but it's something I'd use as a GM only. Hell, most of the time I'm displacing parts of AP installments as modified one-shots or side plots in an existing campaign.
When I've presented most APs to my players, I have to approach them from an anti-hero, mercenary, etc. perspective or I'll end up with an impromptu one-shot homebrew. If Skull and Shackles is what I think it will be, I shouldn't have to change much at all (that will be a first for me). Whether it's space pirates, caravan-structured bandits in the River Kingdoms, or plane-hopping blackguards, I'm ready to run Skull and Shackles.

I didn't at first, but now that you mention it...
Hmmmm. I'm now thinking that S&S in the Tears of Selune might play pretty well. A magical maelstrom in wildspace (instead of Golarion's goofy perma-hurricane) might work out better.

That would be a great location. This line of thinking is getting me back in the mood to do Freeport in space too.

What is goofy about Golarion's perma-hurricane, it only seems permanent because its duration is greater then the average life space of a human so as to seem permanent, no different the the red spot on Jupiter which is a hurricane that has been going on now for as long as humans have observed atmospheric characteristics of Jupiter.

Sorry, I'm going with "goofy" - even more so after your post.
(You realize it's a personal opinion/preference, right?)

It is just a matter of perspective, if you were a insect with an adult life of left then a day, you might imagine a particularly persistent day of rain storms to be a permanent feature of your world.

I can't believe no one's noticed this: Sailing the Starlit Seas. They've got 40% of their Kickstarter funding, but only have 17 more days to go.
Disclosure: I contributed already and I really really want to see this project (and supplements for it) done.

The similarities between the Eye of Abendego and Jupiter's Great Red Spot have been noted, and incorporated into Distant Worlds...
And I heartily encourage any adventure that ends with ".... IN SPAAAAACE!" :D
Might I inquire as to whether or not you have cleaned your allotment of tableware?

Indeed, I have! :D

Actually that is the main reason I picked it up.
I'll be running the AP as is until 15th level and then the Arcane will show up. Thanks to Paizo we have details of the crystal sphere in Distant Worlds which should make things simpler.
At that point it goes off into space and eventually will bring our pirates into conflict with the Elven Imperial Navy and adventuring on and around the Rock of Bral.
We have already tested the improved ship rules in our established SJ game and they work beautifully!
The Obsidian Portal for our S&S Game
The Established SJ Game is there as well
This AP is a godsend for SJ DMs, just got the second installment and it's just as chock full of groovy as the first one was. Whoever thought of putting it out right after Distant Worlds was quite a canny sod, well done!

I have thought the same thing, lol. Good to know that DM Loki comes to the Paizo boards. The S&S Player's guide is going to be great when my current campaign gets into Wildspace.

Hey Xorial! Aaargh, ye flatter me matey!
All this piratey goodness means lot of fantastic refinements to ship rules and "life on a ship" texture. It is a veritable goldmine.
I tend to only periodically visit the various forums out there as I spend a lot of time monitoring ours over at Planewalker. Part of it is that I can get lost down rabbit holes for hours if I do.
Since for once I am running something as is, and doing so at almost the same time as many other DMs, you'll see me in the Skull and Shackles threads a lot until it wraps. Possibly afterwards as well if anyone is interested what happens when they become terrors of the space-ways.

You know I will keep peeking in at your Obsidian Portal pages for it. I was thinking of making this a fully Spelljammer AP. Move it all to space & have the PCs be Shanghaied groundlings.
