About cleave, pre UC i would have to say take it at 1st or 2nd level and change it later

really? cleave seems like a pretty solid choice now that you only have to hit a person and not down them. and it's an attack action, so when your closing the gap between the enemy and you, just make sure you position yourself so you can cleave...

actually had our fighter use great cleave on 8 people the other day, was pretty funny

There's plenty of stuff in UC that the two-handed fighter can use.

There's nothing however that's specifically LIMITED to the THF. The Ten knows, they weren't in a need of a boost.

Vital strike and shield of swings? Why?

Ah, maybe i´m a corner-case, using leaden-blades, but a TH-fighter is propably working with a greatsword and 4d6 are nothing to scoff at, when you can´t/won´t full-attack, like charge?

Shield of swings is propably most fun with a barbarian, were you still get more than decent damage out of your attacks, but it´s +4 AC, when you need it.
And maybe? Furious focus? No penalties only for the first power-attack, but i think its great, admitedly exspecially in combo with vital-strike.

Point for vital-strike: it also works with enlarge, right? That´s 6d6 for a greatsword.
