Lukan Swane "Swaney" |
Very cool! It's unfortunate he had to leave. Our PC's still had a lot of scores to settle and new fights to be had.
You bet. Aaron can always use Lukan as an NPC if you want to settle some scores. I'm sorry I had to leave like that. I was having a ton of fun. I just had to step away from it all and focus on the family. PBP was eating up too much of my time along with some other things. I'm just really glad you guys kept going strong and are still having fun.

All right, I'll be posting the kingdom month 15 in a couple minutes. Carina, as we reach Size 21 you'll be able to apply your modifier to a second kingdom statistic (either Loyalty or Stability). What will that be? Keep in mind our Kingdom DC will be 41, Stability will be 38 and Loyalty will be 34.

Since we are apparently now the Duke and Duchess and can use our bonus on both Econ and Stability. I think that these are more important that Loyalty. We have kept the nation in pretty good hands and have not had much problem with unrest at this point.
Now that we are to 21, lets slow down the acquisition of land and go back to increasing our funds. We can build the temple in the next month or two, and then we might want to banking funds to get the Waterfront. There are a lot of things that we need and getting the Waterfront will really decrease the cost of them - Market, Black Market, Guildhall, Pier, Tradesman, Stable, etc.
The Temple will give us 2 more minor items to sell each month. This together with all the other bonuses should put us on track to having enough BP in 6-7 months to get the Waterfront I think.

No worries, brother, I understand how it goes. You set your priorities in the right direction. I think Lukan holds a leadership position somewhere but I may be mistaken. I'm sure he'd have a thing or two to say about Ganit's current state, haha!
Lukan Swane "Swaney" |
No problem, man, it's good to finally get some news on you. Hope your family is ok now :)
The family is great. Everything has calmed down quite a bit. I've been catching up on what happened after I left off. Sounds like Lukan got married off and finally proved his noble heritage - not in that order. Not sure how well he is doing in the noble courts, lol. Must be hell for him. But it's good to hear there was some closure. I'm always willing to do some guest starring if Aron is interested ;)
Ganit, so you finally succumbed to your darker side? I think Lukan would have a soft spot you. He'd probably give you a chance for redemption through a fair bout of fistacuffs.
Lukan Swane "Swaney" |
Cambyl and Lukan would have been the governors of the brew. I'm upset that you guys got rid of the half keg :P It's good to see that Bron was able to redeem himself as Duke of the stolen lands. Or has he?
DM Aron Marczylo |
Going to take a look at the adventure and might end it this month. We'll see though.
Also, I spoke with Alex and he suggested that since he was of noble heritage the fluff is, his father tracked him down and sent down a woman to marry him to be his wife.
Who knows, he may return if you so wish and something happened to a member of the group *touch wood* and could rejoin, deciding that you were too bored of such a life. Lukan's father searched for him as all the noble families at the moment are bolstering their numbers. As Alex said to me, think of it like Game of Thrones. All these families are building up and tension is building. All that needs to happen is for someone to set off the powder keg to give them an excuse to march on the lesser nobles and take their lands or even stage assassinations.

1 person marked this as a favorite. |
Just to Clarify, no I'm not giving up the game. When I said "end it this month" I meant the kingdom building, not the game. Apologies if anyone else misinterpreted that.
DM Aron Marczylo |
Btw, you can't sell more than 1 item in the same district which means you'll have to choose only one item from the temple, which can be good as it still opens up a slot for something tastey
Items:
Arcane Scroll: Detect Poison
Arcane Scroll: Magic Weapon
Edit: also, when will Carina's child be born?
Another Edit: Also Carina what do the cities look for month 15?
DM Aron Marczylo |
I was looking at the ones online and last ones were 13th. Anyway, I don't think you'll qualify for the next xp anyway.
Carina Stigard |
Yup - we built a Smith in Olegsburg last month, but that does not fill a square. We do have 3 full squares though. The Castle, the smith/brewery in the NE corner of Evergreen, and the square in the middle of Olegsburg. We easily have enough for more, but I am trying to lay it out in a logical manner - not put the park next to the dump or smelly tannery.
DM Aron Marczylo |
yeah, added those as I've updated sheets. Only 1443 xp away from 5th.
DM Aron Marczylo |
Loy was the event, btw. He was meant to have apeared at month 2 or 3, but forgot about him.
DM Aron Marczylo |
you can start the kingdom of Tatzlford without needing to build a road towards it, unlike your other cities and as stated, the first castle, castle, temple, market, tavern, or inn build on this village will be half the cast of Loy and his wife have a lot of skill, skilled workers and a exhuberant amount of cash. It'll still be a part of your kingdom, but they have been wanting to build this place for some time and wish your permission to build.
Carina Stigard |
I do not know whether we can explore south. We need some clarification on that. I definitely want to explore soon. While I like the whole empire building part of this, with one or two of us doing most of the rolling and deciding, this campaign is lagging a little. We need to give it a kick by starting to explore again and kill some trolls and other fun monsters.

lol have to have tatzleford build as it's important to later in the aventure so if you build it, it'll be the last month.
DM Aron Marczylo |
hello all? Still waiting for that update on the kingdom. no one's waiting for me are they and I'm just not aware of it?

This one took me a while since Loy's offer threw a monkey wrench in our plans. We had to claim a couple hexes to arrive at the location for the future city. Next month we can start laying out the foundations (since it costs 4 BP and takes 2 months) but at the best estimate we'll take around 3 months to finish it.
I'm thinking we take those 3 months to save up some BP and when the town is finished we open a modest market on there with a couple houses.
Finally can we name like something like Dragonford or Drakeford? I just can't seem to spell Tazltford correctly.
Also, here's an updated map.

helm of comprehend languages and read magic has been developed. No other items as you didn't free up the space.
Also Carina is correct, 25 size you gain xp.
2 more items are produced at the temple. Potion of Barkskin +2 and potion of purify food and drink.
Also add the value of that scroll to the treasury pile whoever is maintaining it.
DM Aron Marczylo |
Also, you can only sell one magic item per block so you can't sell both items produced by the temple. Same with other multiple magic item producing buildings.
Bronwyn Greenwood |
Aron, would you please clarify a bit more about the "Treasury Pile"? As I understood it, magic items worth less than 4.000 gp that are sold do not provide BP, but they count their value towards a pile. When that pile reaches 4.000 gp we get the 2 BP a minor item would provide?
If that is the case, I don't think we have been counting the previous months. I can go back and do it, but if anyone can take that over it would help me out a lot.
DM Aron Marczylo |
Think I had posted it a while ago of what the count was.

4. Generate Income: 1d20 + 43 ⇒ (8) + 43 = 51 (+10 BP. Treasury is now at 12 BP.)
DM Aron Marczylo |
makes sense to me. Also, I've been too generous with the item generation and decided to adapt a system where if anything under 4k gets generated it gets added to a treasury pool when sold. As soon as it reaches 4k, you gain 1 BP.
As said above, it'll be 1 BP.
Current size is: 737.5/4,000 gp
items: arcane scroll of hypnotism 25 gp, divine scroll of delay posion 150 gp, divine scroll of flame blade 150 gp
keep seeming to come up with crappy scrolls, lol.
event: 1d100 ⇒ 94 no event
You've gained a bit more xp, I'll let this next month be the final month before you venture south so you'll build something in the new city to the west.
