Is there a enchantment for bludgeoning weapon

Rules Questions

Hey my brain is kind of blanking at the moment and I'm posting this from my phone, but is there an enchant for bludgeoning weapons that is basically keen?

Not in PF, no.

Thanks for the swift reply, looks like I'll have to rethink my Inquisitor

As long as it's not a PFS game, you might be able to convince your GM to allow the old 3.5 'Impact' enchant, which was functionally identical to Keen, just for bludgeoning weapons.

IMO it's a waste of time of time to extend the threat range of a 20-only crit weapon unless you use it a freaking ton (i.e., are an archer getting four or more shots a round by 6th level).

Impacting. It's not in PF, but since it's simply a rewording of Keen and since bludgeoning weapons don't really get any special traits of their own, your GM should allow it.

The fellow wielding the Keen Shocking Burst pickaxe may disagree with you...

He's getting one crit chance on every ten smacks, so let's run through the numbers and see if this is a prudent expenditure of cash.

First, let's make a couple of assumptions:

* He's a melee fighter, so he's not always or even frequently getting full-attacks. Let's be really generous and give him a full-attack every other round.

* Let's make him Hasted at 12th level -- this means that on each set of two rounds (in which he gets one full attack) he has five attacks, and therefore has one chance of a crit every four rounds. Since we're SUPER generous, we'll even suppose his bad iteratives aren't the auto-misses they almost always are.

* He has an automatic 5% chance to not confirm a crit (i.e., he rolls a 1); assuming he's not Hercules, it's more like 25% to 33# (he rolls low on confirmation) - Let's be generous and grant him 75% confirmation -- which means the addition of Keen to his weapon is granting him as additional 3.75% chance of additional damage per attack.

* Let's assume the person fighting with this pick does a reasonable amount of damage already due to strength, Power Attacks, gloves of dueling, and what-not-else for buffs. Let's suppose he's doing at least 25pts average at 12th (which is weak), meaning a crit without Shocking Burst does 100pts. -- So, how many opponents do you expect to be fighting which are capable of surviving that? Let's generously assume there's a 50% that the opponent would drop due to the extra 3d10 = ~16.5 Shocking Burst damage, but not from the crit itself. This means there is an additional 1.875% chance of situationally meaningful extra damage every round due to Shocking Burst and Keen.

-- My 3rd-level dwarf got a crit with a masterwork large waraxe (20x3) the other day and did 44pt. His already-softened opponent only need 10 to drop him.
