So. I'm sure everyone has heard by now that there was a tiefling boon from Gen Con 2011 you had a chance to get if you managed to open up the chest. For those of you who have it, what is your tiefling looking like so far? Has you the miniature of a succubus without the wings glued on, a magus build set up, and so ready to play your tiefling you are about ready to run around in circles and scream like I am?
Or, are you the other side of the coin? I know one of my fellow players in Indianapolis traded his boon for + on perception for a dhampyr instead, saying it was much more exciting then a tiefling.
Where do you stand on the quarter fiendish little buggers? Are they awesome, or are you not all that interested?

If not for already retiring (almost) a pally, I would play an Aasimar pally. yeah it's a cliche` but that's because they are awesome!
I am stoked to try my hand with a Tengu. Thought about using it for my pirate build, but I need a human with the extra feet.
Not as interested in the Tiefling, but then again, I've always been a more heroic PC type, than a semi-evil or at least borderline one.

The other nice thing about Aasimar is that they have two +2 stats with no -2 stat. And that's after errata has been published for the Bestiary, and it wasn't changed.

Agreed... It is really nice, but I didn't actually win any of the race boons from the chest. I'd be more then happy to have an Aasimar. As it is, one of my players during the special gave me their tiefling boon, who's name I never actually got ahold of after the game! I'll have to thank them again in one way or another.
But no, I was thinking Tiefling Magus for my character. I was going to take the Improved Eldritch Heritage feat at some point, but I realized that with a 5 charisma at 1st level, it's unlikely that she'll ever have the 15 charisma needed for the feat. The purpose, of course, was so I could glue those wings onto the succubus miniature and say that is my character :P

I'm thinking about trying to build a Radovan clone... at least I have art to use for it :)

I'm building a Ranger / Rogue "assassin" and it's looking to be a Tiefling. (A Dhampyr is nice, too, but the -2 Con and immunity to clerical healing surges is a poor choice for a ranger.) (I was originally planning to make him a Half-orc, but I want to use one of the boon races I'd won at GenCon, to show around the gamers here and generate some interest.)
Another good choice for Tiefling is Monk, especially with the Nightmare Fist feat from Ultimate Combat, which delivers extra damage to an opponent struck by unarmed damage when you're in a darkness field.

Then you've got a different group of locals than I do; I'd be concerned they'd see it as elitist for me to parade around a character type that they can't play because they didn't travel to an expensive convention.
Which will change when all these races are released under Ultimate Races, but probably the case for right now.

Gonna use my tiefling to whip up a magus with a cool head, but a bit on the sleazy side with a scam-artist/thief-like personality. Think Mundingus from the Harry Potter books mixed with a little Han Solo and Harry Dresden and a bit more "I'll get the job done no matter what it is"...thinking CN for alignment probably since he's pretty much out for himself and his mates...and money.
Maybe a bit cliched, but I think it'll be a fun character to play.

Bro,
Iraq, Afghanistan, and other military happiness in between my three deployments have kept me from every paizocon, the last five gencons, and this years norwescon and dragonflight. and pax is sold out even if I make it back by then. I am happy for all the people that have had an awesome time at these events and those that have gotten awesome swag to boot.I hope next year to be rocking with my fellow gamers at some of these.
In the meantime, enjoy your awesome racial choice boon and make an awesome character.

Ended up with a dhampyr cleric of Urgathoa. Tall, gaunt, ashen features, bald. Undead lord (only one domain, but with a cute zombie companion). Should be fun.
Funny - exact opposite of my Gnome Cleric of Urgathoa. Short, fat, robust, happy, and hairy (looking much like William Howard Taft). He's going for Divine Champion. He is a lot of fun.

So. I played the Dhampyr Undead Lord this weekend, in a party with other folk who had gone to Gen Con: a Tiefling maguc, a Tengu monk, and "Farmer Bob" the half-orc ninja.
Without trying, we were all Monster Squad, representing the Pathfinder Society in the Kingdom of the Impossible.
I suspect this is just a preview of what Pathfinder Society is going to look like, in another 9 months.

Let me cast one vote here for opening the campaign up (either through boons or some other method) to PCs from various alien races from Star Trek. Right now, if we want to play Vulcans or Klingons, we have to play elven monks or half-orc barbarians, and fill in the backstory as best we can.
In particular, I understand that there is a great swell of interest for playing that blue-skinned race with antennae. People are always claiming that background for their characters.

According to some GMs you can already do this! Easy, For Vulcan you make an Elf and just "re-skin" it, Klingon you just "re-skin" a Half-orc!
